I don’t think that was the same lightsaber Yoda used in Revenge of the Sith a Darth Vader comic series set immediately after the events of that movie establishes the lightsabers if Jedi who died during Order 66 were thrown in a furnace and Yoda’s lightsaber is distinctly amongst them.
@@willmorton2123 He's basically saying that they have to continue this story in a way that would align with episodes 7/8/9. Aka Grogu might die when Ben Solo torches the Jedi Temple.
Cad Bane was so terrifying in this. After Bad Batch, he's kind of solidified as a 'rule-breaker' when it comes to star wars. You wouldn't expect anyone to force Anakin to open a holocron, or to shoot Hunter to near-death out of no where, but he always gets away with it. The second he appeared, I knew Cobb was fucked.
What’s funny is I’m pretty sure Cob could’ve taken out Cad, or at least make it a mutual kill where they both drop, but he was visibly distracted by his deputy. For all that Bane is badass he isn’t Force-Sensitive and he’s really old whereas Vanth is younger. He could’ve outdrawn him, IMO. Still loved it, and I’m just glad Cob survived😂
@@joshuafoy9355 I think that's why Bane showed him "honor" by only shooting once in the shoulder, likely on purpose. The Deputy interupted their talk and it visibly made Cad annoyed, hence the excessive blasting as well.
@@StopReadingMyNameOrElse yeah I’m guessing since Cad was sent by the Pykes to negotiate for Freetown to stay out of the war, they likely told Cad to keep things clean essentially cos Freetown losing their sheriff would make them go to war anyways, more likely than not. Cob dying is a declaration of war, but injuring him is a warning to stay outta the Pyke’s business. He even tells Freetown to let the spice run through Tatooine and that they’ll be safe if they do so. Course, the deputy pissed him off and that cost him his life. Considering this is the guy who fought Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano and many others and coming out on top, not just surviving, means he is not someone to be taken lightly. God forbid Ahsoka learns Cad Bane is still kicking around as a Bounty Hunter after all these years. I can honestly see her settling things personally and as she is right now, probably the strongest and most experienced Jedi around with Ezra and Luke coming in second, he wouldn’t stand a chance.

It’s as if boba himself knows he’s washed. Still can’t stop thinking about the 4th episode where he grabs the rat catcher droid by the neck going “do you know who I am? I’m BOBA FETT!”
@@mikeschmidt4624 Right? The whole show feels like it should be about Boba drifting away from his former ruthless persona. Use Cad Bane (introduced earlier, like episode 2 or 3) as an antagonist to contrast Boba "becoming soft" aka having empathy and respect. Then I stead of just pausing the show for a Mandalorian preview, introduce Bossk to fill Mandos role. Bossk has had a major part in Bobas life and further helps the whole theme of Boba becoming something greater than a gun for hire. A lot of this show just feels wasted and it's a shame.
I feel like Dave Filoni directed this episode with the sole intention of finding out how many times and how intensely Star Wars fans can squeal and cry in an hour.
Can you imagine a Mandalorian episode where Mando doesn't appear at all, followed by another one where he shows up for 10 seconds with barely one line??? And both episodes were absolute BANGERS, the best by far?!? Let's face it, the fact that Boba got severely outshined (even sidelined!) in his own show proves that he didn't deserve one in the first place... This show should've been titled "The Book of Tatooine & Beyond"😎
@@sgtpepper2345 the writers of the the show said that it is basically The Mandalorian season 2.5 so that’s how I’m viewing it and I think it makes sense seeing all these different characters
Cad Bane: “Boba Fett is a cold blooded killer who worked for the empire.” Cobb Vanth: “So what does that make you? The messiah?” Cad Bane: “No.. I’m the reaper.”
I think he was saying that due to the reputation that Boba is trying to build up as ruling via respect instead of fear, and he was emphasizing that Boba worked for the Empire. Could also be he's saying you can work for a killer or stay out of it. But yeah I can see what you mean.
I must have asked myself 20 times this episode “how did they do this?” Luke and Cad Bane looked incredible, I always love seeing Ahsoka and grogu too. I was smiling for all of it
They hired a TH-camr who made a video fixing cgi Luke from the season 2 finale which is why the deepfake looks seamless, not uncanny valley but actually perfect as though mark hamill was doing it. I think he also helped with cgi Grogu. Cad bane was also well adapted, liked that they kept the voice, sold it for me. Rosario does a good job as Ahsoka but I have a hard time with it just because she doesn't have Eckstein's voice. Great episode all around.
@@johnmcauliffe8824 i wish they had more a filter effect with Bane's voice so it sounder more like his respirator voice but other then that I loved his appearance. CGI Luke was just so awesome that you know that Disney was happy for investing into hiring the guy
“Embo?! No…” “Is it…Cad Bane?” “It could be…” “It might be.” “Please be Corey Burton…” I love all the stages to the reveal of curiosity, questioning, hyping, and excitement. When Eric gets out of his chair, you know it’s hyped
The SECOND this episode ended I thought “ I can’t wait for Blind Wave to wake up , watch, and react to this episode.” Must’ve checked their TH-cam page every hour.
I've been impatient waiting all day between this reaction and my Dying Light 2 preload lmao, now that this is here I feel utterly spent and I can sleep straight until the game is unlocked.
I actually cried when Din left without saying hello to Grogu and what made it worse was when the poor little guy reached out for him! :'( And this line hurt: "I came all this way... he's right there."
Shocking, heartwarming, heartbreaking, terrifying. As a Star Wars fan the range and depth of emotions I felt in this episode... overwhelming. Filoni is an ABSOLUTE MADMAN.
Came just to see Eric's reaction and was not disappointed. This man was flushed through the whole show... standing up... barely holding it together. Love it.
I love that they have Luke doubt himself with Grogu. He is still incredibly young so it makes sense that he has doubts and hesitation, especially in the presence of Ashoka
@@charleslee8313 It is kind of weird that people not raised as Jedi would hardline the attachments thing so much. Luke trained Leia, who absolutely has more attachments than Grogu
Every time one of John Williams's themes from the trilogies plays, it just proves how important and how major a part of Star Wars his music really is. Gets me every time.
Can we just appreciate how amazing this is? Seeing a young Luke Skywalker training a baby version of Yoda, getting advice from a live action Ahsoka Tano, all while Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, a live action Black Krrsantan and the two Gamorrean guards prepare for a war against the Pykes - with live action Cad fucking Bane against them? I don't know if my heart can take anymore D:
Fact that someone - I don't know who - online asked how cool it would be if we saw Grogu being trained by Luke the same way Luke was trained by Yoda...... and in this episode... we get it.
@@beansandbandaids8667 I don't think we needed to see grogu and Luke this early. They should have saved it as the start of Mando season 3. It's obvious he's gonna chose Mando cause disney needs to milk more merch and him going with Luke means he's written off the story.
Dude, same. My wife was watching with me and never saw "Clone Wars." She didn't understand why I nutted so hard when Bane walked into the shot and was slowly revealed, and I told her that Cob Vanth was probably going to die there. That made her upset because she loves Timothy Olyphant.
When Luke said “Will I see you again?”, I instantly thought of when Anakin said that to his mother in Ep. 1. Don’t know if that was intentional or not, but it was the first thing I thought of.
@@stevesmith9617 Let's pretend you didn't say that 😆 No, I'm 100% that's NOT the case. If anything Ashoka is the last living person that Luke may know that has memories of Anakin and Padme. Luke is still human and wants to be able to see Ashoka again because of her connection with his birth parents.
Her and Luke are more contemporaries, like the science and math teacher in high school. Ahsoka is like the teacher with a bit more tenure, but not the Principal.
Din not seeing grogu is literally like a parent leaving their children off for preschool but can’t see them during school hours. My own dad actually was brought to tears just like last week because it reminded so much of my first day. It’s one of those ouniversal feelings even in a galaxy far far away. We legitimately had to pause it because we got THAT emotional which rarely happens.
Ahsoka is fanservice... and a very, very good fanservice. You already have a good story, a good plot, and the top cherry cake, is Ahsoka talking with the son of her master. I love it!
I agree. I’ve seen some people on the internet wishing they’d trained with lightsabers or for anakins ghost to appear etc. Too much. Filoni delivered subtle perfection here
@@rohanrodrigues7115 Even if it was unnecessary, it was well done, it was great. If you saw how much fanservice there is that adds nothing to the story and is only done to appeal to the nostalgia of the fans. In this case, seeing Luke and Ahsoka together, and having ahsoka mention her father to him, or say she's a friend of the family... it's worth it. It's what you call a DESERVED fanservice.
my hubby made me watch all the movies and shows and stuff. I don't remember many details ... I also said he should ally with the Jawas and he burst out laughing at me 😂😂😭😂
Not only that but if they keep this franchise going on Disney+ with other shows etc. They can’t keep paying Sebastian Stan, a expensive actor for something that can be done with deepfake. And this way they’ll keep improving on the tech as well.
I laughed when I saw the little chainmail shirt because it reminded me of the Mithril shirt Frodo has in LOTR. Then I said "Frogu" and made myself laugh again.
Cade Bane showing up was literally the greatest moment in the whole series for me. The designers did such a great job making him as cool and menacing as he was in animation. Also, I’m pretty sure my family thinks I’m crazy now because I literally started fangirl screaming when I recognized his figure.
He looks too new. He needs some lines, some wrinkles, maybe a slightly darker blue hue, a slightly dark shade of red for the eyes. I think his gauntlet were pretty clean too. Everything about him felt like new paint. He's like a Vespa Teens of Cad Banes. I'm wondering if that's his grandson or something. It reminded me of very good cosplay, but lacking in budget. If anything the skin needs more details.
I was crying a lot during this episode... I wasnt prepared for anything! As erick said, "You can call it fan service... And I feel serviced." Truer words have never been spoken!
Holy wow…I just realized that the lightsaber moves Luke did in front of Grogu were the same ones Anakin did while Ashoka and Ezra were watching the Holocron in Star Wars Rebels!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We live in a golden age of Star Wars. What a time to be alive. Rip all the Star Wars fans that were lost before this era. May the force be with you.
A really good friend of mine was a HUGE Starwars fan, he passed away about 15 years ago, watching all this great Starwars content is bittersweet because I know how much he would be enjoying all this stuff! RIP Steve.
Exactly I feel the same way RIP 🙏🕊 to all these souls who have passed away due to covid, disease, shootings or murders or car accidents and etc who were Star Wars fans and never got a chance to watch this awesome star wars content being unleashed in this year of 2022 I know a few amount of people who died due to cancer, a shooting, and a car accident and were huge star wars fans 😔.
lol golden age was 20 years ago, this could be the second or third coming if they abandon the dead weight of the sequels. If they force it to that terrible plot than this goodwill may die quickly
Oh Aaron and Eric shedding all the tears. I feel you! I got so nostalgic and overwhelmed with joy seeing all these beloved characters and relics. Gosh.
18:15 Eric: No close-up for Max? Where’s Max? Rick: He took the night off. Aaron: He left! Tatooine’s getting crazy! I can already see Max waddling off, a stubby little blue elephant, complaining about his next gig. Also love when the crew said the Pykes might like Max’s music so much they told him not to go into work that night. Max is always getting his way out of trouble.
This episode was just a rollercoaster of emotions, Cobb Vanth, Grogu, young Luke standing side by side with live action Ashoka, live action CAD FUCKING BANE. Disney doing excellent world building for universes and giving Star Wars fans treats
I believe Luke is testing Grogu. Just like how Yoda and Obi-wan tested Luke by making him choose between saving his friends or continuing his training with Yoda. We all know who Luke chose and when he came back, Yoda called him a Jedi. Luke also mentions to Ahsoka that Grogu is remembering his training more than him actually teaching Grogu.
Oh i really hope that's it. Otherwise as much as it pains me, he needs to choose the armor and go to his daddy mando because if he didnt that would hurt more
When Luke came back and asked if he is a jedi Yoda laughed in his face, he tasked him with confronting Vader to become a jedi However I do hope Luke is testing Grogu, see that Luke chose the 'armor' over the jedi every time (saving his friends then saving his father)
That helps. Ur I still am uncomfortable with this. Just feels like he already chose, why renig this. Stay until it matters. Mando can fill full episodes of Mandalore plot…. Lol the name I just used was unintentional….
Eric having grown man tears when Ahsoka talks about him being like his father - then realizing it's Cad bane and getting out of his seat; is exactly what happened with me. LOL Love it.
"So much like your father". That line was so incredible. I felt so many emotions from those words. Even reminded me that it was my father who took me to see Jedi in the theater when I was 6 years old.
They got a new double for Luke, a guy called Graham Hamilton who looks a lot more like Hamill than Max Lloyd Jones does. I'm sure that helps make it easier and more convincing, in addition to Shamook helping out. Also during the Order 66 scene you can see Barriss Offees crest on the wall.
Love the episode but i get angry at myself not liking the deepfake! It pulls me off the universe. Maan Sebastian Stan would be sooo perfect! To get a real actor to interact with Grogu. I know im supposed to love myself Eric, but it pulls me off...
@@tdoom1354 Am I the only one who thinks the whole Sebastian Stan thing was always overhyped based just on 1 photo? @@lookn4juliet Boba Fett's highlights are watching his dad get decapitated, being Vader and Jabba's lapdog followed by getting a "death" worthy of a Stormtrooper. I hate bounty hunters and find them boring but atleast Cad Bane was competent enough to outsmart the Jedi on several occasions.
@@lookn4juliet i get what you mean, but i think people focus too much on the name of the show, i see it more as a side story of the mandalorian, its still the same show with all the vast characters
I can watch Luke running thru a forest with Grogu on his back, doing flips and training him for hours and it still wouldn’t get old. This was everything I wanted to see from Luke in the sequels. Thank you Feloni and Favreau.
This episode looks like a Game of Thrones episode. Different characters, different locations, different plots all connected. And actually, I'd be ok with a Star Wars show built like this.
You know it’s a good episode when not only Eric but Aaron tear up. That line about being just like your father got to me. I’m hoping for a flashback to see when luke and ahsoka first met
This series isn’t about boba feet anymore. It’s just fan service the series. It all doesn’t make any sense, but as long as it is emotionally charging our audience to be happy or happy tearing, it means it’s good. Who cares about good storytelling when all we need to do is show young Yoda or Cad Bane to get people back together? Actually stupid, Disney Star Wars has become.
I would like to see Grogu force-construct his own lightsaber and incorporate Luke's teachings of what it means to be a Jedi into the way of being a Mandalorian. The two ideologies seem incompatible, but I think Grogu has what it takes to combine both, like Tar Viszla. Grogu should become... The Jedilorian.

This was an incredible episode. Two things come to mind 1) I’m sure we are going to see Grogu’s flashback in the future but this time it will show who saved him when the clones were running towards him 2) I feel like in the finale that Cad and Fennic will have an exchange next week where someone mentions something about Omega/Cloned Girl in front of Boba and Boba will learn of Omega

Thats gotta be the one thing i expected more in reguards to the show, in that i thought part of the reason boba becomes protector of tatooine (i guess it is the case still) is that he respected the tuskans enough to protect their interests, among other things. And i really hoped he would earn the backing of almost all tusken tribes for the upcoming mob war, which hasn't really happened.
In a single live action episode we got Cobb Vanth, R2D2, Din Djarin, Ashoka, Luke, Grogu, Cad Bane and all I gotta say is IS MAX REBO SAFE? IS HE ALRIGHT?
It's not only awesome to see Cad Bane appear in Live-Action but also awesome that Corey Burton who voiced Cad Bane in The Clone Wars and Bad Batch animated series is still the voice for him in Book of Boba Fett instead of going with a different actor/voice instead.

Ashoka seems a lot happier now knowing her masters Fate and that his Offspring Luke inherits his best qualities. It was great to finally see the two interact with each other. Luke CGI was also top notch, still uncanny at certain points but generally a lot better than the Mandalorian S2 Version. I was surprised at first how little Time was spent with boba, but then again it is called “Book” of Boba Fett, and like any book some chapters wouldn’t be focused on the protagonist but other characters instead. Seeing Cobb Vanth was great with the start establishing his skill as a gunslinger, but once Cad Bane came in he was a dead man. Speaking of Cad Bane his implementation into live action was perfect, the voice is intimidating and his design is unsettling and puts us right in Cobb’s shoes with the fear he felt in his presence. Overall great episode and I look forward to the finale next week with perhaps a final duel between Boba and Cad Bane.
I feel like the choice is definiterly a test. Disney is setting up Grogu to be the second mandalorian jedi in history so there's no way he chooses just one. I was also hoping Mando would have showed Ahsoka the dark saber since she's fought against it in the clone wars and knows about it, but oh well maybe next time.
@@tonyjackson4078 I'm aware, I meant I was hoping he'd show it to her since it's similiar to a lightsaber and that I hoped the showrunners would have made that happen since she knew about it.

And Cad Bane has a metal plate on his forehead it BB? just because Cad's alive doesnt mean the duel never happened.
Cad Bane is TERRIFYING in live action and I LOVE IT. I am so happy to see him. And I'm so happy to see Luke and Ahsoka share a moment. It felt so incredibly special. 😭
Wonder what Shand's reaction will be. She and Bane kicked the shit out of each other in Bad Batch. WHAT IF....Fett's army is the Bad Batch?? What if we get Omega??? What if Cad is really working for Qi'ra and this is all Crimson Dawn and then Bo Katan goes nuclear to get revenge for her sister's death
I found the force lifting of the frog-things so emotional. Like the way Luke had tried to lift the x-wing before Yoda did it. Now Luke is the master. This episode was everything I needed from star wars.
I loved the reactions to Cad Bane. He was my Boba Fett. The one I thought was the coolest and scariest bounty hunter. For me, he was THE Bounty Hunter. The guy you never ever wanted to cross.
I feel the decision to have Asoka in this episode was more for a narrative tool than fan service. They needed someone to convince Djarin not to see Grogu. I guess you can argue they could have had Luke do it but remember they really had to limit and film around him
If they'd had Luke do it, he'd be the bad guy. Having Ahsoka do it, who already rejected teaching Grogu before, there is an element of wisdom but also a grey area of necessary evil, and it continues the thread she started by pointing out the emotional attachment between the two and the danger it poses. Having her remind Luke leads him to give Grogu the choice. This way it's not Luke forcing Grogu to choose him, but Luke acting om Ahsoka's advice, which is rooted in her experience with Anakin and the Jedi council. It gives it more weight, and keeps Luke innocent.
This was even better then season two finale of mandolorian, so many ties ins and links between prequels and the original as well as bringing new things to the ever expanding universe, Star Wars really is a beautiful franchise and I’m so happy to be a fan and seeing others have same/similar experiences to me whilst watching it all and taking it in
Agreed. I think he wants Grogu to choose the lightsaber to voluntarily give up attachments and once he proves he can, he will get the armor. Just like Luke has his connection to family and friends but knows when to step away.
Just saw the episode and Cad Bane looked and sounded soooooo good!! I'm still in shock that he showed up but he's the perfect character to insert in this storyline.

I teared up in the exact same places. This was just phenomenal! Incredible that it keeps getting better and better!
Din barely knew the history of it, beyond the things Bo or Gideon stated. The Covert seems to operate on a "ask we'll explain, nothing more" basis.
@@tonyjackson4078 I'm aware, I meant I was hoping he'd show it to her since it's similiar to a lightsaber and that I hoped the showrunners would have made that happen since she knew about it.
I really hope Grogu will be the *2ND* Mandalorian Jedi and that he'll get the darksaber at some point after Din
Do u think if grogu held the darksaber it will adjust the blade length?
3rd Mandalorian Jedi, pretty sure Revan still counts.
@@MethosFilms No, but that would be amusing.
@@Deathlygunn was Revan a mandalorian as well? i thought he was a jedi and a sith, if he was all 3 then holy moly he is even more cool, please let me know friend :)
there is no way that both the chainmail and the VERY convenient droid space in dins new ship are just randomly there with this much focus and build up.. i believe next week (thats what i posted on reddit as well) our group (mando, boba, fennec and co) are in big trouble (its a season finale, so something will go wrong) and then luke with grogu will save the day. mando will ask what luke is doing here, who responds "grogu has made his decision" which will lead to 1 of 3 outcomes:
1. grogu wears the chainmail and decided to be with his dadalorian
2. grogu says a final goodbye to mando (here i go crying again)
3. the battle ends, screen fades, tune in to season 3 to find out what grogu chose
We got Luke talking to Ahsoka about a baby "yoda" after the Mandalorian went to see them in a Boba Fett series, I love Star Wars
*Filoni and Favreau. I love Filoni and Favreau
@@rowenjohnson so you don’t like Star Wars?
Yes and that is great and everyone talks about it but what me got more was ….. Ashoka and R2D2 interacting! That touch like “hallo old friend” !!!
Aunt Ahsoka, "So much like your father" That line hurt so much in the best way. So thankful for Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
My jaw dropped when Cade Bane first came on the screen, I love it, such a badass character!
I have a prediction. Even though the Boba flashbacks have ended, we've still had a flashback in every episode so what if next episode's flashback is to the unfinished scene from Clone Wars when Bane and Boba have their duel?
If that’s the case, it would be incredible. I’m gonna refuse to let myself hope for that much though
I thought about that too. It would be a perfect setup for the rivalry between them.
Can people just forget about that already? Its obvious they gave up on that idea the second Bane should up in bad batch.
@@apassionatenerd.3564 bro, what? You think it's a coincidence that Boba still has the unexplained dent in his helmet (I know it was designed as of OT 40 years ago, but they would've given an explanation for it by now if it wasn't some huge reveal.) And Cad Bane has a metal plate on his forehead it BB? just because Cad's alive doesnt mean the duel never happened.
@@apassionatenerd.3564 it could've still happened. Bane had a metal plate on his head in Bad Batch, so he could've gotten a grazing headshot from Boba
Seeing Luke and Ahsoka together made me violently sob. I cant wait to possibly see their first meeting in the Ahsoka show
As a massive Ahsoka fan i have wanted her to meet Luke (in cannon) for sooo long.
'Violently sob' lmao
Will she talk with Leia? Interesting to see the dynamic between them seeing how she hates her father and she was her father’s old apprentice.
Blind Wave: Are we gonna see more Mando or go back to Boba?
Dave Filoni: Why not both…? And some more? 😏
Din and Grogus relationship is unparalleled, reminds me of me and my dog. I'm so invested, shit brings me to tears
When They finally showed Cad Bane's face, I shouted "YESSSSSSSS! WE ARE IN THE CORRECT TIMELINE!"
True, tossing being Ashoka and Luke talking din out, better choice for it to be Ashoka
What an episode....some of the best Star Wars content we’ve seen in years. All hail Jon and Dave!
I wonder if this was Luke's first view of order 66?
I'm sure he's heard stories but never saw any of it
Woah man that’s a serious thought, interesting
This was even better then season two finale of mandolorian, so many ties ins and links between prequels and the original as well as bringing new things to the ever expanding universe, Star Wars really is a beautiful franchise and I’m so happy to be a fan and seeing others have same/similar experiences to me whilst watching it all and taking it in
I think Luke is just testing Grogu and that regardless of what he chooses, he’d still gift him with the other item.
Agreed. I think he wants Grogu to choose the lightsaber to voluntarily give up attachments and once he proves he can, he will get the armor. Just like Luke has his connection to family and friends but knows when to step away.
I hope this is the case
"Lol JK Grogu, I was just trolling you"
I didn't think I was gonna spend the entirety of two episodes grinning like a fool
Just saw the episode and Cad Bane looked and sounded soooooo good!! I'm still in shock that he showed up but he's the perfect character to insert in this storyline.
