I have the EX. Agree with most of what you say. Very smooth and refined and I find it quiet. I recently did a 1400 mile trip Ohio to North Carolina. Averaged 70 + mph through the mountains of WV. Had a bike rck and 60 lb bike on the back. I averaged 42 mpg. I have gotten up to 52 mpg in warm weather around town. I use real time measurements and not the in car computer. 7000 miles and I like the car alot
I've watched both videos now.. and I'm really liking this Hybrid Niro! You know, Retired Military Guy that likes to do some door dash for some extra cash, and the social is fun to. lol
i was given one as a loner yesterday I am coming from a k5 and a forte gt2 and I was very unimpressed with the hybrid model, it lacks power and the constant switching from ev mode to gas is annoying never lets the battery build charge no matter how I drive, the basic controls such as the hvac and assisted driving modes are horrible to navigate. the car handles like a 1995 mercury villager tons of body roll the car just sucks. the mpg however is good with its puny 104hp.
@@19schneider85 104 horsepower?? You're clearly not in the U.S., as ours here are 139hp. There's also a turbo variant that puts out 200hp. Transition from electric motor to gas engine is seamless and unnoticeable. Too bad your experience sucked.....
@@carlv8168 when I did a quick search on google the base hp is 104 which is awful now I am seeing the hybrid is a little more, still a dog and I understand it's not a sports car but it couldn't get out of its own way.
Sir, I just bought this vehicle after viewing your review twice. I’m looking at it again because I need to make sure I know how to use this car effectively. My driving speed & distance everyday is extreme, so I have to adjust how I drive. Feel free to give some additional advise.
Should be pretty good long term, but make sure to do all your factory scheduled maintenance and keep records to keep the 100k mile powertrain warranty active.
The only reason I don't consider other hybrid vehicles is because when it comes time to replace the battery Toyota always has much cheaper options. From what I have seen anyways

Would you say the EX is worth the upgrade for all the extra equipment you get? Seems like a great package and only 1 trim up!!!
@@John.Christopher Yes. I did not get the Touring package and wish I did.

Great review. I've been looking at the Sportage, but it just doesn't have the MPG I'm hoping for. This just might be a good alternative. 🙂
I'm going to look at an EX hybrid model tomorrow after work.
Bonsoir de Belgique
Merci et de votre franchise, car elle sera notre prochaine voiture d'ici un ou deux mois
bonne soirée et merci
Do u recommend it for Uber drivers ?
that wiggle of the stearing wheel got me anxious.
That shaking in the steering wheel wore me out in my 2017. Don't like the blade at back. It should have been a window.
how is the relaibility of this car?

That is not a digital tachometer.
Sure it is. It shows the engine speed /1000. 2.4 displayed is 2400 rpm.
