I have the 2024 EX hybrid and it's great so far. Over 2100 miles in just under 3 weeks now. Great features, a true 50+ mpg fuel economy, plenty comfortable on long drives (I've done just over 3 hours each way with less than an hour stop in the middle) and its a lot larger on the inside than it looks like it should from the outside.
Always good to hear when owners are loving their rides! It's wild how good the fuel economy is in the hybrid. Do you use the smart cruise and lane centering features when you're driving?
@@CarsWithSteve when I'm.on the highway, yes. I took my mom, sister, and high school age nephew 197 miles each way with the cruise set at 75mph and we averaged 51mpg. I was looking at a RAV4 hybrid, but it ended up over my budget and I'm glad I found the Niro. It looks smaller, but it's the same interior dimensions with more leg room front and rear.
@@CarsWithSteve 2017. Super functional, but very much style, leased then bought it. Traded it in for the new one 5k in the black. The 2023 has the same powertrian, but is so much nicer all around.
Big changes between the 2017 vs 2023 but it's great to hear when people love the car enough to upgrade to a newer model. In the black on a trade is the best. Enjoy the new ride!
I swear these seats (that you have in this car) are some of the softest I have ever felt. test drove one yesterday. absolutely love it. Very few cars have ventilated seats in the UK, it's top of my list at the moment, Just gutted you can't get the Harmon Kardon anymore on the Niro here.
@@CarsWithSteve it has ventilated seats in the front and heated front and rear (not middle) in the top spec. Specs mostly seems similar to North American cars but We don't get digital key at all in the UK for any Kia or Hyundai cars though, not even as an option. No idea why.
@@CarsWithSteve Full electric, test drove the base spec and loved it. Also looking at the new Kona EV as well, weirdly enough though it's fully launched in the UK but no dealerships have one to look at and can't even see brochures for it online. :/
@@grl9917 in Canada the only color with the black piece at the back is the green one I think I might want to get it vinyl wrapped so be the only Canadian one the black piece in the back
Hey! It could be the spaghetti test since this is a newer vehicle. Toss different versions against the wall and see what sticks/sells... Part of it does come down to similar product demand, existing build cycles, assembly plant limitations etc. Ford is in the process of electrifying their Oakville assembly plant and building a few new plants throughout the US so there will be more models showing up soon
I will go with the Phev in a second, but too bad in Canada there’s no SX top trim option, only Ex trim with smaller 16” wheels, no power trunk, no premium audio, no sunroof…. Etc; Very disappointing, don’t understand why they don’t bring the SX trim for Phev in Canada…I’m considering the hybrid SX in order to get all the possible options…
Yeah it’s odd that the feature packed options aren’t available across all models in Canada. Reach out to Kia Canada and let them know though. If people don’t tell them, they’ll have no idea it’s wanted
If it's a consolation to you, the manual rear hatch is light and very easy to operate. Just press the release button and lift it maybe 2 inches and the gas struts do the rest. It's very easy to lower manually, also. And the 16" wheels are for better fuel economy, which most buyers of hybrids are looking for versus more appealing optics of larger wheels.
My 40th Niro video and you are the first to show the sunroof operating. THANK YOU!
Haha, you're welcome! Have you picked up a Niro or is it on the list for your next ride?

Fantastic! Hope the new ride treats you well
This is our second Niro and this one is so much better. All of the safety stuff and it iss so nice to drive.
Nice! What year was your last Niro?

Agree with you on the seat 100% I find a lot of Kia seats to be that way! Does the UK Niro have ventilated 1st row seats too?

Specs aren't that far off from one another but it's interesting the small differences between them. Are you thinking gas, HEV or PHEV Niro?

It's wild how good the performance is for base level EVs. Haven't seen the 2024 Kona yet but the redesign is interesting
I pick my 2024 Kia Niro SX Hybrid Mineral Blue 💙 October 1! And it now has heated sests in rear seats for the Canadian 🇨🇦 model on the SX trim.
That's exciting about the new ride and the heated rear seats for the 2nd row now! Is it the first time you've owned a hybrid?
The mineral blue is the best color…really sharp. Love mine! Good luck!

In Germany, the C-pillar Black Design is available with all colors (HEV & PHEV)
In the Niro EV variant, at least one bronze C-pillar is possible.
Does the kia niro has built in camera to record video ?
No.. but I've been saying for years it would be a great feature for all manufacturers to have
How do you open the gas tank?
If you're in the regular gas version, you should just have to push the cover to open it! The hybrid should have a release in the first row
