    Which of deez riddimz was your favorite? Lemme know!

    Black Milk - Overdose
    Azealia Banks - Heavy Metal and Reflective

      The second rhythm was the most interesting to me. But if I start experimenting down the line, I would prefer the first idea more.

  • @crashbang999
    @crashbang999 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So simple but so important. People overlook the fundamentals of a beat structure. Few questions! Was you able to split the FPC onto the channel rack and say the mixer or did you use it for ease of a quick explanation and then actually used channel rack in the beat at the end of each example? And how do you usually start a beat, drums or melody first?

    • @NavieD
      @NavieD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was just for ease of explanation. For me, I start with the melodic component but I know many people that start with drums. There is no wrong way

    • @crashbang999
      @crashbang999 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NavieD thought so for he former. And yeah there is no wrong way. I usually start with melody/chords etc but sometimes I wanna start with drums and make the drums knock and just add a few hits or stabs to fill it but the beat and bass be the main focus to get some hard drum type beat like BDP Duck Down or Jay-Z where I'm from. Thanks for the reply 👍

    So I broke down and bought FL studio even tho I have 2 MPCs now. I don't regret getting them but some things are just faster in FL and there's a lot of limitations in MPC as far as mixing goes. The two work very well together though and for their own specific purposes.
    So I'll be checking out a lot more of your videos now that I'm in FL as my main DAW.
