Great video.. really needed to watch this. I have the awning and tentbox lite on a honda crv so it's an SUV but it's no where near 2m high and I'm 6ft2.. the reason why I haven't brought this yet is the sag towards the car I might get.. is their a way to peg it out so it doesn't sag if the vehicle isn't that high? Thanks
Thanks for the watch and the comment. My dad has a CRV so i know the vehicle. Hmm, possibly it might. I’m only saying that as I assume your tent will sit lower than mine, however i’m happy to measure my awning to see how high it sits off the ground (so you can compare) if you’d like me to? MY room sags a little at the bottom where the side panels meet the tarp flooring, but not much. It does work fine. I tried stretching the pegs like you’ve suggested and while it helps a little, it sort of pulls the middle of each side out of place depending on how much you stretch it out. It’s not a major issue and still works okay though. I think realistically these rooms were designed for higher overland vehicles (Defenders, for example) but I will say it’s more likely to work for your CRV than a normal car as they will definitely be too low 👍🏻
Back door zips down instead of up so you can access the vehicle without letting wind from under the vehicle enter the tent. That way you only unzip as much or as little access as you need. Cheers!
For the most part they're very similar mate. Attach in exactly the same way, similar materials. There's a slight difference with the storage pockets inside and the big difference is that the outer doors fully unzip on the tentbox room allowing you to "wing" the doors to give you more shade. You'd need extra telescopic poles to do this (which Tentbox sell) but that's the main diffierence... and the colour... everything else is near identical. If you look on the Tentbox website at the side awning room and look at the photos you'll see what I mean about the wing doors. tentbox.com/products/side-awning-room Hope that helps
Hi Chris, have you found any storm straps that can be used with the tent box awning room, with or without the ARB room added please? Thinking Fiamma c channel ones might work but wondered if you've tried or found any? Thanks Brian
@@ChocChipTravels Thanks for that. They looked the same but good to have that confirmed as I could only compare mine with a video of the ARRB awning. I am concerned that the room with a floor might not stand up to a couple of German Shepherds
@@ChocChipTravels The problem, Chris, is that sometimes it is shown as 2.5 x 2m and sometimes 2.5 x 2.1m, obviously it's the 2.1m that is a bit of a worry Jeff
@@lauriegallacher2978 No unfortunately not, however i will have a new video coming in the next couple of months where hopefully i’ll be reviewing an annex 👍🏻
@@lauriegallacher2978 Aw thank you. I’ve not been able to do any videos for about 18 months as i’ve been so busy working, but now that’s settled down I plan on filming a lot more content this year. Is it the Tentbox Lite that you have? Have you got any adventures planned?
Thanks Chris , as always informative nay nonsense get to the point help. and thank you for being precise..........
Brilliant review just ordered mine can’t wait to try it with my cargo cheers ps hope it’s ok with my Honda crv
Don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t be. Happy travels and thanks for watching 😊

What's the differences between the one ten box supply and the ARB one Chris? Price features ease of set up?

Hi mate I was just wondering if you can leave the ARB front strip in the C-section in the awning permanently? Thanks
Do you mean the top bit that you essentially zip the front of the room to?
that goes in the aluminium front channel that you zipped off separately
Does ARB room fit frontrunner awning?!?
Do you know if the ARB room without floor will also fit - looks like it does because my tent box awning looks identical to the arb awning
So while I couldn’t say 100%, i know the tentbox and arb awnings are identical, so i would guess yes it would fit. As long as it’s 2.5m x 2m

@@ChocChipTravelswhat is the size of the awning on the side of the vehicle not the pullout bit. Cheers
Can u do a video on the tent box annex please 🙏
Is this for the tentbox lite?
@Chocolate Chip Photography ah yes it is . Does that not fit your cargo?
