      Hi Dr.Dray, Karla here at 60 and fairly new to a consistent skincare routine am and Pm.
      Is lactic acid good and safe to use under the eyes? And also: do you have a video on how to treat dehydrated under eyes? I use a peptide fueled moisturizer ( helps so so much) and of course sunscreen. I looked thru all of your videos but haven’t found one on how to treat dehydrated under eyes. Do you have one?
      Also would you mind doing a tutorial showing how you apply your skincare products( full routine?
      Thank you 🙏 so much for your dedication to all of us and to your U~Tube channel.
      May God Bless You daily.

      @@karlaharvey2623 I know this reply is somewhat late, however lactic acid is not recommended to be used in the area around the eyes seeing as it can irritate it. It is also recommended more for night use but if you plan on using it during the day then sunscreen is neccessary. If at first your skin is irritated by it, you can mix it with your moisturizer to build your tolerance against it.

    Thank you Dr. Dray, you truly changed my skincare routine. As 44 years old woman who lives in most humid & tropical island in Bali, I finally dare to use Retinoic acid, lactic acid and of course Sunscreen. In fact I've been using these for the last 1 year since pandemic. You truly become my skincare guru and my most favorites dermatologist. I learn lots of new things & knowledge about skin because of you, even my dermatologist here in Bali quiet impressed with my knowledge 😁. Unfortunately using sunscreen in Bali is not yet so popular yet as most assume this more for westerner skin 😂. Anyhow I've taught my kids to use sunscreen and reapply them since they're young, even many people many a jokes on us here 😁. Thank you and best regards from Bali 🥰🥰😘😘

    Many years ago, my mother suffered from severe widespread skin allergies. Large areas of her skin were raw. At the time, it was a big deal to see a dermatologist, but the one she saw advised her to wrap the affected areas in gauze soaked in nonfat dry milk, and it worked. I've been a believer ever since.

      Put a blueberry sized dab on your problem area and see what happens. Testing anywhere else is useless since not all areas of your face react the same. Here's my protocol: Patch test on arm first for allergies. Second test is a small dab of the product on the area I want to use it. Therefore if it irritated my skin I minimized the crime scene and can easily recover and have direct results. Imagine the catastrophe if you test it on another area, saw the area not get irritated , then you put it on your problem area and it blows up your whole face because the areas are not equal !

    Very educational video, thank you!
    ¿Can you give instructions on how to safely / properly use The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA?
    I have The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% but the instructions on the box are not clear at all. (Only says apply at night.)
    ¿How much should I use?
    ¿Should I use my hands or a cotton round to apply it to my skin?
    ¿Do I leave it on for only 5 mins? 10 mins? Leave it on all night until I wash my face in the morning?
    ¿How many times per week is safe / recommended to use it, given that this seems to be formulated for an exfoliating (rather than humectant) purpose?
    I have combination sometimes sensitive skin that is prone to hyperpigmentation, so I want to be extra careful about using AHAs properly.
    Thanks!

      Use lactic acid after thoroughly cleansing and drying your skin. There are actually websites that can tell you the best sequence for all produces - e.g. toner, cleaner, lactic acid, and then moisturizer. You should apply each layer to your skin and then give it time to absorb (1 minute if you're in a rush, 15 - 30 minutes if you have time)

    After trying TO lactic acid 5%, used it 2x a werk then sver othrr day. i get addicted to it because of the good results to my skin and have used it every night. I love how my skin looks soft and smoother. Pigmentations fades took a long time, but i am not in a hurry tho'. Results are visible after a week. Been using it for 3 months now.

    Hey Dr. Dray. I know you’ve mentioned using petroleum jelly in place of neosporin, but how exactly does petroleum promote wound healing?

    • @katydid5088
      @katydid5088 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Simply put, the occlusive nature of the vasiline improves scar suppleness and stratum cornium moisture content, thus helping the skin's moisture content to an optimal environment for your natural healing process to continue. Neosporin when compared against a placebo of vasiline experienced the same or better healing results because allergies to the common antibiotics (sulfur amongst others) were absent. In other words, there's no reason to add the antibiotics when what actually does most of the work is the occlusion from petroleum jelly on a cleaned body surface.

    • @KentuckyLiz
      @KentuckyLiz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm trying it for the first time and it works. I have a couple of cuts on my arms and some insect bites around my ankles. Putting a little Vaseline on it AM & PM (plus if I wish my hands and end up washing it off) keeps the area clean, moist, and the scab isn't overly dry and itchy. I am tempted to pick at things mindlessly so avoiding the dry/itchy is good. Not sure if it makes a difference in scarring or not, we'll see.

    I’ve been using Neostrata on and off since my 20’s. I’m nearly 50 now. I’m currently using their 10% glycolic serum and their triple moisture neck cream. Instead of their body cream (which is great but it all gets pricey, especially in Australia) and you are not scent sensitive, The Revolution has lactic and sal acid 8% in a very rich cream base. It has helped my very dry legs and feet enormously. Here in Oz, it’s only $12 and is in a large tube.
