I don't remember seeing this in the books, but one of the skills possessed by the greatest fighters in the wizarding world is a limited form of Legilimency. While Queenie is a full Legilimens, wizards like Grindelwald and Dumbledore have the ability to sense spells slightly before they are cast...hearing them in the minds of their opponents, and giving them the ability to react and parry just in time. I believe this is how Grindelwald was able to deflect Leta's attack...even though he was facing away from her.
If Grindelwald were aware of this gift, it would explain why he wanted Queenie in his movement so badly.
Plus J.K Rowling stated, “Though Queenie can read minds, she doesn’t always draw the right conclusions from what she’s reading.” The fact she could read Grindlewald’s mind might’ve misread what he was thinking and that’s why she joined him and was able to walk through blue fire without being burned.
He is going to used her actually which clearly shown in the Part 3.
Daaaamn. Foreal? That’s so sick. Grindewald is a real villain.
I like to think it might be because of the wand. Considering how he reacted after parrying the spell, it seemed like an autonomous reaction of the wand.
The fire circle and the whole ending battle sequence is phenomenal, the score absolutely TAKES OFF, these three movies get so much undeserved hate.
The next film should be released digitally at the end of the month. I can’t wait to see your reaction and I’m glad you are excited by this franchise. I know a lot of people aren’t fans of the FB movies but I love them

I love this films darker tone compared to the first and it had balls to give us twists we didn't see coming, the Zowu is also a adorable creature!

Hello Addie, sorry I missed the live stream. I did watch this on my big screen tv. This was an amazing movie. It really reminded me of Harry Potter and how I could not wait until the next one came out. It was sad for both Leta and Queenie. We know that Newt and Thesus became closer at the end mourning Leta's death. The magic spells used in these movies by Newt and the others made me wonder just how more powerful Harry, Ron, and especially Hermione became as they got older. Thank you for your reactions and commentary. It is an awesome pleasure to watch these with you. Until next time stay well and safe. 😀
This movie kind of got a mixed reception generally, as have the Fantastic Beasts movies in general as compared to the HP series, but I absolutely loved it. And I am actually heartbroken that Johnny Depp was cut from it, as big a fan of Madds Mickelsen as I am. He did a fantastic job with what he had, but I will honestly watch Johnny in anything really, and he really does a remarkable job with character roles like this.
I hope, somehow by some miracle, he makes it back to the the HP world again. I know he said he'd never work with Disney again for Pirates, but I think they'd be fools to make any of those movies without him.

I remember seeing this film in theaters with my family. My sister is the big Harry Potter fan and she and my brother-in-law still believe Credence is a Lestrange, rather than a Dumbledore. At least he wasn't a Potter or a Weasley or a Malfoy or a etc..
I personally would’ve preferred if Credence was just a Muggleborn (orphaned or otherwise).
Yeah it was Mcgonagall… one of the many things that don’t make sens in those movies made by Rowling 👀

There are some things that Grindlewald is not as evil as Voldemort. A few examples are:
1. Grindlewald didn’t directly kill a baby, in fact he couldn’t even watch while it happened. This is showing a true difference between him and Voldemort as Voldemort didn’t give killing a baby a second thought but it went over so many people’s heads and couldn’t really see it.
2. He saves a man who helped him escape custody, something that Voldemort would’ve never done.
3. Grindlewald isn’t a racist. He doesn’t seek to purge the world from Muggles, Muggle-Borns and Blood Traitors like Voldemort.
4. Grindlewald can feel and understand love, compassion and remorse. Something Voldemort doesn’t do because he’s heartless the moment he was conceived from love potion from his influenced Muggle father.

" Grindlewald is a wizard supremacist that want to rule all muggles "For the greater good ". I don't know about you but if someone tells me one group of people are superior to all others and another tells me everyone most die who are not "like him" i consider both equally bad. But i shoot the former first because the other guy will make a lot of enemies real fast
@@Sam_Guevenne 1. Grindlewald’s not a coward. He really wanted to spare a baby but he can’t because then the Aurors would read the baby’s mind and track them down, regardless if his memory is modified. So he had no choice and when closed the door, he’s sad that baby had to die but knew he had to move on for his plans.
2. Voldemort didn’t just restore his hand, he also cursed it that should Wormtail betray him, his own metal hand will kill him. Which he still doubts that Peter would stay loyal to him when clearly he serves him out of fear, not loyalty. Grindlewald on the other hand has no doubts on a man who helped him escape from prison. He saved him from aurors and restored his tongue with no curses or jinxes. And that man proved his loyalty further when he walked the Dark Fire Protection spell unharmed.
3. Grindlewald just wants himself and all followed him free from all magical governments, seize control, and have his kind do whatever they please without any restrictions, including mating Muggles and Muggle-borns. There’s a line Grindlewald doesn’t cross, a line that Voldemort completely ignores.

Aurelius's identity is more simple that it seems, if you have read the Deathly Hallows, you'll know what I'm talking about, the one option nobody never thinks about because... well, you'll see. Bakc when the movie came out we were all "WTF???" We had to go through a whole pandemic and Johnny Depp's shenanigans with the movie industry to get the answer. Madds Mickelsen does a great hob at Grindelwald though, the style is slightly different but the character's behaviour is still sufficiently the same for that not being awkward. Madds is also a fantastic actor (watch Star Wars Rogue One to see him in a role and the whole saga while you are at it, if you loved Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter...)
Queenie is very vulnerable right now, she wishes things would be different and she's mad for Jacob.
Leta sacrificed for the two men she loved although she was a weird child.
I loved to see Nicolas Flamel saving everyone asses at the end, he used to be one of the best wizards of all time with Merlin, Grindelwald and Dumbledore.
Also, take a look at Kevin Costner in Robin Hood Prince of thieves, and in Silverado.

You might have already seen these movies, but princess bride and Disney’s the three musketeers are too you should definitely do a reaction to. I’m talking about the one with Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, Charlie Sheen, and Chris O’Donnell.

Yes, Johnny Depp was awesome in the role of Grindelwald just for his sake and I watched these Beasts, I hope that in parts 4 and 5 they will bring back Johnny Depp if of course they are removed after the huge failure of part 3😊😅
Consensus is that this movie has a weaker script, because Rowling tried to put in a lot of plot points and references from the Harry Potter books that were completely excised from the movies. The story arc about Queenie putting Jacob in a love spell is a huge nod to Merope Gaunt.
In the books, Tom Riddle's (aka Voldemort) poverty-stricken mother Merope was infatuated with the rich Tom Riddle Sr. and gave him love potions. When Merope was pregnant and stopped giving the love potions, Riddle Sr. realized the deception and left Merope. This created a domino effect when Merope's father attacked the Riddles and got sent to Azkaban, Merope was alone when she gave birth, and Tom Riddle Jr. ended up in that orphanage until Dumbledore took him into Hogwarts.

Have to say I really love your reactions. Saw your reaction to Lord of the Rings (loved it by the way 👌🏾). It’s a bit out of the blue but I would recommend The Count of Monte Cristo (2002). A great movie I have to say.
This take place long before James & Harry Potter was born, this take place around Harry's Great Grand Parents period.

I know I'm in the minority but of the three fantastic Beasts films I enjoyed this one the most. Even more than some Harry Potter films.

I am troubled with this part of the series. It doesn't fell well, but it's well made. Some parts are really good and others sucks. Need some time to overthink it.
Not to mention the elephant in the room of the studio wrongly removing Johnny at the drop of a hat.

I’ll never EVER watch the 3rd FB as they decided to recast THE best actor over something he’s proven innocent for yet they kept Ezra Miller even after he was caught in 4K kidnapping and beating a guy up and throwing him in a trunk. Where’s the consistency?
There are a lot of reasons this is a bad movie, but what I couldn't stand most was Queenie. How is it possible that a woman who can read minds can't tell when she's met magical Hitler? Grindelwald and his minions literally want to murder her boyfriend
I thought this was one of the better bits of the movie, actually. They mention how one of the things that makes Grindelwald so dangerous is how effortlessly he is able to persuade others to join him. And what better way to show off this ability than by tricking someone who can literally read minds into joining him? Maybe the execution could have been better. I agree this movie has a lot of flaws, but this was one I thing I thought was smart.

You obviously haven't read the books but that's not even a good excuse because it was shown in the movies, a very obvious way for a wizard to trick a legilimens. Have you never heard of Occlumency?
I don't know why, but they made big mistakes in this movie :
1. Dumbledore wasn't DADA teacher before becoming headmaster, he was teaching transmutation
2. McGonagall wasn't alive in 1927, the year this movie is set in, I believe she was born in 1930s, yet they already casted her as a teacher, so she's at least 20-something years older than she should be (it was clear fan service, but really poorly done)
Grindelwald is the most powerful tbh. The only reason Voldemort would ever beat him is due to the horcruxes.

Yep, they need to start rotating in some new directors. That's how they got Prisoner of Azkaban with Alfonso Cuaron, the best of the series visually. Though I did think Yates did well with Half Blood Prince. It is by far the most underrated of the series. It has a very unique visual palate, though that was because he used an amazing DP. The series could definitely use some new creatives behind it.
@@Jon.A.Scholt David Yates should step back to be as producer and let someone else with real passion for the Wizarding World and good experience dealing with fantasy and drama alike. And that director would know to turn things around and make an epic conclusion.
This was such a letdown from the first, and supposedly the 3rd was even worse. Such a shame, as an HP fan.
I actually heard the 3rd was far better than this one.

This movie is terrible in my opinion. So many questionable decisions. Jk is trying to tie in the original series too much.
