A delight! Love Ghost Julie - that could open up a whole series of chats with the ghosts of famous players. Remember the line about Ty Cobb in the film?
People frequently get a lot of shit wrong. Frankenstein was the scientist, not the monster. And no, you don't have a theory; you have a hypothesis. Theories aren't guesses.
A lot of people don't realise that there's lot more Hollywood films based on actual events than they realise: Field of Dreams, The Exorcist, Gremlins, The Substance...
Damn, I watched this entire sketch with "A League of Their Own" in my mind the whole time. I was so confused! Maybe I need to go watch "Field of Dreams". Or maybe I just prefer the baseball movie that is inspired by a true story, if not terribly strictly based on it. Or maybe two things can be true.
I know this isn't the takeaway but Julie I'm EXTREMELY feeling both shirts in this video! (Also we can't 100% confirm a field of dreams adjacent real life event happened. I'm just saying!)😂
I never really thought that "Field of Dreams" was really a baseball movie. It was a movie with baseball in it but I didn't think that was the point. Well that's just me, perhaps.
Now I feel like the biggest idiot in the world. I clicked on the video because I read the title and was surprised to see that 'Field of Dreams' was based on a true story. 😊
I thought it was based on a true story. People see ghosts all the time. I don't recall the film having anyone other than Kevin Costner's character confirm that they saw the ghosts too.
I haven't seen this movie but I heard there's a Mandela effect about it. Julie said the famous phrase too "if you build it they will come" as everyone remembers it. But allegedly in the movie they actually say "if you build it HE will come" so everyone remembers it wrong. Can anyone comfirm? Or do I have to watch it myself? :D
Polaroid might have been a sponsor, but it may be more that the two shirts match their personalities. Who knows, maybe the shirts were an inspiration for the sketch.
I mean, it *is* based on real people. Shoeless Joe Jackson and Archibald "Moonlight" Graham were both real people. And, in the novel that the film is based on, the author that Ray meets is real author J.D. Salinger.
Sword in the Stone (1963) is a true story. Right now, today, in England, there is a hermetically sealed room and in that room is a sword cast into a stone. One piece, the top is a sword with a hilt and golden engravings and the bottom is a rock. This exists right now in England. A lot of stories that we think are made up are not, all stories are true in an infinite timeline.
HE! For Pete's sake. HE. If you build it, HE will come. Not they. This is more annoying than "Luke, I'm you father" or "Then I took and arrow to the knee." There should be a rule that if you misquote a famous line from popular media, you get smacked over the head with the script. No hard feelings. Love your work, Julie :D :D :D :D :D
I was told if I built a pickle ball court they would come. Then I remembered I didn't want them too.
They're not dead just really old.
lol pickleball. The feel good sport for those who don’t want to learn tennis, aren’t fast enough for ping pong, and are embarrassed to play badminton.
I mean if you get drunk enough in a cornfield you start seeing some shit
excellent point
*Mirror Julie has entered the chat*
Growing up in rural Ontario I can confirm this.
Field of dreams is based on true story.
Especially if corn isn't the only grass in the field.
Was not expecting ghost Julie, well played. 😂😂
yes, well played indeed! A visual punchline...who knew!? 😁
If you build it, Julie will make a funny video about it!
Ha! You knocked this video out of the park.
That's a sports metaphor. ;-)
@@jaspermcjasper3672 You're welcome … uhm, sporty!
You can visit the real filming location and play baseball there. My dad goes every year with his senior league and has a blast
lol that's how this whole conversation got started
… and he will do so for all eternity. ;-)
Talking about movies where the other person hasnt seen it or where there is clearly an enthusiasm gap, is one of the most irritating social interactions regardless of whether i'm a participant or just an observer
Oh yes! And in my family, this is exponentially true if the movie in question involves Monty Python 😆😜
Hmmm...."enthusiasm gap"
*yoink*
I met an adult human person who had never heard of "The Truman Show." I didn't know where to go from there.

Okay, so I'm glad you make your own content instead of just doing reaction videos, it is freaking hilarious!
Yes! And always so good.

I had braced for the skit to go one way, and was completely unprepared
I want a Part 2 of this so bad! 😄
Love the twist at the end. Totally unexpected!
No greater gift than giving the gift of laughter-Julie has it perfected!
Filmed in my hometown of Dyersville, Iowa. And Julie, you might appreciate it was based on a book by WP Kinsella, who was also from Alberta.
Does she still chat with the Great Old One that calls itself Mirror Julie?

One minute of pure Julie gold 🤗
This one feels like a "to be continued" kind of thing.
Wow. Eyeshadow game is tight on this one! Love it.
I feel called out on how often I don't follow what the media trends are
I get a little sense of nostalgia whenever I see the signs from Honest Ed’s in the background of your videos
I'm shocked that you haven't been put on SNL yet. Such Canadianism is outrageous!
Loving the short form sketches. The longer ones were still brilliant, shorter sketches pack more punch.
This video just eased my pain
Cool artwork behind the ghost player.
They're literally signs from a store for consumers

"A League of Their Own" is the *best*
The best baseball movie would be the other Kostner baseball movie
@@tcnymex That would be Bull Durham.
I haven't seen A League of their Own, but I'm told it has too much crying and not enough ghosts.
@@tcnymex Which one of the total of 4 movies with Costner that revolve around baseball? :D
I refer the esteemed TH-cam commenter to the masterpiece that is "Major League". I will be taking no further questions.
At least your ghosts aren't rude like Ryan George's.
I've always been partial to Bad News Bears
OMG! this is great! If you make it people will watch it! If you have a show people will come!
Jeepers Creepers II becomes my Field of Nightmares when I think of a big cornfield in the middle of nowhere filled with paranormality.
I've been on that field. Waiting for you to show us what happens the next half of the inning.
Intresting wondering if there is a part 2

I read. "Don't eat too smart. Especially with people who have strong onions."
Maybe a sign that I'm hungry.
Ghost baseball? That's nothing! Ghost pottery is where it's at!
This is so great!
Best movie of ALL time!
Oh, snap. Julie discovered CGI. We're truly... blessed ;-)
Every time Julie uploads, I click due to her being one of the cool kids on the block. 😅
Love it, I giggled. Youssa good actor.
Joe Jackson had a couple of big hits in the '80's.
I'm old enough to get this!!
He must of been stepping’ out of that corn field.
The Sixth Base (if we think of the pitcher's mound as a fifth).
Nice to see the ghost of Shirtless Julie Jackson make an appearance.
I love your channel and your video, Julia. ❤
Polaroid Julie's hair looks amazing!
It wasn't a true story? Oh great, now you're gonna tell me that The Sixth Sense wasn't a documentary too...
"If you build it HE will come". The line was talking about his father. Everyone seems to misquote this movie! 😂
It makes my blood boil!
People frequently get a lot of shit wrong. Frankenstein was the scientist, not the monster. And no, you don't have a theory; you have a hypothesis. Theories aren't guesses.
To be fair, there're a lot of baseball movies base on true stories 42, Moneyball, A League of Their Own...
The ghosts have a league of their own
It's an older reference but it checks out.
Is it just baseball, or does it work for, say, skiing?
If you build a ski slope in a corn field, i will haunt you.
I've skied in Iowa.
Home run!❤

Replayed it a second time.
Laughing even more!
😂
If they replaced the baseball field with a brothel it would make the "If you build it they will come" line take on a new meaning.
Thanks for the video! Hilarious!
Build a jacuzzi and they will come, okay

What did the Montreal Expos batter say to the baseball? "I miss you."

Ah, so we're getting a Canadian remake of the British TV show "Ghosts" (2019) after all.
I feel I really get this one... but, I can't talk about it.
I mean, it *is* based on real people. Shoeless Joe Jackson and Archibald "Moonlight" Graham were both real people. And, in the novel that the film is based on, the author that Ray meets is real author J.D. Salinger.
"Ghost" is also based on a true story, and Whoopi Goldberg plays herself in the movie.
The movie is based on a Canadian novel. So, go Canada!
I thought you were going to end this with googling it and finding out someone really did build that field 🤣
