Each person, Cobb for his people/town, Din as a father concerning his son, Grogu his path. Simple theme with a rich universe to dress up the story. "I'm an old friend of the family." "Get back up. I TOTALLY agree with Hector!!! You can't say to Grogu "I sense much fear in you" and then basically manipulate important people out of their lives, in this case a father figure.
What happened to Grogu when he saw Din's ship flying off?
    One of 2 things:
Bitter because his dad didn't come to see him.
Angry that the Jedi are purposely keeping them apart.
I get it that Jedi are monks and they believe attachment leads to jealousy. "The shadow of greed, that is" as Yoda so eloquently put it.
This shit never goes well for the Jedi! Because to deny your emotions is to deny your humanity...or plug in whatever SW species you are.

Din is going to show them the way with Grogu and the dark saber! A balance of humanity, neither good nor bad. Like in tai chi, you sway and bend, responding as needed, but never breaking.
This is going to solve the issue with Jedi being one dimensional.

    • @scienceandponies
      @scienceandponies 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Especially since the whole point of the prequels is that the old Jedi order was flawed and their dogma against attachment drove them into the ground. Luke's whole thing was rejecting the old ways and holding onto his attachment to his friends. His new academy and Jedi Order in Legends was built on embracing compassion instead of stoic detachment.
There's no way this isn't a false test to see if Grogu makes the same choice he did when Yoda gave him an ultimatum in ESB.

Finally, the full scope of the SWU is being explored in live action. The well is deep, and beyond simple fan service, it opens up so many exciting possibilities and great storylines. It looks like the future of SW is safe for now. It can’t all be TV though, what are the implications for future tent pole franchise movies? It’s fascinating that still, in 2022, the real appetite is to expand characters’ stories that are now dead for the most part from the original trilogy. Literally no one is interested in seeing what happens to Finn, Po, Rey or Kylo Ren, a testament to the failures of the producers’ vision. What’s also interesting is that SW’s ongoing success comes from emulating serialised sci fi like Buck Rogers, which influenced the New Hope.

    • @anthonyyoutubefan7567
      @anthonyyoutubefan7567 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@hectorminator Except, Hector, George Lucas was running Star Wars, when The Prequel Trilogy existed. He's responsible for whatever issues SW Fans (including myself) have with that trilogy's rendering. Therefore, no one was going to ignore it...since it was his story. He owned the company, the technology, studio, the IP. I still have negative feelings about The PT...however, I now consider The PT to be more so The Clone Wars, w/ the 3 movies as its outer shell, because the better stories (and characterization) tend to exist within The Clone Wars series (and now The Bad Batch). HERE'S THE DIFFERENCE: The Sequel Trilogy that We got, between 2015 and 2019, was NOT GEORGE LUCAS' Sequel Trilogy. He's said as much, himself. If the creator of this IP doesn't really consider those 3 movies to be his official telling of The Skywalker Saga, why should I, or anyone else who enjoys Star Wars? (And, I really enjoyed The Force Awakens...but, after TLJ and TROS, I can no longer watch it, since it just leads to nowhere good and satisfying.)
And, okay, Hector...tell me: From what We're receiving from Jon, Dave, and Robert, how does ANY OF IT emanate from the narrative trainwrecks created by Iger, Kennedy, The Lucasfilm Story Group, JJ Abrams, and Rian Johnson? None of these characters have connections to anything from The ST...That's why this new block of storytelling is working for the vast majority of the fanbase. It's basically its own ST by proxy, and probably sanctioned by The Maker, Himself. I'll put it this way: There is WAY MORE classic-yet-original George Lucas-style storytelling going on within The Favloniverse, than there ever was during the making of Episodes VII thru IX. Hell, it's 2022, and there are STILL comics and books being released, attempting to explain the inexplicable, with regards to those 3 films that were welded together.
End result: Box Office and merchandise talks. The Mandalorian Saga is doing better overall business than The ST. Nothing from those 3 films has caused a universal stir like Baby Grogu, Darksabers, white lightsabers, and all things Mandalorian.
It was a great reaction from you 3, BTW...

It's pretty clear you're dumb and didn't see what's awesome about Last Jedi and I don't have the energy (and you don't deserve the energy) to explain it to you.
Juts know your logic is bullshit because if it takes GEORGE LUCAS to enjoy a Star Wars thing for you, then you're not allowed to enjoy Mandalorian or Boba Fett, because although he certainly visited the set, he had nothing to do with those shows creatively. You just like them because you think they ignore the Star Wars you don't like.
And you didn't get the point of my comment at all.

It's funny Hector brought up making another Anakin Skywalker, when he was originally rejected because he was already too attached to his mom. By ignoring their own rules and accepting Anakin, they were ultimately proven right. He was too old and too attached to be trained as a Jedi.
Now, that "attachment" lead to him turning back to the light, but it was also after 3 decades of genocide.

First thing I thought when he said that. People focus on Anakin and forget they had hundreds if not thousands of Jedi(for hundreds of years) that the ways of the Jedi worked for. Saying well this outlier or two went bad means the whole system is wrong is silly. He and others think this because they are attached to the characters like Anakin, only showing how attachment can and does cloud one's thinking.

Not learning how to have healthy attachments directly lead to the down fall of the Jedi as they were seen as strange or aloof by the common people and why the purge wasn’t seen so bad by most . If Anakin was taught how to have healthy attachments and relationships he would of never of fallen to the dark side

@@jewsco ?? Again hundreds/thousands more over centuries DID NOT fall to the dark side.
Those that fell couldn't live up to the Jedi code of no attachment, because THEY were weak not because of the rule.
No what lead to the fall of the Jedi was them going AGAINST their own rules and training a boy they said was TOO OLD because he would not be able to let go of their attachments. And they were right.
People "accepting" the Jedi purge because they were seen as "strange and aloof" doesn't have anything to do with their code and only speaks to those people ignorance.
No if the Jedi had followed their OWN RULES and not trained him he would not have fallen to the dark side.
Even with what you deem as "healthy attachments" the idea that Anakin with his weak will would not have gone dark after his mother was killed is NONSENSE and only shows that people that think this are letting their attachment to these characters blind them.
Anakin going to the dark side is because Anakin couldn't and never would accept "no attachments" the very reason the Jedi council DID NOT WANT TO TRAIN HIM originally. It is solely on Anakin he fell.

Yo, salute to you Hector!!! I've watched a bunch of different reactions for this episode and you are the ONLY one who caught to reference to Lone Wolf & Cub at the end when Luke is making Grogu choose between the light saber and the Beskar armor.
Also there is a short fan made web comic by an artist named "Princepsed" about when Ahsoka and Luke meet for the first time and they talk about Anakin Skywalker. I wouldn't be surprised if Filoni drew inspiration from this as a number of people tagged in the initial post. You can look it up online, just have your tissues at the ready.

Something set when Rey is in her 40s with a Palawan or two, and Grogu is there and old enough to be talking and doing more force things could be really interesting. Maybe Finn could be in it as well as a Jedi. Finn teaching Grogu, that would be a great duo. That could help redeem some of the junk in the Sequel Trilogy.

As I watch you guys I realize just how good Jon Favreau and friends are building a market and a platform for a character and the potential of universe expansion through Dr. Aphra. I want more. I want discuss of the science and mysticism of the kyber crystals and the lightsabers. I want to know more about the Tuskens, how they survived without technological advances, and then Jawas-- why did they embrace technology by valuing trash, what do they know, what have they built (are the Jawas a hidden, very advanced but underestimated society like Marvel's Wakadans). In all this time why haven't we identified and at least named Yoda's and Grogu's species. Why do the Jedis treat the dark side of the force as bad if they care so much about balance and reject concepts like attachments to others and love.? So many species to explore. So many ships to study and utilize.

I like that these post-ROTJ shows aren't doing a stright "strike the sequels from canon" like a lot of vocal Star Wars critics wanted, but they're taking stuff and bridging gaps to make the changes that were made seem more cohesive. Luke giving Grogu an ultimatum saying that he'd be forsaking the Jedi way makes his rant in TLJ about how the Jedi system is flawed that much more powerful. It shows some real character growth which wouldn't have happened if these shows didn't exist. These are about far more than filling in bullet points of context about where Boba was or how he survived, but it's about bridging these characters in a really cool way.

  • @DoremiFasolatido1979

You need to watch the scene between Vanth and Bane more carefully. Note, when the two of them finally draw, Vanth's attention was on his deputy, while Bane never once so much as glanced away from Vanth.
    .
Deputy Dipshit is the one who got Vanth shot. Bane knew the deputy was a minor threat at best, and so never took his focus off of Vanth, who was a genuine threat. The deputy added an extra factor that divided Vanth's attention, but not Bane's. Vanth wanted to keep his deputy alive because he knew the guy was no match for Bane, and therefore had to split his focus between him and Bane. Conversely, Bane just needed to make sure he got Vanth first, and then take out the deputy as a secondary.
    .
What we see play out, is that Bane draws the instant Vanth's eyes go off him, because Vanth is trying desperately to get his deputy out of the equation. That's when Bane makes his move. It's also why Bane mentioned the armor, hoping to psych Vanth into hesitating out of fear for himself. Bane KNEW that Vanth would be an extreme problem in a straight draw...possibly more than he could handle. But Bane is experienced, and Vanth was at a disadvantage as the defender. Its why they showed us him taking out 3 Pykes in half a second at the start of the episode. It was to show us that he's got the skills.
    .
Vanth had the speed, but unfortunately he got played because of that goddamned deputy (who ended up dead anyway).
