One of Kevin Costner best movies. I loved this movie from the first set. I have watched it about 100 times now. I loved it I guess the most because I wish it was my father and I playing catch. My father didn’t like baseball and out of all the years I played the game he only came to one game and my mother had to make him. Now my mother came to a few games over the years cause she is the one I got my love for hardball. I remember for years my mother and me would watch every game on tv of the Cincinnati Reds. She knew my life long dream was to play Major League Baseball and the only team I would play for was the Big Red Machine. I can to this day remember after almost 50 years watching the Cincinnati Reds win back to back World Series in 1975 and 1976. The last night my mother was alive I talked to her about almost every game we watched together. Even tho she was in a semi coma I knew she listened to every word I said because I could see the tears coming out of her eyes. I believe watching them games was the happiness in her life and mine. RIP mom and dad. Love you both and never a day goes by I don’t look to heaven and say I love you. You both are truly missed.

Mr Costner is always the consummate gentleman. He shares the stage with any other actor. The fact that he would take the time to play catch with the grown men and solidify another memorable moment tells you the deep well of generosity in his heart. But that Kevin!

I did play catch with my Father as a child but it all came to an end when he died two days after my fourteenth birthday, I never got to say those things to my Dad that I would have liked to have said as a man. Every time I watch Field Of Dreams the tears flow as I think about all those things I would have said to my Dad, my Pops, my Father, my Friend, and my Buddy. I'm seventy now but I still remember the Man who would have done anything for me, his son, his buddy.

I was traveling for work before the pandemic and ran into Kevin Costner at a Marriott hotel in Massachusetts. I went up and talked to him as he was about to check out of the hotel. He was super nice and asked what I did. I was so nervous I forgot all the movies he was in haha but he was so cool and nice. One of the times where it worked out to meet one of your heroes. Thank you Kevin Costner!! You’re awesome!

The first time I saw the movie I thought it was the dumbest movie I have ever watched, I was playing baseball in college, a pitcher none the less. I was playing catch with my Dad all the time. The second time I watched it, my dad had long passed, I cried like a baby. I have to get to that field one day.

I live in NM. Been there 3 times now on my way back to Ohio where my 98 year old dad lives and a huge baseball fan his whole life. He even played during WWII on a team in Virginia before being shipped to Germany. The last time I visited I took my Dad on our way back to Ohio from Omaha. He had no clue where we were headed. Told him we were taking a back road on the way to Chicago. The day we pulled into the field there were 100’s of people there. Caught me off guard but it was “reenactment day” with the Black Sox playing a game. One of the best memories I will ever have being there with him. The only thing I regret we couldn’t walk out onto the field so could take a picture of him walking out of the corn. Wished I could have thrown the hardball one more time with him.

I lost him last year. I just realized that we won’t be able to go now. Sitting here, in his rocking chair, I can’t believe he’s gone.

I lived a year near Dyersville, IA. There is also one of most beautiful Basilicas in the country there (St. Francis Xavier), and I always thought that the Basilica inspired the line, "Build it and they will come." As there is no reason such a small town should build such a huge and magnificent Basilica, except--Build it and they will come. This movie was made the year after I moved away. The movie is great because it opens the completely mundane and natural to the supernatural, and makes faith real.

3:30 When Kevin is asked by the interviewer to choose one or two of his most touching encounters with fans who have been moved by the film Field of Dreams, and Kevin says that those anecdotes shared by fans of the film are each of equal value and weight, and then shares the story of a man who watched Field of Dreams repeatedly with his dying father and who thanked Kevin for this time he shared with his Dad...

Of course I’m glad the field still exists today, and happy to have watched the game last night, but a little part of me was disappointed in the changes made to field. The original field reminded me so much of my days as a kid, when my friends and I played baseball on fields that looked so much like the original one. The older lighting, the sparse bleacher seats, the old backstop etc...I just feel the modernization of it lost a little of those special memories. I did feel a little bit of that nostalgia last night when Tim Anderson hit the walk off home run, maybe you know this, but guess who was the first White Sox player to hit a walk off HR against the Yankees.........that’s right......shoeless Joe Jackson.

I usually like to watch this film in the warmer months of the year when the day is hot and sunny. It's one of those films that I might come across while channel surfing and if I see its on but I'm not quite in the mood to watch it, I leave it on while I continue with daily choirs. I like hearing the music and dialogue in the background as I go about shuffling through my home. What a really heart warming movie this is. I understand why it means so much to people.

Been there twice, one time last September. Barely made it before they closed the parking area. It was cold, misting, nearly dark and my wife and I were the only ones there. I walked out to the corn, looked back at the field and cried. I was 64 that day and gazed at a baseball field, standing in between rows of corn and cried. I doubt any movie past or future will have that effect on myself or any other father or son. My Dad had passed the April before this movie was released. When Kevin Costner says "Dad", I lose it everytime.

My cousin got up at his Dad's funeral to mention how his father would come home from farming, tired and hot but would stop and play catch with his son if asked to do so. My cousin never forgot that a simple act that can cover a multitude of sins so to speak and created a memory never to be forgotten of bonding and love. All Dads should play catch, if if badly, and make memories and a legacy.
