  • Welcome to Life In Motion and to my Porsche 718 Cayman GTS!
    In this video, I ask a question you may recognise...'Does the Porsche 718 Cayman sound good' however this time, I've got a new car! I'm asking whether the 718 Cayman GTS sounds good!?
    With a 2.5 litre, 4 cylinder engine, will this car be different to the base car? Or will it frustrate yet again more Cayman fans?
    My original video is below so feel free to take a look and compare:
    • Does the Porsche 718 C...
    Don't forget to comment below to say whether you think this car sounds, YES OR NO!

    Honestly, these comparisons are tedious. I've had 6 cylinder Porsches and those with 4 cylinders. I've loved them all and appreciate the individuality of each one. If it has a Porsche logo on the hood, respect it. Those who derrogate the marque speak volumes about themselves rather than the automobile.

    I upgraded from a 981S with PSE to 718GTS. I do not understand the flat 4 hate, it sounds different, but still good to my ears. Performance is next level, it feels more agile to drive and infotainment is much better #noregrets and I still think the 981 was fantastic too!

      Same with me, 981S to the 718GTS and to me it feels like this is the pinnacle of the platform. I drove the 4.0, still wanted the Flat 4. Torques insane

      I went BMW M2 to 997.1 CS to 718 Gayman S, all with manual gearboxes and upgraded sound systems. The 718 Bose is terrible, poor quality sound and distorts. Do you have the Burmester? I heard it on a new GTS at the dealership a couple of weeks and it’s brilliant- maybe better than HK on M2. Bose on 997 was epic, but I didn’t want to alter the original head unit- so I changed up.

    I couldn't really hear how good this sound from other youtube videos. It sounds good in sport mode. I'd owned an A45 for 4 years and it was fast and nice sounding, but it'd pop only above 4k rpm and crackle on over run above 5k rpm. The car was fun for its speed but was on rails so no fun for its body movements. Now it's sold and this is the exact car I'm looking for! Congrats on the spec, crayon GTS interior + miami is probably the best color combo you could get! Thank you for your video you can really appreciate the exhaust, well done

      Ah good to hear! I must admit the GTS does crackle and pop but you did need to give it the revs! Also thanks, I fell in love with the spec so it was a must. Awesome, I’m glad you enjoyed it! More to come so stay tuned 👌🏻

    I own one. Recently people be like "is this a 4.0 6pot?" People cannot really tell the difference as it really sounds good. They just moan about it because TH-cam videos don't do the justice.
    And I bet you what, all girls prefer this note to 6 pot NA.

    I love mine, and think it sounds great. Its different for sure, but the new 6 cyl has a lot of pollution stuff on it that kills its sound worse. And… lets see an NA engine cayman GTS add 40-50 HP for very little cost… won’t happen. The turbo makes this engine so much more tunable.

      APR ecu tune cost about $1000 here in the US. And bump up the horsepower to over 400. Gonna add that to my 718 GTS after I get it.

    • @gregalanbell
      @gregalanbell ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll make sure to slow down and listen to those 981 sounds when I'm passing them. In actuality, I plan on also purchasing a 2.7 litter 981, in addition to my 718 GTS. That engine sounds great but has low torque, so in modern day California, you can floor it and ring out the motor and because it's slower you can use a whole lot more of it! I love the 718 sound too, different, fast, and way more tunable than a non turbo.

    • @laetussanta
      @laetussanta ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gregalanbell you told everything. The 981 (and 981S) is very usable in the city, so you can "listen" it very well. 718 GTS is great in the track but has long gears. With a 718 GTS 4.0 you will stay always in second on the road

      I really think you have to take the opinion of those who’ve owned both rather than listened to a YT video. There is quite a distinct and unique tone to the boxer 4 different from the 981 boxer 6 and different again from the 991/992 boxer 6 turbo. All sound different and have different characters so say it sounds “utter shite” is a bit crass and perhaps naive
