One of the most underrated tracks in the entire game, series in fact I love the calming atmosphere and the buildup with the amazing flutes and it is easy to miss with xc3’s time cycle. Wish more people talked about this song rather than something like you will know our names - finale.

Kenji Hiramatsu's original comment, put through a translator and edited by me:
    *2-02. Alfeto Valley/Night*
The still-anxious feeling of the early field is carried by the alto flute and cello with the piano as the main instrument... For this song, I wanted to have a calm, quiet, and delicate piano tone, so I asked Osaki Keiko-san to play on the Bösendorfer. This album has many delicate songs (including some intense ones), so the vast amount of percussion was also recorded almost live! In the final days of recording, we had to go over the top every day due to a storm of dubbing, but Nozaki Megumi-san breathed the last of her life into the song! [Hiramatsu]

A couple of explanations I gleaned from messing with the translator: Keiko Osaki is one of the pianists, a Bösendorfer piano often has extra keys, but its tone is also more "calm, quiet, and delicate" as Hiramatsu says.
Megumi Nozaki is one of the percussionists (separate from the drummers), my interpretation of the last two sentences is that trying to record all of the percussion instruments (1:22 onwards) was very time-intensive. The "storm of dubbing" may refer to transferring audio takes between different people or devices, which may explain why he says "it was recorded almost live" (as in there may have not been much mixing or mastering). This may be an incorrect interpretation, but would explain why Hiramatsu makes that last remark about Nozaki's performance.
One thing I did not understand was that Hiramatsu used a word that is like "percussion" but with a "B" in front. It led to a strange translation and was confusing to work out. Upon searching, "BARcussion" is a special line of tiny percussion instruments like bells, but I could not find videos of what this sounds like (and thus edited it to "percussion").
