I am very relieved too. Very rarely people in power, politicians, lawyers, celebrities face consequences for their actions. I'm glad they threw the book at him. It was the timeline, the phone records, and the kennel video and other odd things, like his clothes missing from earlier that day and there was no blood transfer on him when 'checked the bodies" that sealed his guilt for me. The timeline leaves no room for anyone else to have been there. They got the right man.
And Buster being involved with what happened to Stephen Smith ...., and Maggie with the house keeper, and Paul with the girl on the boat.... what a family ...
They were all connected to a lot of sketchy stuff. Most people never have to experience murder, mysterious deaths, accidental deaths in their lives; but this family was so involved in all of the above senerio's. Not normal 😕
Aside from the incredible job Creighton did and the rest of the prosecution team, Judge Clifton Newman was gracious in his demeanor. How difficult it must have been to preside over this trial after tragically losing his own son in January.
The whole immediate Murdaugh family seems corrupt, including Alex's brothers, the one anyway. It's just ashame so many people had to die before justice was finally served. I hope they look more into the death of the housekeeper and Steven Smith's death from 2015. Those deaths seem really suspicious. I have a feeling someday we'll all be watching Buster's trial on this channel.
I believe Randy Murdaugh was the only decent family member. He and Alex were not close from the beginning and haven't spoken to each other since the trial.
I still can't get that slip from AM out of my head - "she asked me to leave" I'm not surprised he couldn't retell the last conversations with his wife and son
@@moonfall8972 I thought the same when I first seen Alex mention that but I put it down to shock. In reality I doubt very much he took their pulse it just made him sound innocent in his head. Same way he asked cops on body cam are they both dead, he knew the answer but was trying to act innocent and concerned. If either had took a single breath when cops shown up they could have whispered who done it before dying that's the only thing he was concerned about and the reason he asked police that question.
@@mrjasondylan he knew they were dead before he left. Probably if/when he checked the pulse. That’s why he said are they “dead” not are they “alive”. His father had a message here in town. He never wanted any live witnesses on the stand

He damaged his law firm, his lawyer friends, & the clients from whom he stole and cheated. He destroyed his family and his wife's family & damaged his clan big-time. Horrible monster of a person IMO.
Alex became more emboldened after each crime...he had a power trip for decades. This is where it leads to and where it ends. It feels good to see justice served. Well played Prosecution team.
It won't be over until the law enforcement that covered up all the crimes committed by the Murdoch family for years is prosecuted. If they had done their job Maggie and Paul would still be alive.
Yes it’s the right ending BUT it’s still so incredibly sad that this man lived that life and when it got too hard he chose killing his family over saving his family. How can a human, father or husband do this
Because he is not normal myself I'm sure you too and most normal people would rather die than kill loved ones in cold blood. I wouldn't want to live after that and couldn't live with myself but that shows the type of person he really is.
@@mrjasondylan Agree Jason. AM ain't normal! However God can reach even the most hardened criminals so who knows his ultimate destination when he dies.
It is incredibly sad. I even feel sadness for Alex as in look how twisted and messed up he made his life. He had what most people pray for. A loving wife, healthy kids, a lucrative career, houses, boats, cars, trucks, toys, loyal friends and extended family. He could have worked through and taken accountability for things like the boat case, and addiction. It’s too bad he didn’t see that.
Domestic violence often goes unreported because the victims are ashamed and embarrassed and it's very possible that he was abusive towards Maggie and she just never told anyone because she wanted to preserve the perfect image of their family if you watch the Netflix documentary Paul was abusive towards his girlfriend often boys learned it from their fathers so I wouldn't be surprised if he was abusive of towards his wife. She definitely didn't want to go see him that last day which is a telltale sign
Absolutely horrific story. Feel bad for everyone touched by this tragedy. I can’t imagine my last moments knowing my own father was killing me and my Mom died trying to stop it. Rest in paradise, Paul and Maggie. On a side note, the Netflix mini series on the Murdaughs was so hard to watch. 😢💔
@Cher65p4 K I agree. It's quite possible that even Alex doesn't know what happened that night. I'm not easily convinced of things like this case. We will never know the truth. There were far, far too many holes in the story of the prosecutors. I truly believe that Alex could be innocent of these charges. Is he a good person? No. Is he a murderer? I don't know.
@@schrankm the thought of his innocence coming out later on and a real killer is caught will be catastrophic and unimaginable. I think so many people, including this prosecution will try their hardest to cover that up. I'm not easily convinced of his guilt neither. Hats off to the jurors and everyone on Mr Waters team ,Sled and witnesses. For making AM accountable for all his crimes and double murders . It's so haunts me hearing Maggie , Paul and Alec on dog tail video. The victims were doing their normal thing. Talking to Alec having no clue he was looking at them with hate and rage ready to shoot them dead . I think after AM shot Paul he could of yelled to Maggie that Paul shot himself. She runs to see horrific scene and AM shoots her in motion. Maggie had to know her husband in last moments shot Paul and now her. And never could fathom they were about to die minutes later after video. South Carolina people said enough

I can't imagine her terror seeing her husband killing her baby. Great work and I hope Mr. Waters gets some well deserved rest.
So sad for Maggie’s family. They have lived a nightmare from the night they were killed until now knowing he was guilty. It goes to show you how you really don’t know someone and what they are capable of.

Excellent work Mr. Creighton Waters, you and your TEAM did just GREAT, and don't let ALEX escape the consequences of his criminal actions !
Dream team for real. So proud of SC and our prosecution!!!
South Carolina seems like it's infested with uneducated hillbillz.
LOVED Creighton waters! He did an amazing job presenting the facts.
Aside from the incredible job Creighton did and the rest of the prosecution team, Judge Clifton Newman was gracious in his demeanor. How difficult it must have been to preside over this trial after tragically losing his own son in January.
This case will be studied for years to come in law and psychology education.
I for one am thankful this narcissistic sociopath will no longer be able to hurt anybody, because he clearly has zero remorse! 🙏♥️
Malignant narcissist. Don't ask them to be honest: they'll kill ya.
Yes the narcissist in this case hated that no victims wanted to speak. Not reacting to a narcissist makes them so angry.
Narcissists are incapable of having remorse and empathy.
Yes, he never apologized to anyone, he just said he "did them wrong".
@@RichardTN or they hurt him. Hard to believe they’re aren’t at least a few in there put away by him or his family
The lead DA deserves an🥇 award. At times I thought I was watching a Hollywood movie with lawyers against lawyers in a court.
The T shirt was not a mistake. It helped expose AM lies. If he had checked Maggie and Paul like he said he did, he would have had blood all over him!
And...with Paul's "brains at his feet" who would check for a pulse? I haven't seen any mention of this.
@@conniemccabe8208 Wow that's a powerful statement.. That's exactly what I thought of regarding Ms. Satterflield. Truly sad..
@@moonfall8972 Maggie also had brains blown out and she was shot five times.
Imagine Maggie’s sister. She took Alec in for months afterward. 💔
OMG.
My heart goes out to Maggie’s sister, I pray for peace
Right she’ll probably question herself now and everyone she allows in her life
Her testimony was so sad to watch, she is the only one who really seemed like she was hurt over the losses. And she still took Alex in. Bless her heart😫❤️
I’d like to know if anyone in the family had a relationship with God in their lives.
He damaged his law firm, his lawyer friends, & the clients from whom he stole and cheated. He destroyed his family and his wife's family & damaged his clan big-time. Horrible monster of a person IMO.
i wish i had a couple friends like he did & he threw them away.
Seriously. Used everyone around him for his own gain.
John Meadors put the bow on the box , best closing argument ever 👍
Yes it’s the right ending BUT it’s still so incredibly sad that this man lived that life and when it got too hard he chose killing his family over saving his family. How can a human, father or husband do this
A person without a conscience can do many things.
All I can say is, Lo! how the mighty have fallen.
Congratulations to everyone who helped put this man away! RIP Maggie and Paul!
Good point!
It was national tragedy.
To take on board this level of evil.
What is done in the darkness, will always be brought to the light.
Amen, yes it will.
Were you there? Nobody knows how it all played out. I won't go by their theory 🙄
But for the sake of our justice system, I sure hope they got it right!
Mr. Waters
We are so proud of you, thank you for pursuing justice
Incredible job Creighton Waters (you too AG for allowing your team to do excellent work and giving them the tools to do so)
I was struck by the silence in the court and outside!! It was a win for justice and Paul and Maggie! But such a sad tragic case! No wins!
That's right, and I believe that unfortunately there's a lot more madness to come to light regarding this awful situation.
Your closing arguments should be taught as the gold standard in all law schools 🏆🏆👏👏👏
These two guys summed this up perfectly. They are the perfect balance of humility, compassion, and vindication. Well done, Carolina, well done.
When Alex was on the stand talking about the type of person who would commit such a horrific crime, he was actually speaking about himself.
It’s called leakage.

Justice for Maggie and Paul
What was his motive?????????
Money!! But I don't think there was evidence to convict him.
Thank you for getting justice for Maggie and Paul! About an hour before you said, "Maggie was running to her baby," I had posted the same thing in a chat that was watching the trial. I can't imagine her terror seeing her husband killing her baby. Great work and I hope Mr. Waters gets some well deserved rest.
I.M.O. I think Maggie was in the wrong spot at the wrong time . Alex was going to kill Paul & Maggie seen it . Therefore , he shot her too .
Mags and Pau Pau.

@@Deeznuts-dw2lo if he didnt have any in tensions in killing his wife then why did he call her and tell her to meet him at that house
Maggie and Paul were not good people, they didn't deserve to die but there's a lot of people who didn't get justice because of their deaths.
So sad for Maggie’s family. They have lived a nightmare from the night they were killed until now knowing he was guilty. It goes to show you how you really don’t know someone and what they are capable of.
I'm sure there were plenty of signs of Alec being a lier even violent. To say you can't trust anyone isn't true but you have to pay attention to there miss deads.
@@j_rainsgoat3929 I think the comment was you don’t really know what people are capable & that’s true, however as humans we tend to trust those we love.
Agree
It is very sad. And there are more than just one lesson to learn from here. Shows how corrupt the system is. At least justice was rightfully served in this case. Besides many others on the other side of this table.
Called that karma.. Maggie was definitely apart of the housekeepers death.. and nobody is telling me differently..
WELL DONE GENTLEMEN!! WELL DONE......
Man I just watched the documentary and boy the whole family is gross. Mom, dad, kids, Grandpa etc. There are so many victims outside of this incident. All needs to come out
Mob/Crime family mentality for sure...all of them. Oh, and Good Ole Boy club all the way. It would make a very entertaining show actually.
@Elle N- both the Netflix and HBO documentaries offer really amazing (and sometimes different) insight and focus. If you can, watch them both. This family was in deep!

Agree, the whole family was toxic to the core.

Phenomenal prosecution, brilliant, well done! Let's also give huge props to the Judge, he's absolutely amazing! Thank you jurors!
The truly scary thing about the jury is that two were going not guilty at first. How could that be?
Well done Mr. Waters. You were brilliant! There are no winners, but justice was served.
