I would add Mr. Mxyzptlk to the list of forces of nature. Although generally impish and just creates mischief for fun, his powers make him potentially the most powerful of Superman's enemies if he put his mind to it. With a thought he could take down any of the other enemies on this list, and he can also alter the entire universe in any way that he chooses. In his first Post-Crisis appearance he showed that Superman didn't have a chance against him. The only limits he has are the ones he puts on himself (including that he will keep his word).
Infinity's Realm Despite Doomsday's abilities, Mr. Mxyzptlk could delete him with just a thought or alter him in any way he chooses (as an example, he changed Lois Lane into a living mannequin and changed a mannequin [who he thought was prettier] into a living person). Being from the Fifth Dimension, he basically has no limitations within the DC Universe (and it has been theorized that he is actually in the Marvel Universe as The Impossible Man).

The Joker is considered as Batman's #1 villain yet he has no training in martial arts, and he's just human with no powers. I want to do some suggestions: Top 10* *No-marvel/DC heroes (dark horse, valiant, images, dynamite, etc) *Non-superhero comicbooks *vertigo series *undervalued heroes *overvalued heroes
batman shoots right to the top of overvalued heroes.... i cant believe some reactions he gets. they keep trying to say he beats superman but superman let him. and superman had beat batman utterly. the only hero that could defeat superman is wonder woman.
well, i hope to find in the underrated heroes aquaman, daredevil or green hornet (or can be a list for DC, another for Marvel and another for alternatives). In the overvalued... just i made the suggestion and you are discussing... i don't want to see the comments if Watchmojo do the video. PD: don't foget iron man in the overvalued ;)
I did have in mind to have my character, James Gilliam fight Lobo twice, their first fight would be in the "Mean Green Machine " chapter of my series, the James Gilliam Chronicles, their second one would be in the "Battle of the Bounty Hunters "chapter
I wasn't trying to be snarky, but Manchester Black, while a pretty decent character, was quite short lived, wasn't quite a "villain," definitely not one of Supes' top rivals, and was defeated, along with his whole team, despite having put together a big elaborate plan to take out the Man of Steel. So, he doesn't belong in that list. Though, I can't say that his other choices are bad. But he pretty much named all his biggest ones, so...
marchofsaints true he isn't quite in supermans league nor are any of the elite but they still made a damn good impress would have loved to see them in more DC animated media a shame they killed off manchester
Manchester actually regained his powers. Superman, ever the nice guy, didn't really sever the part of Manc's brain that gave him TK, he just concussed it. Black was in a few comics after that, but as more of an anti-hero than a villain. Ironically, considering the name of his group, he committed suicide after his last failed plan to "beat" Superman. Edit: Oh yeah, they brought him back in the New 52 as a Teen Titan villain.
I'd have given Livewire at LEAST an Honorable Mention. She's such a fun villain, and I'd say she has a lot more personality to her than Bizarro. Plus, the fact that she got the Harley Quinn treatment (Character created for the animated series who became so popular among fans that she was officially brought into the larger comics' canon) has to be worth something.
If there is a movie with that character in it, it automatically ends up at the top. I guess it is because there's more footage of the character, and he is also more popular (after last year) than the rest.
I dont think this list is called Top 10 Strongest/Deadliest Superman villains it seems more based on popularity than that, but yes i think this list is all over the place with the rankings
Bruce Wayne ur right in a way. Its top 10 superman villains. Doomsday should have been above zod because doomsday accomplished his mission. Killing batman. Zod didn't win.
1. Lex luthor, 2. Darkseid, 3 Brainiac, 4 Zod, 5 Doomsday, 6 Bizarro, 7 Metallo, 8 Mongul, 9 Parasite, 10 Toyman. I didnt add ultra man, because that ecatly evil version of Superman and that i consider part of his character not his villain. Superman kind of the foe of himself to stop himself from beeing evil. His powers does not put him above the law and others. Thats exactly what everyone want, power to put others down. While Superman has everything he sees himself equal to anyone. Thats why i love Superman so much
Darksied really should of been higher up on the list. While Lex is Superman's number 1 enemy, nobody pisses off Superman more than Darksied. He wants to discover the secret of the Anti-Life equation and use it to eliminate the very concept of independent thought and bring the entirety of sentient life itself under his endless crushing heel. To take the sprawling chaos of the universe, the torturous folly of things like choice and freedom, and see it cowed and carved in to the terrifying, soul crushing vision of his own immortal face. A perfect cosmic tyranny, unbreakable and everlasting. He desires absolute control over every little thing that happens in the cosmos. He wants to see with 6 trillion eyes and talk with 3 trillion mouths. He wants to hate with 3 trillion hearts and think with 3 trillion brains. He wants everything to be him. Superman will choose free will over anything, So the fact that Darkside wants this pisses him off to an extreme level.
Darksied really is an incredible villain. But over the past 10 years DC has morphed him More to be a justice league villain rather than a Superman villain. For ALL the reasons you mentioned they figured that his values are not only against superman's values, but also of every JL member, so he made an excellent common threat for the JL. Great post btw.
+Aaron Leandre So true!, and if anyone argues with that, you can just show the finale of Justice League Unlimited, where Darkseid beated all the Justice League, and then Lex showed up in his business suit with a pretty anti-life equation under his sleve, ready to save the day!
I would actually argue Mongul pisses him off more than any other villain. Mongul first appearance was forcing superman to fight Martian Manhunter to save his friends and in Alan Moore iconic superman story, Mongul puts a parasite on him to give him a paradise of Kypton just so he can take it away and attempt to kill him. He challenges the man of Steel to fight harder than any other villain and worse yet, Mongul enjoys it.
Wrong. Darkseid has been defeated by superman alone, as Darkseid is Justice league villain he has been shown stronger. In other comic Zod and Faora defeated Superman + Wonder woman
I absolutely love Parasite's voice in the animated series. He sounds so snarky and menacing, but at the same time has so much humanity and likability to his character.
Very nice list! Don't entirely agree with the order, but all of the villains listed deserve a place here. My personal favorites: 10. Parasite 9. Mr. Mxyzptlk 8. Bizarro 7. Mongul 6. General Zod 5. Metallo 4. Doomsday 3. Brainiac 2. Darkseid 1. Lex Luthor
I can't believe this but your list is exactly perfect to how I feel it should have been, Darkseid is truly tied for me with Lex Luthor, but somehow Luthor always ups by one point as the number 1 Superman villain.
Cool! I agree! They are both great for different reasons. Darkseid wants to conquer the universe and will do anything to achieve that goal. He's a physical threat to Superman, enjoys making him suffer, and even tries to control him (thorough mind wipe or other methods) in order to subject Superman to his will. He is one of the few villains Superman is willing to kill. Lex Luthor, however, is just a regular man, and that makes things harder for Superman sometimes. Since Luthor is human, Superman must defeat him through moral and democratic means, which Luthor is always great at getting around. Also, Luthor can make Superman fall to his knees with just a green rock. It must really be irritating for Superman to be continually humbled by a man who he can crush in two seconds. Darkseid is pretty bad, but no one gets under Superman's skin quite like Luthor.
bibleanddisneyfan Seriously that makes sense, loved the comparison you made between the two characters, between Darkseid and Luther it is true no one could irritate both Superman and Clark more than Lex, he is just that pompous prick in high school who always bested you despite all your efforts to overcome and do your best.
Doomsday>Hulk. plus Technically Doomsday even if killed will Regenerate itself and then can't be killed by the thing he died of,he gets stronger and stronger everytimes he dies.
Technically, Doomsday can be killed off permanently. At least, prior to the New 52, where he was thrown at the end of existence, where even he couldn't resist the physical forces of pure entropy.
I would've had Darkseid at #1. He is the antithesis of Superman. Every hero has that villain that is their dark mirror. For Batman, it's the Joker. For GL (Hal Jordan), it's Sinestro. For the Flash, it's Reverse Flash/Professor Zoom. For Superman, it's Darkseid. One thing that this list omits about him is that in the comics, Darkseid is the ONLY villain that Superman is willing to kill, and is the only villain that Batman has ever used a gun against. Coercing the two most iconic superheroes to break their most famous rules definitely warrants putting him higher.
It is funny you should mention only villain superman is willing to kill because Superman has killed first comic book incarnation of Zod, Faora, Quex-UI, and Doomsday.
he's also nowhere near as smart or tactically minded or able to take control of armies or strategic points like reversing the sun's polarity so he can absorb red sunlight while Superman is drained. Hence why Zod gets one over Doomsday.
The list isnt in that order otherwise mr mzxtplt or whatever it is would be at the top as he is actually one of the most powerful beings in the dc universe
Jürgen Samoilov It's not based on power but character development and how good these characters are if done properly(like how they handled doomsday in injustice: gods among us game)
Azyral Stark People of this day and age aren't Superman fans because, at the core, he's lame and most of us know it. He began as a super-jumping ripoff of Philip Wylie's Gladiator and just pulled ridiculous powers out of his ass for a decade until writers cornered themselves into having to pull awkward devices out of their ass just to make his conflicts interesting. And, hey, it's all fine and good for conflicts to be more complex than two brutes bashing heads, but what made it so awkward was that Supes was designed for bashing heads! So writers are left with trying to wedge a square peg into a round hole. And thus, modern Superman is born, who just kinda pretends to be on the same playing field as everyone else.
I've heard the stories about Superman's origin changing so many times to make it more appropriate for the era. I just think his fans like him only because of the powers and almost indestrutability he has.
***** The Symbol/crest is perfect. Brandon Routh was the perfect successor to Chrisopher Reeve the only thing that was not fair to him to be blamed for that the script for Superman Returns were bad and faulty. I like Brandon Rouths Superman not the soilder Superman of Zack Snyders "so called Superman movie". And second I did not say that Bryan Singer is all that great either conserning the direction he took his directorial debut of the Superman franchise movies. No they should have brought on board Richard Donner as the main director with Tom Manikiewics as the creative consultant with Bryan Singer as the assistant director for the more modern action sequence parts of the movie. But I defend the profile picture as ultimate and all true crest "S" symbol of all time. There will never be a better version then Superman Returns Superman outfit according to me and the crest is in my mind perfect. Zack Snyder took away everything what Richard Donners true view what a Superman movie should be and the flushed it down the drain. I meen what kind of a Superman fan are you if you make him a soilder kind of charecter. What kind of Superman/Clark Kent"spoiler alert" are you if you let your earth father die in a tornado when he could do something about it and save him. Just because no one has to find out who he is. Superman/Kal-El could have saved him so fast and smart that no one would have ever thought that is was him that did it. In Reeves movie Jonathan dies of a heart attack and THAT not even Superman can do nothing about, quote frome movie"of all these powers, and could not even save him". Because he could not do it. But in Znyders version he could easy have done it. so the fact is Zack Syder does not know a thing about what Superman can do or what his capable of doing or not. Therefore I think that they missed Zack Snyder as one of Superman top 10 villains just becuse he Is trying to destroy who Superman really is.
Doomsday should be at the very top, he's the eternal bane of superman who can't truly be killed and is the only villain who successfully kills Superman and doesn't need kryptonite or technology to do it
they could have, but did not. Killing some one doesn't make you better, writer just made doomday and wrote that he must kill. Seeing the quality of character, lex luthor and Darkseid must top
In MY Opinion: Nr. 1) Darkseid Nr. 2) General Zod/Jax-Ur Nr. 3) Brainiac Nr. 4) Lex Luthor Nr. 5) Metallo (John Corben) Nr. 6) Livewire (Leslie Willis) Nr. 7) Parasite (Rudy Jones) Nr. 8) Volcana (Clair Selton) Nr. 9) Lobo Nr. 10) Doomsday
I agree Lex is number 1, but Zod should have been much lower... Around 5 or so. Doomsday should have been number 2 since he actually managed to kill Superman.
Superman two greatest villians are Darkseid and Lex Luthor. Brainic should be number 3 and Doomsday and Zod can be a toss up. Darkseid started as a Superman villian, people need to stop just referencing the New 52, which I don't much care for, and study the whole history of the characters. Darkseid is as smart as Lex Luthor and has a command over alot more threats than Lex (he has a whole army and planet under his control). I agree with one of the posts that Doomsday is Superman's Bane.
+Emmanuel Roberson i disagree brainiac is a living computer he's much more powerful than zod, doomsday, darkseid, lex, superman and all the rest put together
but the story is still better than your MAN OF STEEL. and in that time there was no such good things as VFX. this is the problem with you guys you only see looks, you don't see the play.
i will never compare Man of steel and Superman 2. They were perfect for their Generation, Superman 2 Budget was $55. Man of steel Budget was $240 something..
oh... well if lex luthor were to be a true brainiac and want to kill superman.. couldent he clone doomsday and fix the brain so he would listen to luthor? o.o or id atleast expect brainiac to do that
h0m3st4r well if they wanted to they could keep superman a god that was impossible to stop that could blow up a planet with a snap of his fingers or a twinkle in his eyes could destroy anything if he bloody wanted, if he wanted he could come up with as many superpowers imaginable, the reason superman is so super is they had so many powers on the flash that when they decided to cut them down they had to many powers and decided to make him damn near invincible anyways, and when they show he has possibilities to die they dont let him, they give him new bullshit lol so as i find it superman is overrated ;) i just like the villains cause they are possibly the best villains only topper is batmans joker i reply to you as a way to speak to all, have a good day and ik i was not arguing just stating why i think superman is bad with just about everything
Ok...for those wondering about Kal-El's new power: the Super Flare is basically a more powerful version of his Heat Vision that makes him a burst of pure heat.mthe downside is that it uses up all of his solar energy, so he's essentially depowered for 24 hours.
The 500 comment long debate below is a perfect example of why the comic book culture if failing. I came back after three months and that debate still hasn't gone anywhere at all. I refuse to get back into it as temping as it is. I will say that I do think more Superman haters need to stop bashing all their opinions of him on their own bias. The OP of the comment chain is an example of why I get irked by Superman haters. The OP seems to have genuine hatred for a fictional character and refuses to even give him a try. Gets furious when people debate him. He claimed to have done research but it's obvious that he hasn't. Many people already refuted him but he refuses to accept it. I will admit that he actually mellowed out in the past three months and I'm glad he did, I just wish he'd be more willing to actually try to read some good Superman comics instead of just brushing them off. But one thing I have to tackle is the ''Most powerful character every made'' comment by him.....That one right there baffles me to no end. I can understand overpowered but most powerful of all time? I don't think he's read many comics or watched many anime. That's all I have to say, I don't wanna disrespect anyone or start any arguments myself.
Superman's strongest villain is Frank Miller, he has the power to destroy superman with just a pen. He can take away powers as he pleases make him weaker or even make him lose to batman with a ridiculous armor
Honestly, for Man of Steel, they should've used a villain that hasn't been in a Superman movie yet. Why not use Metallo, Parasite, or even some other underused villain? They really should reserved the invasion concept for later.
Number 10: Parasite Number 9: Bizzaro Number 8: Cyborg Superman Number 7: Brainiac Number 6: Doomsday Number 5: Silver Banshee Number 4: Toy Man Number 3: General Zodd Number 2 Lex Luther Number 1: Batman
Don't miss these other great videos, Top 10 DC Superheroes Top 10 Superhero Movie Costumes Superhero Origins: The Justice League of America Supervillain Origins: Darkseid
+Tipah Mazli Bengaltiger no 1: the fact that batman didn't have a single thing to save Dick Grayson from a ROCK. Holy rocks batman! Super man is weak to kryptonite, nightwing? Rocks. Ordinary rocks.
Batman only in justice league, became in that cartoon if they don't fight against a villain they fight against each other to combat boredom and probably justify their payroll, and maybe speculating but pretty sure Batman is the one who pays them, and guess who is the one who ask for more money at the end of the month.
I consider Darkseid more of a justice league villain rather than a superman villain I mean in the new 52 he's responsible for the justice league coming together
Ted Tyson He IS a Superman Villain. How could you not be a Villain when you kill your own race entirely? And he enjoy's killing! How can Lobo not be a Villain?
Ted Tyson Wolverine fights for good. He SAVES people!! Lobo KIIIIIIIIILLLLSSSS people and fight's for himself!! I actually can't believe you think he is more of a Teen Titan's Villain than a Superman Villain!! WHAT??? I'm just gonna stop commenting after this.
***** i guess but the Death of Superman was a very overrated and boring book imo. It featured Doomsday - who at the time was a completely new villain with no backstory and was thus just some big dumb monster who just happened to be stronger than Superman - beating the living day lights out ofsuperman and that was out. If they were gonna kill ("kill") superman they should've had a villain with history do it. Lex Luther would have been my go to for obvious reasons but Brainac and Darksied are other possibilities.
Super Sablei Doomsday is to Superman, what Bane is to Batman IMO. Neither of those villains had a complicated backstory, but they didn't need one since they proved how dangerous they are when they killed/broke the protagonist. One of them is a mercenary while the other is a blood-thirsty monster, those are their backstories and they're good enough. Doomsday is interesting because he proved that not even Superman is above death. He silenced all of the people who were complaining about how overpowered Superman is and how he always wins. He made Superman a sympathetic figure.
***** She's a 3-Dimentional character and has an interesting back story. The first time we got introduced to Superboy Prime as a major villain had him say this: "I'll Kill you to DEATH!"
***** He lost his world, yes, but his personality is as bland a plain toast due to the fact that his more 'villainous' attributes aren't really that well done. So aside from his backstory, there isn't much for Superboy prime.
Here’s my ranking: 1. Lex Luthor 2. Superboy Prime 3. Doomsday 4. Darksied 5. General Zod 6. Cyborg Super 7. Ultraman 8. Brianiac 9. Mr Mxyzptlk 10. Livewire Doesn’t it bug anyone else that Superboy prime has never been in animation or live action before? Seriously don’t they know how much of a galactic threat Superboy prime is. He’s immune to nearly all types of kryptonite which makes him almost indestructible.
Doomsday should have been first because he can defeat Superman with his bear hands, and whenever he dies, the last thing that killed him can't kill him anymore...
Are all characters in the Superman world overpowered or something? Wouldn't at some point he'd start killing himself in the dumbest or most creative ways so that he could never possibly die again?
***** I honestly don't know much about it, that why I'm asking. I wasn't sure if all of the characters were in the same timeline or not, rather than simply just being under the DC brand.
BradTheAmerican In my opinion, Superman's enemies created to go head-to-head with Superman himself, or the entire Justice League, for example: Darkseid, Doomsday, Brainiac, General Zod, etc. because he's an overpowered hero, the writers felt making his enemies a lot stronger...
No darkseid is not just strong, he has never lost to superman in the new 52. Lex Luthor is powerful too you idiot. He has beaten batman to a fight. He is a little weaker than batman (which is very strong) and he is the smartest living being in DC. The only thing more intellectual is braniac
Also darkseid was able to destroy the justice league, one shot superman, and so on. Doomsday was able to beat darkseid, destroy the justice league, so on. Lex Luthor is merely batman on brain steroids.
Do you even understand how a top list works? It says "TOP 10 Superman Villains" not "TOP 10 Most powerful/strongest Superman villains" This list makes reference to the most iconic Superman villains. Say whatever you want but Zodd and Doomsday are not more iconic than Braniac and Darkseid. PD: Don't be rude if you disagree, that's childish.
Doomsday will always be my personal favorite just cause I love those villains who are insane forces of Nature that just cant be fucked with. Darkseid is a close 2nd to me though.
I agree with you
I would add Mr. Mxyzptlk to the list of forces of nature. agreed
I agree with this doomsday way too op he's like a Saiyan and kryptonian mixed 10x Broly strength I'm SURE OF IT.
I'm Lex Luthor and I approve of this list.
Fist me daddy
+Lex Luthor WOW.. you must be so happy you are #1
Sharon miller You bet I am! And I deserve it.
+Lex Luthor curse you led Luther
Myles Harrington Yes, of course. I'm #1 in all.

7) Metallo
8) Toyman
9) Mr. Mxyzptlk
10) Cyborg Supes

lol
i 100% agrees with u i always put darkseid one of best villains in the list
Princess Molestia number 1 should be doomsday. Every time he dies, he'll be reborn and will be immune to what killed him
Princess Molestia i so agree.
I'd put doomsday above Luthor unlike pretty much everyone. I just love him too much.
Personally I think Darkseid is a better antagonist than Lex Luthor. I know Lex is intelligent and a Psychological villain but Darkseid is not only very intelligent but a Powerhouse aswell. I love Lex and give him respect where its due but I think Darkseid is better since he is physically a match for superman without gadgets or kryptonite.
thats true
in terms of villians who could kick supermans ass then that one of the obvious choice for no.1 but in terms of better villians,Lex is 10 times better than him its like joker and batman, joker is nowhere near a pjisical match for batman but he provides a better challenge for him
with Darkseid, I agree with you, but what about Superman Prime?, he actually destruyed multiple Earths and heros across the DC multiverse, and Superman Never defeated him in a one on one match.
ErenionAncalima1 Yea but its just another Nega Superman, like Cyborg Superman, Justice lord superman and Bizarro Superman. Darkseid is an original villain so I prefer him
JaxBlade Darkseid is more of a JLA villain
It boggles my mind that Brainiac has never been in a movie
I bet you he eventually will be with the DC movies rolling out
John McLellan Yeah, it just annoys me that it's taken this long
There is a animated movie I thinks there is 2 but i might be wrong
Ethan Bultman Yeah I know how many times he's popped up in cartoons, but after 6 movies I would've hoped he'd made an appearance already.
+Rowan J Coleman He has been in a movie. He was in the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron.Yeah his name was Ultron instead of braniac though
A: Knock Knock
B: Who's there?
A: Interrupting Lex Luthor
B: Interrupting Lex Luth-
A: WRONG!!!
The Joker is considered as Batman's #1 villain yet he has no training in martial arts, and he's just human with no powers. For me darkseid is his nemesis , since superman never holds back when fighting him. He just hates Darkseid so much that he want him dead.
Akil manaz doomsday is powerful. he is one of my favorite strong guys better a slight than hulk. what made joker no1 is his constant pestering spanning nearly 80 years. multi dimension character, great actors, different versions and someone who has the antithesis of the serious batman. doomsday or bane are powerful monsters but they are more near one hit wonders to do a stunt. doomsday remained powerful but remained a jobber already!

matthew parker No, he's the grand daddy of *all* Superheroes

number one should have been goku fanboys
2nd should be the Batman fanboys.
Tbh superman fanboys themselves aren't better
Dredgen Yor he’s not a villain
Nassim Azzam Superman fanboys are practically non-existent
@@cosmicwolf9918 what do you mean ? Is this a sentence for smarl life forms ?
Mongul should be on the actual list
10. Mister Mxyzptlk
9. Metallo
8. Bizarro
7. Gog
6. Anti-Monitor
5. General Zod
4. Darkseid
3. Doomsday
2. Brainiac
1. Lex Luthor
Your top 5 is perfect
+Emperor Palpatine May the Force be with you.
+Emperor Palpatine Do you even know who Anti Monitor is? you stupid fuck
Anti minister was not exclusively a superman villain. However, all in all, gr8 list
***** Darkseid views Superman as the only true threat.
I wish Lobo was in the list
I did have in mind to have my character, James Gilliam fight Lobo twice, their first fight would be in the "Mean Green Machine " chapter of my series, the James Gilliam Chronicles, their second one would be in the "Battle of the Bounty Hunters "chapter
@Venom Jay he kill a entier specie...
Yeah me as well lobo can make this list
Superman's best villains: Darkseid, Brainiac, Lex Luthor, Manchester Black, General Zod, Doomsday.
Runners up: Mongul, Metallo, Parasite, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Intergang.
Pretty good: Livewire, Silver Banshee, Atomic Skull
lol, You said Manchester Black... good joke.
you know what your talking about
I wasn't trying to be snarky, but Manchester Black, while a pretty decent character, was quite short lived, wasn't quite a "villain," definitely not one of Supes' top rivals, and was defeated, along with his whole team, despite having put together a big elaborate plan to take out the Man of Steel.
Zod... Above Darkseid? above Brainiac? above Doomsday?
well he is kryptonian ,it like a evil superman version of him, very powerful.
But still above doomsday. He killed superman.
Thats why i love Superman so much
Dracula , here’s my Top 6 Superman Villains List, 1 Metallo, 2 Parasite, 3 General Zod, 4 Lex Luthor, 5 Doomsday, 6 Atomic Skull
Wrong Doomsday 1
Luke VanSteenlandt wrong lex luthor is 1
Wondimu Fikadu doomsday #2 lex 1 and3 darcide an 4 zod
Leroys96 CS i agree
But over the past 10 years DC has morphed him
More to be a justice league villain rather than a Superman villain.
Aaron Leandre I thought the countdown would be... top 3... Lex Luthor, Brainiac and Darkside.
No darkseid is more of a Justice league enemy
2:21 - 2:32_Out of context, if you just listen to the audio it sounds dirty
LOL
Rocksteady better make a Superman Game. =(
It's impossible at this point of time and technology.
With George Newbern Voicing Superman
Buildings. Buildings are Superman's archnemesis.
Seriously, Zod ahead of Darkseid? It usually takes the Justice League to stop Darkseid. Supe alone stops Zod and his two goons.
Wrong. Darkseid has been defeated by superman alone, as Darkseid is Justice league villain he has been shown stronger.
In other comic Zod and Faora defeated Superman + Wonder woman
True.
In the Superman/Batman comic (NOT the animated movie), Superman went all out and not only beat up Darkseid, but trapped him in the source wall..
Fine, but flash still beats all.
Flash beats all until one punch from zod in his face.
A lot of these guys deserve to be in movies including Metallo, Bizzaro and Cyborg Superman
I agree with you there, Superman has some incredible supervillains, Metallo is my favorite.
Brainiac is my favorite Supermanvillain :) . I really hope he will appear in a Man of Steel Sequel :)
NEVER . BCOZ HE HAS NO BRAIN HAHAHA
Madhira Vagmi I will take that as a Joke, he is the most intelligent being in Universe
*****
NO , IT`S NO. 3
I absolutely love Parasite's voice in the animated series. He sounds so snarky and menacing, but at the same time has so much humanity and likability to his character.
No. 1 should be Zack Snyder.
How about your mom?
***** Batman and Superman weren't major parts of my childhood. Not the comics anyways.
***** lmfaoo sounds like TH-cam in general tbvh
hahahhaha this movie wasnt bad at all
nope, if you indeed read and watch Superman comics. his Superman is actually the closest to Superman lore ever, the post COIE version.
Both Terrence Stamp's and Michael Shannon's portrayal of General Zod are fantastic and awesome.
Very nice list! Don't entirely agree with the order, but all of the villains listed deserve a place here.
My personal favorites:
10. Parasite
9. Mr. Mxyzptlk
8. Bizarro
7. Mongul
6. General Zod
5. Metallo
4. Doomsday
3. Brainiac
2. Darkseid
Darkseid is pretty bad, but no one gets under Superman's skin quite like Luthor.
bibleanddisneyfan
Seriously that makes sense, loved the comparison you made between the two characters, between Darkseid and Luther it is true no one could irritate both Superman and Clark more than Lex, he is just that pompous prick in high school who always bested you despite all your efforts to overcome and do your best.
ThaFreshmaker Sorry for the late reply. Thanks. I love how you simplified it. lol Seriously. That comparison to high school bully is perfect!
As A big fan of the Man Of Tomorrow, I must say, this is a Superb list.
THEN WAT ABOUT MAN OF TODAY U DOG ? HAHAHA
Darkseid should be at # 1!
cxm he's not really a superman villain
cxm darkseid has defeated the entire league i dont think he is a fair enemy for supes
piero CORNEJO He was originally a Superman villain though.
cxm originally yeah, but he's usually much more powerful
Hark Singh Fair enough.
Doomsday>Hulk. plus Technically Doomsday even if killed will Regenerate itself and then can't be killed by the thing he died of,he gets stronger and stronger everytimes he dies.
Hulk is really really strong poddibly as strong as doomsday but his regeneration factor and his indistructable skin put doomsday ontop by a long shot
Technically, Doomsday can be killed off permanently. At least, prior to the New 52, where he was thrown at the end of existence, where even he couldn't resist the physical forces of pure entropy.
Very true
Saral Thakur hulk is strong and can go toe to toe with doomsday but nothing can be said as both beings are OP and cannot be killed(well not now)
Kal-El of krypton deadpool killed hulk,so did. Punisher. lmfao.
Hmmm interesting, thank you for educating all of us on this; I now have to go read the comic and watch the shows again
J
It is funny you should mention only villain superman is willing to kill because Superman has killed first comic book incarnation of Zod, Faora, Quex-UI, and Doomsday.
Funny that I forgot about that. Although since Doomsday can't really die, do you count that?
Scott Peterson Doomsday can die but his body will eventually reanimate its self like some bugs can do.
Doomsday is EASILY far stronger and more dangerous than Zod, wtf?
Very very true
he's also nowhere near as smart or tactically minded or able to take control of armies or strategic points like reversing the sun's polarity so he can absorb red sunlight while Superman is drained. Hence why Zod gets one over Doomsday.
Again thats true aswell, lets think of it this way....with prep zod is a killer ....without prep doomsday is beast
Man Justice League was such a great show!!! Good job Bruce Timm
No animated series Luthor clips? That's easily the best interpretation of the character IMO.
Yes, not wrong.
Doomsday's sole purpose is not just to destroy, it is to evolve. And I'm not sure I completely agree with this list
I'm not a Superman fan but I will admit he does have a few good villains.
They certainly have the best villain of all time which is the Joker. When it comes to Marvel the villain that is a close call is Bullseye.

"There's only one way this ends, Kal. Either you die, or I do."
But you just listed two possible outcomes...
but it will end in one way.
It was supporsed to be a foreshadowing for the death of General Zod
5. Braniac
4. Zod
3. Darkseid
2. Doomsday
1. Lex Luthor
agreed
agreed
agreed
Darkseid isn't a Superman villain specifically. He's a DC universe villain. Or even more accurately a New Gods villain.
***** I disagree, he targets superman more than anyone when he's fighting the Justice League
They forgot Zack Snyder.
says the guy who has Superman Returns Symbol as his Profile Pic.
*****
The Symbol/crest is perfect.
This Proves that you did not understand Man of steel
*****
What is it to understand about it. And perhaps you and others view of how Superman should be is twisted and wrong.
again go watch the movie understand it. Its Origin Movie, he wasn't perfect....
10:Cyborg Superman
9:Mister bla bla bla bla
8:Parasite
7:Bizzaro
6:Matallo
5:General Zod
4:Brainiac
3:Doomsday
2:Darkseid
1:Lex Luthor
Number one batman or Lois lane
Doomsday should be at the very top, he's the eternal bane of superman who can't truly be killed and is the only villain who successfully kills Superman and doesn't need kryptonite or technology to do it
Darkseid, Zod, Parasite don't need that
***** but did they kill him.
they could have, but did not. Killing some one doesn't make you better, writer just made doomday and wrote that he must kill.
Seeing the quality of character, lex luthor and Darkseid must top
Ok fair enough.
In MY Opinion:
Nr. 1)
Darkseid
Nr. 2)
General Zod/Jax-Ur
Nr. 3)
Brainiac
Nr. 4)
Lex Luthor
Nr. 5)
Metallo (John Corben)
Nr. 6)
Livewire (Leslie Willis)
Nr. 7)
Parasite (Rudy Jones)
Nr. 8)
Volcana (Clair Selton)
Nr. 9)
Lobo
Nr. 10)
Doomsday
I agree Lex is number 1, but Zod should have been much lower... Around 5 or so. Doomsday should have been number 2 since he actually managed to kill Superman.
Regen Gamer yeah he did.... superman was literally dead because of doomsday......
I love how Superman says he destroyed all pieces of Kryptonite when a whole bunch of villains and Batman still have some
Sure dat
I actually really liked Man of Steel.
That's trash doomsday cold flick lex luther and not break a sweat.
+Emmanuel Roberson i disagree brainiac is a living computer he's much more powerful than zod, doomsday, darkseid, lex, superman and all the rest put together
+BombDom stronger or you mean smarter. Cuz doomsday would rip that mechanical freak in half
SMARTER
HAVEN,T YOU HEARD HAVING A BIG BRAIN IS BETTER THAN HAVING BIG MUSCLES
The old Zod looks stupid as shit, the new one looks so much better
1980's Movie what the hell did you expect ?
but the story is still better than your MAN OF STEEL. and in that time there was no such good things as VFX.
this is the problem with you guys you only see looks, you don't see the play.
i will never compare Man of steel and Superman 2. They were perfect for their Generation, Superman 2 Budget was $55. Man of steel Budget was $240 something..
budget doesn't matter. quality matters, not the graphics quality. the play.
budget doesn't matter are u fucking kiddingme
Should have shown clips from Justice League when talking about Lex Luthor, far better portrayal than any live action ones
wasnt one of the things about doomsday, that every time he is killed he becomes invulnerable by what killed him?
I think that is with his origins the scientist were cloning him and giving him the power to get past what ever killed him last time.
oh... well if lex luthor were to be a true brainiac and want to kill superman.. couldent he clone doomsday and fix the brain so he would listen to luthor? o.o or id atleast expect brainiac to do that
I kind of think DC jumped the shark with Superman's (already questionable) narrative at Doomsday.
superman killed doomsday but i cost superman his life in the movie superman doomsday
h0m3st4r well if they wanted to they could keep superman a god that was impossible to stop that could blow up a planet with a snap of his fingers or a twinkle in his eyes could destroy anything if he bloody wanted, if he wanted he could come up with as many superpowers imaginable, the reason superman is so super is they had so many powers on the flash that when they decided to cut them down they had to many powers and decided to make him damn near invincible anyways, and when they show he has possibilities to die they dont let him, they give him new bullshit lol so as i find it superman is overrated ;) i just like the villains cause they are possibly the best villains only topper is batmans joker i reply to you as a way to speak to all, have a good day and ik i was not arguing just stating why i think superman is bad with just about everything
1. Lex Luthor
2. Darkseid
3. Brainiac
4. General Zod
5. Mr. Mxyzptlk
They all are on the list
Doomsday is to Venom, who Zod is to Doc Ock, who Lex Luthor is to Green Goblin.
Venom is the best
Venom is hardly a villain anymore (and hasn't been for over 25 years)
These guys have nothing in common... -_-
Keith Filibeck Damn. He's still the best xD
***** Yea I think the Joker is a better villian (ish) but Venoms cooler, Scarier and could actally beat Spiderman in a 1v1.
Ok...for those wondering about Kal-El's new power: the Super Flare is basically a more powerful version of his Heat Vision that makes him a burst of pure heat.mthe downside is that it uses up all of his solar energy, so he's essentially depowered for 24 hours.
Lex Luthor, General Zod, Darkseid and Doomsday are by far the top four.
I'd put doomsday behind braniac and darkseid but I'm biased
This list is perfect
Doomsday is the grea-

#1: Batman
:D
Lego Superman Movie's Lez Luther:
Batman isn't a bad guy

Yeah no.

Who didn't see Lex Luthor being Number One?
Superman's strongest villain is Frank Miller, he has the power to destroy superman with just a pen. He can take away powers as he pleases make him weaker or even make him lose to batman with a ridiculous armor
Jan Carlos Rivera though he is a extradimensional imp though
And Frank Miller's boss can erase him from a job at any time.
Jan Carlos Rivera 😄
Dark sied is a perfect villian for superman
do top 10 Spider Man villains!
Honestly, for Man of Steel, they should've used a villain that hasn't been in a Superman movie yet. Why not use Metallo, Parasite, or even some other underused villain? They really should reserved the invasion concept for later.

Number 9: Bizzaro
Number 8: Cyborg Superman
Number 7: Brainiac

You arent the only one, i thought so too

Yeah, I thought that too but ultimately, watch mojo uses the same obvious answer all the time, sorry, watch mojo.
TheGamingTaco Fuck off taco. Don't be such a fan nerd. He's right, you're wrong.
number 1: kryptonite
no 1:the rock that killed dick grayson in injustice universe
Bryan Singer is number 1.
+Tipah Mazli Bengaltiger no 1: the fact that batman didn't have a single thing to save Dick Grayson from a ROCK. Holy rocks batman! Super man is weak to kryptonite, nightwing? Rocks. Ordinary rocks.
Number 1 Superman enemy: kryptonite!
And what about... Batman... :3
Jenzel Tassia stfu xD
Batman only in justice league, became in that cartoon if they don't fight against a villain they fight against each other to combat boredom and probably justify their payroll, and maybe speculating but pretty sure Batman is the one who pays them, and guess who is the one who ask for more money at the end of the month.
Jenzel Tassia Batman have never defeated Superman, also Kryptonite doesn't kills Superman, it just weakens him.
really? i heard that if he gets exposed for a long period of time he turns green and dies by kryptonite poisoning, is like radioactive to him.
No, 1 should be anybody who is holding his mom hostage
lmao
you mean kgbeast...
duh
Have you ever read something called comics
Why did you say that name???
I consider Darkseid more of a justice league villain rather than a superman villain
I mean in the new 52 he's responsible for the justice league coming together
anawesomechannel But Darkseid has messed with Superman on multiple occasions before the League even came together.
He was first introduced as a villain of superman, so he historically is originally a superman villain although he is the greatest villain of the JLA
Right
+anawesomechannel Out of all the JLA Members, Superman is the only one Darkseid feels threatened by.
+anawesomechannel i agree i've seen batman fight him on many occasions as well as other heros helping him

But Lobo once joined Young Justice, Justice League of America and L.E.G.I.O.N

so can darkseid, brainiac, zod, parasite

Doomsday is boring! why #2?
Super Sablei My opinion man. He is one badass ass-kicking son of a bitch IMO. He is also the only one who killed Superman.
What? no love for Livewire? They seriously put Superbrat Prime in here but not Livewire?
***** I mean, out of the DCAU villains, Livewire has an intersting personality AND she was in the comics, so she can still be used in this list.
***** She's a 3-Dimentional character and has an interesting back story. The first time we got introduced to Superboy Prime as a major villain had him say this:
"I'll Kill you to DEATH!"
***** He lost his world, yes, but his personality is as bland a plain toast due to the fact that his more 'villainous' attributes aren't really that well done. So aside from his backstory, there isn't much for Superboy prime.
Loosing his world is a very over used back story. You Know just saying.
Here’s my ranking:
1. Lex Luthor
2. Superboy Prime
3. Doomsday
4. Darksied
5. General Zod
6. Cyborg Super
7. Ultraman
8. Brianiac
9. Mr Mxyzptlk
10. Livewire
Doesn’t it bug anyone else that Superboy prime has never been in animation or live action before? Seriously don’t they know how much of a galactic threat Superboy prime is. He’s immune to nearly all types of kryptonite which makes him almost indestructible.
Doomsday should have been first because he can defeat Superman with his bear hands, and whenever he dies, the last thing that killed him can't kill him anymore...
Are all characters in the Superman world overpowered or something? Wouldn't at some point he'd start killing himself in the dumbest or most creative ways so that he could never possibly die again?
*****
I honestly don't know much about it, that why I'm asking.
Marshall!
Superman won that fight b/c he didn't actually die. His body just hibernated.
Why no Smallville clips?
My opinion of this list.......WWRRRRROOOOOONNNNGGGG!!!!! -Lex Luthor
#1 Darkseid
#2 Doomsday
#3 Brainiac
#4 Lex Luthor
#5 Zod
#6 Mongul
#7 Superboy Prime
#8 Metallo
#9 Cyborg Superman
#10 Batman
R u fucking kidding me!? Zodd and Doomsday over Braniac and Darkseid?????? Even Lex Luthor as #1 is understandable, but Zodd and Doomsday??
Darkseid is less powerful than doomsday end of story
Mobile Montage Strength doesn't make a good villain. Lex Luthor is the weakest one but is one of the best.
It says "TOP 10 Superman Villains" not "TOP 10 Most powerful/strongest Superman villains"
This list makes reference to the most iconic Superman villains. Say whatever you want but Zodd and Doomsday are not more iconic than Braniac and Darkseid.
PD: Don't be rude if you disagree, that's childish.
Knew who was #1 before the video loaded.
Donald Trump should be number 1
1 lex luthor
2 doomsday
3 darksied
4 genrald zod
5 braniac
6 metallo
7 bizzaro
8 cyborg superman
9 mr mxytlk
10 mongul
Gaming Monster - PS4 no he's Americas greatest villain.
Darkseid is #4?......
I think Solomon Grubdy deserved to be here.
He is a batman villan
Superman13195 i thought he was only a batman enemy
I've always had a soft spot for Manchester Black
I really need a new superman film. The epitome of a real superhero. It hurts seeing WB make him irrelevant.
BRING SUPERMAN BACK
Darkseid is easily #1
doomsday should have been 1
Doomsday is the Bane of Superman.
(facepalm)
yes, he killed superman
+Kolton Gross Too bad, bitch.
