Honestly, I loved both movies. Grindelwald is one of the most interesting characters in the HP books/universe. He was more powerful than Voldemort because Grindelwald studied and mastered all types of magic, whereas Voldemort only cared to master dark magic. In the HP books its explained that Grindelwald and Dumbledore had the most legendary duel in wizarding history in 1945 where he finally defeated Grindelwald after the blood pact was lifted. Dumbledore took the elder wand as his prize. Grindelwald was then imprisoned in his Austrian fortress until finally being killed by Voldemort in the Deathly Hallows while Voldemort was trying to track down the elder wand, but not before Grindelwald called Tom Riddle weak and stupid and laughed at him before his death by the killing curse in his cell. Also, Grindelwald was a student of Durmstrang before being expelled for experimenting with dark magic. One thing they missed with these movies was a view into the American School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and its unique houses.

I'm one of the weirdos who doesn't dislike this movie. I don't love it... but I definitely don't hate it either. There are many issues with it, Rowling has been playing fast and loose with the rules of magic. The plot is paper thin, the characters are not very well built... the stories barely get wrapped up at the end of each movie... there's so many questions and so little answers. There's timeline inconsistencies, for example: McGonagall wasn't even born yet by the time she was teaching at Hogwarts in this movie. We're hoping for an answer on that one. Main theory is time turners, but that'd change the way time turners work within the universe. The action scenes are great, they actually are. All the beasts are amazing as well... but Newt and his beasts are turning into background characters in their own movie franchise. It has now become a Dumbledore backstory instead. Which is fine, I'm here for it... but then don't call it something else. I can see why you don't seem to have much of an interest in Credence/Aurelius' backstory, he's mostly just there, doesn't really do much that is interesting... but somehow his story is one of the most intriguing to me. I've seen the third movie as well now. While Johnny Depp did an amazing job with Grindelwald, and he definitely shows how charismatic Grindelwald is supposed to be... I will say that Mads Mikkelson did amazingly well too. The reasons for Johnny getting booted from the series are absolute dog shit, and I don't support it... but Mads is a great replacement. Not gonna say anything about it, but in case you were worried about the Grindelwald character... he'll be perfectly fine. Honestly I can't wait for you to see the third movie. I think there'll be some stuff in there that you'll enjoy. It's almost as much of a mess as the second movie, but... at least it's not worse, I don't think. By now I'm honestly hoping that I'll go 'ohhh that was the plan with this series!' at the end of the five movies. I'm holding out hope that Rowling still knows what she's doing. Anyway, loved your reaction to this movie. It's been a blast.
Honestly, i wish they just made this into a tv miniseries then make the final fight a movie. They could manage the story and character arcs better i guess.
17:49 Those weren't Muggles in that streeet where Newt tracked the traces. It was like the French version of Diagon Alley. There were cauldron shops etc. Look closely. Also, you didn't see it because you were laughing at the french cop, but Newt and Jacob passed through the statue into that magical street.
I always love your enthusiasm for this franchise. It’s so nice to see someone who isn’t too entrenched in the division and controversy of the series and can just enjoy things for what they are. And watching your reaction gave me a newfound appreciation for some of this movie. I am so happy you like Newt. I said this in the comments on your last Fantastic Beasts video, but he’s such a great hero, and his romance with Tina is so sweet. It’s a shame, because from what I’ve heard, she only has a brief cameo in the next film. But hopefully she’ll be back for the 4th one. I think the major issues people have with this movie is some of the general inconsistencies and character choices. As interesting as it was to see Nagini, she feels completely tacked on for no reason other than, like you said, for the movie to go “hey, you remember this, right?” She doesn’t affect the plot in any meaningful way, to the point that I’m pretty sure she’s not in the next film at all. There’s also the issue of how much Queenie changes. She went from a sweet and bubbly, to a manipulative, insecure, and controlling person. It’s jarring and could’ve been handled better. There’s also the subplot with the Unbreakable Vow dude (who’s name I couldn’t remember with a gun to my head) and Leta, which drags on in the crypt for way too long. All that said, I did find a lot more to enjoy after seeing your input. The spectacle is definitely cranked up here, and I still love the score and the various themes you pointed out. Also, one thing I think you might’ve missed was why Muggles weren’t discovering the wizards. I’m pretty sure when Newt and Jacob end up in France, they enter a sort of pocket dimension where all the wizards live. Hence why all the crazy magic spectacle like the black curtains and the giant flaming dragons at the end aren’t seen as more than terrifying omens to the populace.
Grindelwald`s the manipulative one for hiding the full extent of his anti- Muggle bigotry until the last scene of "Secrets of Dumbledore",Queenie was naïve and desperate to marry Jacob and Grindelwald knew exactly which words to use to deceive her into joining up with him like he did with Credence/Aurelius and Albus before. It was obvious throughout "Secrets of Dumbledore" that aside from their first two encounters Queenie and Credence/Aurelius served Grindelwald more out of fear and a sense of betrayal at Newt,Jacob,Aberforth and Albus respectively than true loyalty like his zealots in the American,Parisian and German ministries of magic.
Yep. It was way better than "Crimes of Grindelwald." Call me biased being a French-American of Basque,Alsatian,Romani,Berber,Druze,Egyptian,Iranian and Jewish descent but I can`t forgive Depp`s horrifically cringe French pronunciations in this film, his piss-poor attempt at a Slavic/Nordic accent that never remotely sounds like either or the last line!
Gridelwald doesn't have a Hogwarts House because he did not go there. He was expelled from Durmstrang (the school from the Goblet of Fire). That school already has dark arts as part of their curriculum and Grindelwald still got expelled for experimenting with Dark Arts.
Grindlewald wasn't a Hogwarts student, Mell. He attended the school Viktor Krum went to Durmstrang Institute. He was expelled for his dark experiments in dark arts, and that's bad because that school focuses a lot on magical martial training far more than Hogwarts does.
I don’t know if someone already mentioned it, but Johnny Depp took an orchestra conductor (I’m not sure how to called it😅) training, so his wand movement would resemblance of him directing. While the other took esgrima training. Love your reactions!
The thing about Grindelwald is he is extremely charismatic and people flock to him. Johnny Depp embodies that. I feel like Mads did a good job, but Johnny brought Grindelwald to life!
It’s been speculated that Grindelwald was just manipulating Albus Dumbledore. It’s also speculated that Albus loved him but the feelings between the two weren’t mutual. What really upset the fans with this movie is the fact that a Fourth Dumbledore child could exists. It doesn’t follow the lore of Albus and his family. Also the fact that it isn’t about Newt but about Albus Dumbledore kind of annoys some.
@@robbiereacts22 Not really, they still have the timeline screwed up, Timeline wise it's not possible for the alternative explanation either due to the ages.
@@robbiereacts22but im interested as to why you disagree? Their alternative explanation doesn't work because the alleged father would have been 13-14 at the time they say the baby was conceived and in Leta's flashback of the switchover the mother of "Aurelius" definitely did not look the same age as the alleged father....sooooo....unless grown ass woman had a child with a 13-14 year old then their alternative explanation doesn't work in the timeline. Also the event would have happened 30 years ago....so unless Credence is 22 in this film the timeline doesnt work, and he cant have been 22 otherwise he wouldn't have still been in the orphanage in the first film as he would have been an adult in America. this one is actually the best of the trilogy in my opinion. the score was amazing and had some memorable motifs, the performances were great especially depp's, and that opening sequence had me on the edge of my seat in 2018 when i saw it in theaters. there are some bad parts and some errors like mcgonagall being there and the confusing rollercoaster of a scene where leta reveals she "killed" her brother. but it's significantly more entertaining than the first (if you're someone like me who likes more character-driven stories)
I recommend reading the books to get some context for these films. Particularly Deathly Hollows, which really delves into the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. The two of them met as young boys and became quick friends (which I believe was retconned into them being lovers). They both shared a dream of wizards rising up above the muggles, but Dumbledore eventually left that path, and they had a major falling out (over the death of Albus’ sister). And yeah, Grindelwald is VERY powerful. Before Voldemort he was revered as the most dangerous dark wizard ever, and it’s still a bit of a debate among the fan base as to who was genuinely more powerful between the two. And yeah, he ahas the Elder Wand by this point. He was briefly talked about in Pt. 1 of the Deathly Hollows movie, but it wasn’t nearly as in depth as it should’ve been in my opinion. The most infamous part of Grindelwald and Dumbledore’s story is definitely their climactic duel, which these films are 100% building up to for the big finale.
@@marti9734 except they never really covered the lovers angle whatsoever or even implied it in the books, and certainly not in the films until Fantastic Beasts came out.
The most credible theory (IMO) about Credence being a Dumbledore is .. Well, based on the books, Dumbledore's sister was almost certainly an obscurus herself. I think that's how Credence is related, not by blood. Grindelwald definitely goaded that girl, he wanted to make the aurors look bad. The movies are to lead up to the big Dumbledore vs Grindelwald fight, which is when Dumbledore obtained the elder wand. Interestingly the battle took place the same year WWII ended, and Grindelwald is very similar to Hitler (obsession with race purity, being an eloquent speaker.) I always enjoy your reactions, your laugh makes me laugh. Glad you enjoyed getting into the wizarding world so much!
I hated how they killed off Leta she was such an interesting character with so much potential. She would've made an awesome villain or been one of the heroes or a spy for the ministry just something
@@robbiereacts22 Couldn't there been another way to do that without killing her off? She had so much potential, they made half of the story about her only to kill her off on not do anything with her.
Thanks for getting this out so fast! I hope you’ll see the third in the theater for your own enjoyment! A lot of people didn’t like it, but I always thought it was okay…or maybe it’s just that it was pretty much what I expected it to be.
Yes. Dumbledore and Grindewald were romantically involved. All the big magic that you saw was in the magical side of Paris. Think of it like French Godric's Hollow. Grindelwald did not attend Hogwarts. He attended Durmstrang, like Victor Krum. He was expelled because his dark magic was too dark for even Durmstrang. And yes Grindelwald is way more powerful than Voldemort. Voldemort only focused on getting power and his followers followed him out of fear. Grindelwald has charisma and can sell snow to Inuit.
Dumbledore was in fact gay, and the complications that arose with them when they had an affair. I always assumed Grindlewald exploited Dumbledore's genuine feelings for him, which is why he was always willing to see all sides.
Dumbledore straight up admits that he was his lover and in love with Grindlewald in the 3rd film. One of the best movies ever! Even better then some of the Potter films
As I understand it, a couple of things folks were disliking McGonagle being in the movie as she wasn't supposed to be born and yet showed up as a teacher. The other thing is the thing that should be answered in the next movie which is Dumbledore and Aberforth having another, never mentioned, brother/son/uncle/nephew and they got their panties in a twist over it.
@@christucker7655 I don't recall that but perhaps they retconned her based on the character as she is in the films...clearly a much older woman well within the age range to have been a young teacher at the time of this story. It wasn't an issue anyone has brought up til now and I have certainly heard enough whining from "fans" about how this is wrong and that is wrong and the character isn't blah blah blah enough by this point. Frankly it's ridiculous.
Grendalwald went to and was expelled from Durmstrang, sorry I absolutely can't spell that. But he was expelled for his use of the Dark Arts to a degree a school which loved using the dark arts and teaching it was sickened by. Same school Victor Crum went to in Goblet of Fire.
17:00 Newt was not doing magic in front of muggles. They went through that statue of the lady to enter a sort of French version on Diongon Ally. 26:20 "what are the muggles thinking about seeing this?" They can't. Only Wizards & Witches could see Grindelwald's summoning ribbons
The Deathly Hallows book gives the backstory on how Dumbledore and Grindelwald met. Bathilda Bagshot was Grindelwalds great aunt or something and he went to stay with her.The ideas that they had were for wizards to rise to power and take over. They were meant to run away together to enact their plan for basically wizard domination."A student at Durmstrang Institute, Grindelwald was expelled for twisted, dark experiments and near-fatal attacks on students. After leaving Durmstrang, he fostered a romantic relationship with a young Albus Dumbledore, making plans to find the Deathly Hallows and lead a Wizarding revolution to end the International Statute of Secrecy, and create a new wizard-led order that would dominate Muggles. At seventeen, their partnership fell apart after the two were involved in a three-way duel with Dumbledore's brother Aberforth that resulted in the death of Dumbledore's sister Ariana. Grindelwald left Britain and later stole the Elder Wand from Mykew Gregorovitch, proceeding alone with the revolution he and Dumbledore had planned.". He's literally basically lying to people to get them to follow. Like Queenie she just wants to be free to love and Grindelwald is telling her exactly what she wants to hear.
Don’t care what anyone says. These movies are good. Im glad they aren’t a rip off of Harry Potter and something very different. Im excited for the next movie. Also all those people weren’t muggles, that’s where the circus was set up.
The best thing about these movies is the chemistry that the main four have together. If they would have embraced that more after the first one I think the entire franchise would've been more successful
"Where did they come up with the ideas for these designs?" From existing myths and folklore. That for example was a kelpie, from Scottish folklore. Now it's not a lore accurate kelpie but it fits popular modern reinterpretations to a t.
I felt like there were some missing scenes somewhere around the cats because suddenly things stopped making sense for a bit. And Queenie choosing to be with the anti muggle group so she can be with a muggle who breaks up with her over joining the anti muggles...that made no sense lol.
Loved your reaction. Loved this movie, i think it was better than the first one. I can't wait for your reaction for the third one when you will be able to watch it.
Answer why none of the muggles were reacting when they seem magic, is because they weren't actually muggles? When they distracted the guard and walked underneath the statue they entered through a portal like realm where it's still the same place but only which is in wizards can walk freely. Kind of like how in Harry Potter and the sorcerer's Stone when they walk through platform 9 and 3/4 none of the muggles can see but that led to the train to Hogwarts. If that makes any sense I'm sure someone could word it better then I can?
I saw the 3rd movie. It touches on Harry Potter themes & it’s got a little bit of pacing issues but I still enjoyed it. I don’t understand why ppl are hating on the franchise. 🤷♀️
Grindewald went to Durmstrang, not Hogwarts. In the books, Victor Krum gets pissed when he sees the deathly hallows symbol because at his school, it’s seen as the mark of Grindewald.
Yeah the story of this one has issues but as you can see it's not that bad. About beign seen by the muggles: Jacob and Newt passed a portal in the statue so after that they were in "magic" territory. btw not the same Dumbledore... the one in the last HP movie is Abeforth. We didn't know about this Dubledore but in the new one is explained all.
All the easter eggs were cute (hah easter) and I loved seeing the penny drop on them too! And the ending reaction was awesome! I agree with you I liked the cgi
I definitely didn’t hate this movie. I didn’t like it as much as the first one, but I still enjoyed it. My issues with it were that it felt….disjointed. The storylines didn’t quite mesh together as well as I’d have liked them to and I felt like they tried to cram a lot into the film. It definitely benefited from a second watch. But nah, I didn’t hate it at all. I’m really looking forward to watching the third one (though of course I’m so bummed about the legal problems with Johnny Depp - difficult to imagine Grindelwald being played by anyone else)
Grindelwald was in my opinion a much better dark wizard than Tom. Not only was he able to see the future to a degree no one has ever repeated he is a master at manipulation with out using fear like Tom did. Grindelwald was lovers with Doumbledore. He was able to resist Tom Riddle trying to penetrate his mind after being imprisoned for like 80 years, alone, etc. He absolutely did not fear anything accept Doumbledore that means death including which we all know Tom did fear.
I think my favorite fun fact about Newt is he's so badass, he joined WW1 on the Eastern front working with Ukrainian Ironbelly Dragons. I think the government shut down his dragon platoon because the dragons ended up eating anyone that went near besides Newt, who no longer wanted to force animals participate in human war.
Your intro! 😅❤️👍🏼 Haven’t seen the third one but I really think Mads Mikkelsen can bring it and we’ll see a more darker Grindewald. Looking forward to hear your thoughts.
See....Johnny Depp is outstanding....the 3rd one just released doesnt have him. Movie box office numbers are NOT looking good. No Johnny no MONEY$$?? Hahaha. Great review👍👍👍👍👍
Crimes of Grindelwald to me is such a mixed film: The Beasts, the soundtrack, the acting, the casting (especially for Theseus, young Newt & Leta), the CG, the humour are all great. But then the plot suffers as it tries to stuff in loads of new characters without us knowing our caring about them. Several deleted scenes exist that would've helped a lot to explain Credence's plot (ended up with a lot of telling not showing). Queenie's turn to Grindelwald isn't very well explained either.
Yeah, the whole Nagini thing is cool but she's just there, Credence's companion. I also know that there's a deleted scene where they're chilling on a roof which is a cute scene
At 17:48 you said they are doing so many things in front of muggles, But I guess you didn't pay attention, They Both Entered into the Magical World at 17:06, Newt used Confundus charm on the Guard so that they can Enter the Magical World of Paris, as that statue is the Gate to the Magical World of Paris, Same as The Wall between Platform 9 and 10 in Harry Potter series was the Gate For the British Wizarding World
That Protego diaboleca spell produced by Grindelwald overshadows the fiendfyre we see voldmort use in the order of the phoenix against Albus its actually the most powerful fire related spell to ever be produced by any wizard it says alot about how powerful and magically gifted Grindelwald was even more powerful than the firestorm spell Dumbledore is so famous for. Am actually a huge fan of this spell and could be used both ways defensively and offensively.
Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed about their decision to fire Depp and keep Ezra even though they beat the shit out of someone. Credence is a great character but a Dumbledore?! Seriously? Can't wait for you to see the 3rd one! Even though some parts of it doesn't really makes sense to me, I still enjoyed it. Mads did great 👍 I don't wanna spoil or anything but Mads' chemistry with Jude Law is amazing! They pulled the Dumbledore/Grindelwald relationship nicely
The problems i have with this movie are mostly minimal. My bigger complaint is that it's trying to do too much in too short of a time, and introduce too many characters. A little fine tuning on this plot and it could've been pretty good. My minor/specific complaint is that Tina and Queenie never talk to each other, and Tina has nothing to say about her sister joining wizard nazis. And because Tina's actress was too sick to be in the next one this never got resolved. Mads Mikkelsen does an INCREDIBLE job. It's like getting rid of Depp sucked but if there was ANYONE that would be perfect for the role, it's Mads. (Tbh Mads should've done it from the beginning but that's a separate issue)
i believe what happened in this movie is that the story wasn't that great. It felt like everything important happened super fast at the end. I still like the movie since i fell this one is a build up for the future of this saga.
I didn’t like it! These movies are an insult to those of us who’ve actually read the books. This movie is just making a quick buck off of peoples nostalgia.
I haven't seen the third one yet, BUT, I don't think Ezra Miller is really a Dumbledore, in Crimes of Grindelwald there's a small clip of someone putting the 'family tree' book in the crypts, I think it was messed with and it really is Leta's brother. Plus we know Dumbledore just had the one brother and the one sister. And his brothers name was Aberforth.
i’m not 100% sure why people didn’t like this one compared to the first but i think i may have liked it a little bit more! it felt like there were a lot of moments that had me shocked and the visuals were just so amazing, the cgi, sooo well done! i’ve seen a few of the crime of grindelwald reactions and people talking about how crazy it is that his speeches being so profound and his way with words is even similar to dictators in world history that were excellent with their wording. idk if any of that made sense lol but love the reaction per usual!! can’t wait for your next reactions 😅

It was soooo good
Honestly, i wish they just made this into a tv miniseries then make the final fight a movie. They could manage the story and character arcs better i guess.
Wow, dope way to do a sponsor. That was actually a cool way to do it, and you didn’t even have to do all that. Great job, keep killing it👏
“Yeah I can see a resemblense”…
“I am not your mother…”😂😂😂
17:49 Those weren't Muggles in that streeet where Newt tracked the traces. It was like the French version of Diagon Alley. There were cauldron shops etc. Look closely. Also, you didn't see it because you were laughing at the french cop, but Newt and Jacob passed through the statue into that magical street.
Even though people have mixed feedback for this film, the cinematography and music is just so beautiful. 😍
I love everything about the films especially the newest one
People need to stop taking everything so serious. God forbid we enjoy and laugh anymore
It was obvious throughout "Secrets of Dumbledore" that aside from their first two encounters Queenie and Credence/Aurelius served Grindelwald more out of fear and a sense of betrayal at Newt,Jacob,Aberforth and Albus respectively than true loyalty like his zealots in the American,Parisian and German ministries of magic.
i really love how you actually appreciate these movies
I just watched The Secrets of Dumbledore and I got to say, it was very good.
I LOVED it so much!!!!!!!
I definitely liked it more than Crimes of Grindelwald.
Yep. It was way better than "Crimes of Grindelwald." Call me biased being a French-American of Basque,Alsatian,Romani,Berber,Druze,Egyptian,Iranian and Jewish descent but I can`t forgive Depp`s horrifically cringe French pronunciations in this film, his piss-poor attempt at a Slavic/Nordic accent that never remotely sounds like either or the last line!
when he realized who nagini was lmaoooo
Gridelwald doesn't have a Hogwarts House because he did not go there. He was expelled from Durmstrang (the school from the Goblet of Fire). That school already has dark arts as part of their curriculum and Grindelwald still got expelled for experimenting with Dark Arts.
Grindlewald was the old man in the end of deathly hollows pt1 that told Voldemort where dumbledore was buried to get the elder wand
Grindlewald wasn't a Hogwarts student, Mell. He attended the school Viktor Krum went to Durmstrang Institute. He was expelled for his dark experiments in dark arts, and that's bad because that school focuses a lot on magical martial training far more than Hogwarts does.
18:10 damn, I always wondered what was going on with her in this scene and Mello just explains it so nonchalantly.
I love this movie. I get why some people don'y like it but I personally think it's great!
I love how you didn't react negatively to finding out Dumbledore is gay. Mad respect.
That gets cleared up in the 3rd film.
@@robbiereacts22 Not really, they still have the timeline screwed up, Timeline wise it's not possible for the alternative explanation either due to the ages.
@nova I disagree but let’s just agree to disagree
But like i said, im interested as to why you disagree, how would you explain it?
Wizards live longer and have children sometimes late. Credence is his nephew so it’s completely acceptable for the timeline. I don’t want to give away spoilers
Lol great reaction! I loved this one! Way better than the first and Johnny Depp was and is still is FANTASTIC! It’s a damn shame that he’s not in the next one.
His look was too distracting but the new actor looked abs plays the part better
@@robbiereacts22 Grindelwald is supposed to allure you and make you want to be on his side… this guy Mads is just scary looking. He’s distracting in a bad/stay away from me kind of way. Johnny was better pure and simple
Muggles aren't seeing it. They're in the magical district of France, they stepped through to it when they confunded the guard and walked through the statue plinth
in the scene where newt is tracking hes not using magic in front of muggles hes on a wizard street in the scene before it they entered the street thru a statue
After watching The Secrets of Dumbledore twice I don't really picture Depp in Mikkelsen's scenes. I love the new Grindelwald.
if i remember fully grindelwald didnt go to hogwarts or atleast for long, he learnt at durmstrang school where viktor krumb is from in the goblet of fire, he is extremely powerful
You are correct!
this one is actually the best of the trilogy in my opinion. the score was amazing and had some memorable motifs, the performances were great especially depp's, and that opening sequence had me on the edge of my seat in 2018 when i saw it in theaters. there are some bad parts and some errors like mcgonagall being there and the confusing rollercoaster of a scene where leta reveals she "killed" her brother. but it's significantly more entertaining than the first (if you're someone like me who likes more character-driven stories)
They talk about being lovers in the new film
I mean it never got retconned... you can be friends AND lovers soo
Interestingly the battle took place the same year WWII ended, and Grindelwald is very similar to Hitler (obsession with race purity, being an eloquent speaker.)
I always enjoy your reactions, your laugh makes me laugh. Glad you enjoyed getting into the wizarding world so much!
Your right about everything except Credence. I’m not gonna spoil it but he is related
@@robbiereacts22 yeah I just saw it yesterday, was kinda surprised
I hated how they killed off Leta she was such an interesting character with so much potential. She would've made an awesome villain or been one of the heroes or a spy for the ministry just something
She had to die to bring the brothers together
@@robbiereacts22 Couldn't there been another way to do that without killing her off? She had so much potential, they made half of the story about her only to kill her off on not do anything with her.
Sorry but this is a film and the more dramatic the better. You will feel it more and realize how ad the situation is now by murdering her
Thanks for getting this out so fast! I hope you’ll see the third in the theater for your own enjoyment! A lot of people didn’t like it, but I always thought it was okay…or maybe it’s just that it was pretty much what I expected it to be.
The 3rd one was the best so far and better then the first two Potter films. Better then Goblet I’d say also too
Did you ever hear of a TV show called heros? Check it out. Great reaction yet again. 👍
These films (the Harry Potter related ones) bring out two sides of you: heart of a child, and a shooter xD
10:23 They like shiny things. Plus they're hoarders.
😂 yo I love your intros they’re so creative and funny
As I understand it, a couple of things folks were disliking McGonagle being in the movie as she wasn't supposed to be born and yet showed up as a teacher. The other thing is the thing that should be answered in the next movie which is Dumbledore and Aberforth having another, never mentioned, brother/son/uncle/nephew and they got their panties in a twist over it.
Why would people think she hadn't been born yet? ?
@@lpeterson2336 cos she like 40 in the books
@@christucker7655 I don't recall that but perhaps they retconned her based on the character as she is in the films...clearly a much older woman well within the age range to have been a young teacher at the time of this story. It wasn't an issue anyone has brought up til now and I have certainly heard enough whining from "fans" about how this is wrong and that is wrong and the character isn't blah blah blah enough by this point. Frankly it's ridiculous.
She is not 40’s in the books! She is just a bit younger then Dumbledore
@@robbiereacts22 im pretty sure she is actually supposed to be about 50 something but Im not sure. she still has black hair in the books.
In general Grindewald was more powerfull than Voldemort, the only thing that was a problem for Voldemort was the connection between him and Harry
Just in time for Secrets of Dumbledore. I think there are supposed to be two more movies after that one.
Well the 3rd one was the best yet! It blew me away so I’m so excited for more!!!!
I believe Grindelwald went where Krum went. Also that shot where Grindelwald is orchestrating the fiendfyre it always gave me chills.
Please watch the STAR TREK movies! 🖖😊
Never heard of Ezra Miller before him being The Flash
Don’t care what anyone says. These movies are good. Im glad they aren’t a rip off of Harry Potter and something very different. Im excited for the next movie. Also all those people weren’t muggles, that’s where the circus was set up.
Just watched the 3rd one tonight. It was better then some of the Potter films. One of the best films I’ve ever seen
I watch fantastic beasts for the beasts, the adult wizarding world, and Jacob lol
This dude just smiling through his whole skit 😂😂😂
I am very glad someone else out there is not hating on this movie....i like it too,i am just really angry about what they did to J.D.
The best thing about these movies is the chemistry that the main four have together. If they would have embraced that more after the first one I think the entire franchise would've been more successful
"Where did they come up with the ideas for these designs?"
From existing myths and folklore.
Love sometimes doesn’t make sense and people make destructive decisions in the name of love. The 3rd film goes into this and resolves a lot
It makes sense because Grindelwald lied to her. He's a master manipulator
My dislike for this movie can be summed up in one thing
"Obliviate did not work on me because i have no bad memories of you"
Loved your reaction.
They are cloaked and a lot of stuff where wizards are performing out in the open are special hidden places. Muggles cannot enter any of these places
Great reaction Mello! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The reason why most fans of the series is the final scene where Grindiwald claims Credence is the unknown fourth Dumbledore sibling.
Voldemord: Look at my big Snake of Fire
Grindelwald: Look at that my little Dragons, dinners ready to be served
Yeah the story of this one has issues but as you can see it's not that bad. About beign seen by the muggles: Jacob and Newt passed a portal in the statue so after that they were in "magic" territory. btw not the same Dumbledore... the one in the last HP movie is Abeforth. We didn't know about this Dubledore but in the new one is explained all.
All the easter eggs were cute (hah easter) and I loved seeing the penny drop on them too! And the ending reaction was awesome! I agree with you I liked the cgi
I just noticed the wand you have there is Dumbledore’s original Wand before He got the Elder Wand
The new Fantastic Beasts movie was the best so far!!!! It was better then some of the Potter films!
I know this boy does NOT having you crying as he tells this girl her eyes look like salamanders 😂😂😂
Watch the 3rd movie DAMN MELL!!
Your intro! 😅❤️👍🏼
Haven’t seen the third one but I really think Mads Mikkelsen can bring it and we’ll see a more darker Grindewald. Looking forward to hear your thoughts.
See....Johnny Depp is outstanding....the 3rd one just released doesnt have him. Movie box office numbers are NOT looking good. No Johnny no MONEY$$?? Hahaha. Great review👍👍👍👍👍
I'm glad you liked this one, a lot of people didn't understand it.
Bruh I'm so glad you realised who Nagini was, every other reaction I've seen missed it haha
At 17:48 you said they are doing so many things in front of muggles, But I guess you didn't pay attention, They Both Entered into the Magical World at 17:06, Newt used Confundus charm on the Guard so that they can Enter the Magical World of Paris, as that statue is the Gate to the Magical World of Paris, Same as The Wall between Platform 9 and 10 in Harry Potter series was the Gate For the British Wizarding World
I love how much you love these movies and how much you represent slytherin
That Protego diaboleca spell produced by Grindelwald overshadows the fiendfyre we see voldmort use in the order of the phoenix against Albus its actually the most powerful fire related spell to ever be produced by any wizard it says alot about how powerful and magically gifted Grindelwald was even more powerful than the firestorm spell Dumbledore is so famous for.
Am actually a huge fan of this spell and could be used both ways defensively and offensively.
Fun fact the horcrux said you see in this movie we find out is that she's not just a horcrux but she's possibly even voldemort's mother
Mads did great 👍
I don't wanna spoil or anything but Mads' chemistry with Jude Law is amazing! They pulled the Dumbledore/Grindelwald relationship nicely
I feel like Barry Keoghan would be a pretty good credence
still waiting on Secrets of Dumbledore XD pleasse, your reactions are epic. And yes Slytherin!
I thought we were gonna have to wait a week or so for the next one. You’re working your ass off then if you’re popping this out this fast.
I really enjoyed this movie tbh. JD as Grindelwald was phenomenal!
Really good movie, I have loved every one of your reactions that I have seen so far!!! As a recommendation I would offer the Pirates of the Caribbean as a future reaction.
Ugh not Pirates!!! Watch REAL films like The Witch, Mother!, Requiem For a Dream, The Fountain, Midsommar, The Lighthouse, Hereditary, The Void, Sator, Fresh, Dangerous Game (unrated Version), Monster, Southland Tales, Donnie Darko, Evita, Best In Show, Casino, Goodfellas, Body of Evidence(unrated version), Basic Instinct(unrated version), Joy Luck Club, Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, Jawbreaker, Gone With The Wind, 12 Years a Slave, Poltergeist, The exorcist, Showgirls(unrated version), The Hours, Closer
I’m honestly so glad that there are people who love this movie as much as I do! I don’t care what anyone else says, this movie is awesome! The visuals, music, effects and acting were awesome! Theseus Scamander in particular stole the show! He’s the reason I come back to it! Callum Turner is just so handsome!! Plus, I think it was cool seeing other wizarding communities from around the world!
Someone: Wait, you actually think COG is good?!
Me: I do, and I’m tired of pretending that it’s not.
