Which Niro would you chose?
Niro EV
I went for the PHEV in Active trim which is I think the 3 trim in the UK
The 3 version of none plug in makes the most sense and offers the best value. The additional cost of the PHED (£5800) would take approximately 93000 miles to justify the extra cost, based on the car using electric only for 50% of the time
Phev
I have an HEV but if I could have afforded it I would have gone for the PHEV. The practicalities and deprecation of the full electric version puts me off owning one
I own a late previous generation Hybrid 3 version. It is probably the nicest car I have ever driven. I prefer the exterior of the new version, but the switch gear of the previous model. Mine is in white, which suits the car really well. I would have liked the plug in version, but would never have retrieved the additional cost through fuel savings

Hi from Canada. I wanted the PHEV when I was shopping, but went for the top of the line 2019 SX touring hybrid. Maybe next time, I will go for the PHEV in a mid level EX trim, now that the horsepower is improved on that motor.

I believe has the rotary dial gear selector, a 10” touchscreen and sat nav. So I’ve read . Plus back seat alerts. Were they available on this one here 14:07 please mate ? Also keyless entry and stop start button. Thats an awful lot of differences no?
Do you get ambien lighting and power liftgate in the hybrid model?
The spec will depend on your country; the best thing I would suggest is check the Kia specifications as things change and I don’t want to tell you the wrong information.
Also do keep in mind the fully digital driver's display is only on the 4/Premium trim
The 10.5" screen is on the version 3 and the 4 trim, the 2 trim also has a digital display but its 8" , 2.5 inches shorter but still fully digital.
Is 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid bigger than the 2022 version? I really like the small size of 2022 one. I don't want too big cuz I deliver food with it. Easier to park
It is 65mm longer, 20mm wider, 10mm taller; with 20mm longer wheelbase.
No front parking sensors on the 2 either, correct?
And you don’t even get folding mirrors on the 2. I can’t believe they give you auto cruise control but no folding mirrors.
seems like having the nice IP screen from the Kia 6 allows Kia to crank up the price considerably.
Better equipment is how they differentiate and increase prices. The important thing to realise is the drive trains and performance/range are the same on all the different trims.
Please advise, i liked your videos and subscribed. For Edmonton Alberta Canada i have 4 options Either Hybrid or Fuel cars. Budget max CAD $24,000 for fuel and CAD $27,000 for Hybrid.

Thanks, being in the UK we don’t have the Seltos and I haven’t driven the other cars but looking at them if your happy with the design and space and drive of the Niro I would go for that on the basis that it will have more standard equipment as a newer model.
The main reason I would never buy a Plug in Hybrid is owners have to buy petrol AND electricity!! Ive owned a Kia Niro HEV for 3 years and have just ordered a new one. With energy costs through the roof the PHEV makes little sense to me.
Also I find I can easily drive the HEV in EV mode at speeds under about 30mph and the engine will only kick in when I accelerate or need to drive up hill, I often do this when driving short local trips.
Did you have any issues with the DCT gearbox ???
I'm really keen on either a Kia Niro HEV or Hyundai Kona HEV and both got the same engine gearbox combo
@@wosamosman9814 none what so ever I have had my SEV Niro 3 1/2 years and had zero problems. There are a couple of things I dont like about it though, firstly the lane assist is *on* by default and as I find it alarming in urban traffic as I often drive down narrow roads with cars parked on both sides and the lane assist almost drags the car back when I cross the middle line to drive round parked cars, so I have to turn it off every time i start the damn car (annoying) and I hate the fabric pull out parcel shelf as i prefer a stiff shelve i can put my hat on. Other than that I love it and have ordered a new model which will hopefully arrive in September. (0rdered in December last year!!!)

Niro 3 self-charging has 4.2 & 10.2 displays & niro 4 has x2 10.2 please see the full specifications of the cars.

I also reviewed the Kia Niro in my channel! I must say that it looks FAR more desirable than last generation! The interior is similar to the EV6, but still epic! could do with better practicality solutions!

The eNiro is a car I recommend but remember if it has a chimney its not an EV!
Then why are they called a PHEV or an HEV then? The clues in the name.
@@SidBonkers51 I never recommend hybrids as they are a complete con! Diesels with adblue produce less cO2 than most hybrids, there is no valid argument for not going full BEV anymore. My wife & I both drive BEVs & we did over 800km in one journey recently & we also pull a box trailer with the same car. So I still say that if your has a chimney its not an electric vehicle, buy a diesel instead!
@@wilkoone9155 How are they a con? I dont understand. With electricity prices through the roof unless you only charge an EV at home they are more expensive to run that a petrol let alone a hybrid, and if your driving long distances you are forced to pay top prices at the road side chargers, now that s a con IMHO.
Here's an honest consumer review. I'm not a fan of Kia's 2024 Niro Hybrid SUV, or its pricing. I was given a charcoal gray one as a loaner while my 2024 Seltos is being serviced, and I am disappointed to say the least.
Niro's seats are comfy, but it rides rough. You can feel every bump in the road, and it looks and feels boring and cheap inside and out. It reminds me of an old-fashioned station wagon because it's so low to the ground.
I prefer my Seltos, but Kia needs to lose the high gloss, black piano trims on all their models. It's beyond awful. I even went up a model to avoid most of it, but what's there always looks dusty, and fingerprinted. There's already see light scratches on mine with less than 200 miles on it. Trust me, you will hate it.
12 to 14 months for delivery absolutely no transparency In regards to them accepting contracts that they signed for the 2022. Stay far away
This is the same for EVERY new car. I ordered a new car in August 2021 and it isn’t due until next year.

I agree - this calling hatchbacks SUV is just silly ..and I have stood next to one and sat in one - its about the same size as a hatchback toyota Corolla from the 90's. PS the 6 speed is not auto - it is Kias 6 speed DCT - ie dual clutch transmission...and the paddles can shift gears in sport mode can they not ? That wasn't mentioned in your review, which was enjoyable as you are the first reviewer to mention the 4 trim levels and the differences.
Thanks, I put up on screen that it was a DCT - but I didn’t mention it in the driving section other than saying it is automatic which was referring to the fact your not shifting gears yourself and not the type of gearbox. I found it to be a smoother drive than the Sportage.

@@graantmnz when you register a Kia Niro here where I live, it is registered as a stationwagon/break... not a hatchback. But I agree with you... My Toyota CHR is a hatchback and they call that a compact SUV LOL
