He was a good old boy just like they all were. Believe me all of them are suspicious. Who is friends with him was receiving benefits just like mr lafitte. And guess what? He’s not in prison even though he was convicted. These people make me sick!
Sadly, these witnesses are far more devastated than Alex has ever been about the loss of his son. Litigators with 30-40 years of experience, who know how to control their emotions and feelings. It’s been more than a year and a half and their heartbreak is still fresh. Alex Murdaugh is a sociopath, narcissistic, cold blooded snake. God bless and be with all of these broken hearted souls 💔🙏🏻
He's a terrible person obviously, but I do think at some point he regretted it, and many of his tears may be legit. He just didn't have to balls to kill himself.
I have never seen a more cold, calculating stare of guilt than when Alex stares at Ronnie after he id'd Alex's voice on the cell phone video. A complete example of the eyes revealing the soul.
Yes, the ripple effect. Just think how some of these gentlemen who were in AM law firm could of had a heart attack from the stress. Think what their wives even went through. The secretary’s and accountants. It’s all just tragic and horrible.

Wow.. Mr. Crosby was very obviously devastated by the death of the Murdaughs. He comes across as a very good friend and an honest man and I think this was extremely difficult for him, to testify.
He’s just a good actor just like Alex….No way the Firm didn’t know what Alex was doing for decades! What it comes down to is Alex is taking one for the Team however, they all will be taking care of Alex financially such as his attorney fees & whatever he wants & can have in prison for 👉the rest of his life to keep his mouth shut!
That is what I think there is no way the other lawyers did not know what was going on they took up for Alex and I do believe he and Maggie where arguing that why he does not remember what was going on at dinner and other times times

He does seem very passionate but also remember he’s a very good lawyer and they know what to say. He already knew how to answer these questions. He wouldn’t have answered those questions the way he did if he was not an atty. A friend would question why their friend took money. I would want to know if he was being threatened or what was going on? This was too clean! I’m not saying Alex is innocent but no one questioned where the money was? What happened to yearly reports. If my company invested money I would want to know where it was and the balance. You don’t trust anyone with that large amount of money.

As for his description of Paul, aside from the part where he describes Paul “hunting” wild hogs with hog dogs then killing them with a KNIFE, it’s very different from from what is already known about Paul, as a child then young adult. The word CRUEL was used , even as a young child , but the way Paul took pleasure in torturing and slaughtering wild hogs , putting dogs at risk of severe injury or death for the love of the sport, does give us a glimpse of what Paul was like.

This is so sad. Everybody talks about how Paul was spoiled, entitled, and responsible for Mallory's death, but this man remembers him as a longtime friend and a buddy to his own son, and he weeps.
This man’s children were considered equals, or nearly so, by Paul and possibly Maggie. Alec doesn’t consider anyone to be HIS equal. Everyone was there to meet his personal needs.
It was said that Paul was not the favorite with his father nor his mother. It's sad he didn't have the chance to become a better person. If his father killed him, which I believe he did, he knew it. That is a terrible way to die.
I am sure both sides of Paul were there. When someone has a drinking problem, they can change in behavior. as with all teens and kids in their early twenties, they show a different face to their friends than adults - I know I did.
Let's be real, he wasn't the only one drinking that night. They all had been. Accidents happen. Not like he did it on purpose. People see a family with money and automatically think they're entitled snobs without knowing them at all.
This is heartbreaking. I feel so sad for all the people who were deceived by the defendant. This witness obviously cared very deeply for the defendant and his family. 😞💔

Where everyone is a criminal one way or another. Our entire existence and social structure is inherently built upon harming one another for our own gain. It doesn't have to be a zero sum game, but it's hard to change such rigid rules of millenia. By the way, I was in prison with blue and white collar criminals alike. The guys from better financial backgrounds usually had more of these insane and drastic charges and stories. Ironically enough, because of people who didn't think they looked like a bad guy or a criminal. Just like Alex , they were skilled at the art of seduction and bullshit. So when the levee finally breaks , it breaks in spectacular fashion. The guys you think look like criminals typically didn't start that way, they just had a gradual increase in their crimes and severity - typically STARTING innocently enough because of a warped world view that allowed them to take riskier and riskier indulgences for the sake of survival or pleasure. As crazy as this case is, it's nothing new. One of the guys that stands out to me best is the regional flight traffic controller of the FAA for the entire Midwest region. He snapped one night and took a 30-30 and blew his wife's legs clean off. Ironically enough, again, they were arguing over money... Everyone wants more more more. He'd have gotten less time if she'd actually died too. Count your blessings folks, and open your mind a bit as to your own preconceived notions and your own ego and humility. We are all just walking different paths to the same places.
Well said, sir. We have ALL done things we are not proud of or could be in jail for, just not all are caught. We do not end up in the same place, most do end up 6ft deep but some will go with Jesus and the rest go to the lake of fire. It is our given free will to repent for our sins, as a sin is a sin and looked at as the same level even though murder is the most horrible, I believe, but so is lying and cheating. We can all choose to turn our lives around, come to repent and go to Jesus, and be better people that we need to be. We all need to realize, we are human, we make mistakes, be nice and lend out a hand to lift other off of their feet when they fall, it is not "if" it's "when" we fall that we need the most help. Agree. I mean look at all of us just watching the trial. I’ve cried COUNTLESS times. ESPECIALLY when Paul & Maggie’s injuries are explained. I didn’t even know these people and I’m sick, and devastated. I can’t begin to imagine the pain their friends and family are feeling. 😢

Would the witnesses not need to express grief and sorrow after finding one of the partners was misappropriating funds from trust funds administered by their firm. That’s quite an offense for a attorney.
People knew this man for decades and never really knew who he really was. So this questioning of him be loving husband and father doesn't hold up well.
Ya I don't know if I completely buy it. Maybe they didn't know all the details, but they had to know something was off. They probably choose to look the other way considering the money he was bringing in and his family name.

On a technical note: Every time I watch a witness taking the stand in this case, it bothers me that almost all of them have to bend forward to speak into the microphone. My question is: can't the microphone be adjusted so that they can just focus on the content of their answers rather than also think about being audible over the microphone?
It can't be adjusted much at all. This is the worst witness stand I've ever seen. The chair looks terribly uncomfortable, and the witnesses look uncomfortable. Meanwhile, the judge's chair is about a $500 chair. (I like the judge btw)

I didn't hear urgency and Paul continuously sounded as if he was aggravated with the dispatcher on the phone. I remember thinking she wasn't dead yet, and they needed that to happen before the EMT's arrived. Isn't it ironic the maid tried over a dog and died, them the wife and son dies in the dog kennels area. Faking his attempted murder/suicide Alex was shot (grazed) in the head, Paul brains were blown out, and the wife faired no better. Alex murder methods didn't seem to switch up much.

I was thrilled to hear a person speak in such measured tones, with such accuracy and thoughtfulness. Our society at large seems unable to communicate anymore. With hundreds of, "like... you know" peppering sentences, non-stop f-bombs, half sentences topped off with continual, "you know what I mean?". I am forever saying, "no I don't". Why should I hear half a dozen partial sentences, three dozen f-bombs and agree that a communication has taken place when it hasn't.
You are not alone. I was trying to pack for a trip as I have the week off, but I was drawn to the sweet and gentle nature of this man. He reminded me so much of my dear brother who has Alzheimer's disease. The witness was obviously devastated and wore his heart on his shirt sleeve. I guess we really don't know those we love as well as we think we do. Such a breach of trust and such a loss will always tear at his heart and memories. Poor guy. This is such a complex case, and there are so many excellent witnesses. Who knows where it will all end. A. Murdoch's face has such a flat affect. I wonder what he is thinking. His best friend was torn with grief and he is a blank page. Grief? Denial? Suppression of emotions?
Opiate users have a flattened affect. But I truly doubt the truth, as he states it , regarding his reported level of use. It seems clinically impossible to me.
If Crosby had watched the video of Paul at the dock (after Mallory was missing, dead) he would have seen the real Paul Murdaugh. In the ambulance, Paul was blaming others, even though he refused to give up piloting the boat. 3 witnesses reported Paul was the driver of the boat.
The pain is written all over his face. To be played like this must have hurt like hell when this all came out! Time has passed since this happened, but many are still affected by his crimes.
This man, Mr Crosby, is a very good and very kind man. Even after all this time he still tears up about Paul and you can tell that he loved him like a son. So sorry for all of the pain that AM has caused all these people.

AM immediately called his law firm partners to run over to the crime scene knowing it would create chaos, confusion and contamination. It was a pre-meditated attempt on AM’s part to destroy evidence. An innocent person, especially a person who has worked in any type of legal investigation, would know to preserve the integrity of the crime scene in order to find the killers. Tire tracks are particularly important in this case, and Alex knew that. What better way to eliminate that evidence than to invite people in to drive over it?
As a European, I will never understand how it is possible to be surrounded by so many guns in America. Finally start regulating it and you won't have these problems.

My husband and his brothers inherited a church from their late father. It took about 2 years before the other brothers realized that one had swindled 60 thousand dollars from the church account. This particular brother is charming, generous, larger than life personality! Their late father always sheltered the one brother from his financial failures, he even had accounts he used after their fathers death( in the dead father's name) It's not hard to see how Alec's partners could be blinded for a while, but eventually they knew what he was! I believe sooner than they are now publicly claiming!

The most important thing Crosby said in his testimony was that he definitely identified Alex Murdaugh speaking in the video that Paul had posted…proving Alex is lying.

What stuns me is that no one, not one lawyer, not a friend, not a family member, ever stood up and confronted Alex Murdaugh (or even his out of control son, Paul) about their anti-social behavior and all the tragedy that unfolded because no one seemed to acknowledge outwardly truth.

He wouldn’t have answered those questions the way he did if he was not an atty. A friend would question why their friend took money. I would want to know if he was being threatened or what was going on? This was too clean! I’m not saying Alex is innocent but no one questioned where the money was? What happened to yearly reports. If my company invested money I would want to know where it was and the balance. You don’t trust anyone with that large amount of money.

As for his description of Paul, aside from the part where he describes Paul “hunting” wild hogs with hog dogs then killing them with a KNIFE, it’s very different from from what is already known about Paul, as a child then young adult.
The word CRUEL was used , even as a young child , but the way Paul took pleasure in torturing and slaughtering wild hogs , putting dogs at risk of severe injury or death for the love of the sport, does give us a glimpse of what Paul was like.

This is so sad. Everybody talks about how Paul was spoiled, entitled, and responsible for Mallory's death, but this man remembers him as a longtime friend and a buddy to his own son, and he weeps.
This man’s children were considered equals, or nearly so, by Paul and possibly Maggie. Alec doesn’t consider anyone to be HIS equal. Everyone was there to meet his personal needs.

It was said that Paul was not the favorite with his father nor his mother. It's sad he didn't have the chance to become a better person. If his father killed him, which I believe he did, he knew it. That is a terrible way to die.
I am sure both sides of Paul were there. When someone has a drinking problem, they can change in behavior. as with all teens and kids in their early twenties, they show a different face to their friends than adults - I know I did.
Let's be real, he wasn't the only one drinking that night. They all had been. Accidents happen. Not like he did it on purpose. People see a family with money and automatically think they're entitled snobs without knowing them at all.
This is heartbreaking. I feel so sad for all the people who were deceived by the defendant. This witness obviously cared very deeply for the defendant and his family. 😞💔

Our entire existence and social structure is inherently built upon harming one another for our own gain.

The guys from better financial backgrounds usually had more of these insane and drastic charges and stories.

As crazy as this case is, it's nothing new.
One of the guys that stands out to me best is the regional flight traffic controller of the FAA for the entire Midwest region.
He snapped one night and took a 30-30 and blew his wife's legs clean off.
Ironically enough, again, they were arguing over money... Everyone wants more more more.
He'd have gotten less time if she'd actually died too.

Well said, sir. We have ALL done things we are not proud of or could be in jail for, just not all are caught. We do not end up in the same place, most do end up 6ft deep but some will go with Jesus and the rest go to the lake of fire. It is our given free will to repent for our sins, as a sin is a sin and looked at as the same level even though murder is the most horrible, I believe, but so is lying and cheating. We can all choose to turn our lives around, come to repent and go to Jesus, and be better people that we need to be. We all need to realize, we are human, we make mistakes, be nice and lend out a hand to lift other off of their feet when they fall, it is not "if" it's "when" we fall that we need the most help. On a technical note: Every time I watch a witness taking the stand in this case, it bothers me that almost all of them have to bend forward to speak into the microphone. My question is: can't the microphone be adjusted so that they can just focus on the content of their answers rather than also think about being audible over the microphone?

It can't be adjusted much at all. This is the worst witness stand I've ever seen. The chair looks terribly uncomfortable, and the witnesses look uncomfortable. Meanwhile, the judge's chair is about a $500 chair. (I like the judge btw)

I didn't hear urgency and Paul continuously sounded as if he was aggravated with the dispatcher on the phone. I remember thinking she wasn't dead yet, and they needed that to happen before the EMT's arrived. Isn't it ironic the maid tried over a dog and died, them the wife and son dies in the dog kennels area. Faking his attempted murder/suicide Alex was shot (grazed) in the head, Paul brains were blown out, and the wife faired no better. Alex murder methods didn't seem to switch up much.

You are not alone. I was trying to pack for a trip as I have the week off, but I was drawn to the sweet and gentle nature of this man. He reminded me so much of my dear brother who has Alzheimer's disease. The witness was obviously devastated and wore his heart on his shirt sleeve. I guess we really don't know those we love as well as we think we do. Such a breach of trust and such a loss will always tear at his heart and memories. Poor guy. This is such a complex case, and there are so many excellent witnesses. Who knows where it will all end. A. Murdoch's face has such a flat affect. I wonder what he is thinking. His best friend was torn with grief and he is a blank page. Grief? Denial? Suppression of emotions?

AM immediately called his law firm partners to run over to the crime scene knowing it would create chaos, confusion and contamination. It was a pre-meditated attempt on AM’s part to destroy evidence. An innocent person, especially a person who has worked in any type of legal investigation, would know to preserve the integrity of the crime scene in order to find the killers. Tire tracks are particularly important in this case, and Alex knew that. What better way to eliminate that evidence than to invite people in to drive over it?

My husband and his brothers inherited a church from their late father. It took about 2 years before the other brothers realized that one had swindled 60 thousand dollars from the church account. This particular brother is charming, generous, larger than life personality! Their late father always sheltered the one brother from his financial failures, he even had accounts he used after their fathers death( in the dead father's name) It's not hard to see how Alec's partners could be blinded for a while, but eventually they knew what he was! The most important thing Crosby said in his testimony was that he definitely identified Alex Murdaugh speaking in the video that Paul had posted…proving Alex is lying.

Broke my heart listening to this man. I can't even elaborate except to say it brought me to tears. What an absolute rare treasure to have a friend like this man. You couldn't ask for a better blessing . Paul died a wealthy man. And no I'm not talking about money.

This man is one of the kindest gentlemen that I know personally. He has a heart of gold. Breaks my heart to see him like this. He is shattered. He is not your typical lawyer stereotype. He is who he is on the stand.
so heartbreaking you can tell he cared deeply for Paul! he was more then a kid who caused a wreck even though that was aweful! He was also a human being who was good with kids.

This poor man is more devastated over the loss of Paul than Paul's own father is. Alex thinks rocking back and forth shows grief? No, it displays attention-seeking, dramatic tendencies.

Poor guy probably has PTSD from this. I hope he gets continued mental health support to wade through the shock from the murders, the grief of family friends, the visual of the bodies and biological material, and the severe manipulation, theft, and betrayal from someone he loved.
