I assume our time was forever, naturally seemed forever
Those happy days we spent together
Cause you were always beside me
Then suddenly I realized, these happy days won’t ever last
Out of all the souls we create, in fact, how we met was a miracle
I see you peacefully, you’re in your dreams
    Everything seems calm and free
I know, If we want this want to last forever again
Let’s go back to that moment of day
As time just goes by and we all change
And not just us, the world keeps changing
But little did I know that this was coming
Cause you were there always smiling
I wonder how you’ll be in the future
    I wouldn’t know it’s hard to figure
But by accepting this feeling inside, will eventually create a miracle
    I see you smiling there,
So peacefully and cheerfully, I see you talk at me
These happy days must carry on
So once again let’s go back to that day
To where we had hand in hand,
I see you peacefully, you’re in your dreams
    Everything seems calm and free
I know, If we want this want to last forever again
Let’s go back to that moment of day
    I see you smiling there,
So peacefully and cheerfully, talking at me
These happy days must carry on
So once again let’s go back to the start
This goodbye is not the end
I know until we meet again, our feelings will remain the same
Together as one, till we find ourselves again

This... is the truth of our world. Memories melt in the morning light and then, a new day begins.
Roads stretch out before us. So many paths. Which do you choose? That's up to you.
Sometimes, you might run astray. You'll stop. Maybe cry out in frustration. But you know what? That's alright. For the roads... they go on without end.
So look up, face forwards, towards your chosen horizon... and just...
    walk on.

    • @rustkarl
      @rustkarl ปีที่แล้ว +16

Roads go ever ever on, over rock and under tree, by caves where never sun has shone, by streams that never find the sea.
Over snow by winter sown, and through the merry flowers of June, over grass and over stone, and under mountains in the moon.
Roads go ever ever on, under cloud and under star.
Yet feet that wandering have gone, turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen, and horror in the halls of stone.
Look at last on meadows green, and trees and hills they long have known.
The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began, now far ahead the road has gone, and I must follow if I can.
Pursuing it with eager feet, until it joins some larger way where many paths and errands meet, and whither then? I cannot say.
The road goes ever on and on, out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the road has gone, let others follow it who can.
Let them a journey new begin, but I at least with weary feet. Will turn toward the lighted inn, my evening rest and sleep to meet.

All the way since Colony 9, Noah never wanted to fight. But thanks to the Flame Clock's command over his life, his desire to protect his friends, and then later his duty as an Ouroboros to defeat Moebius, he was always made to fight.
Finally freeing the future was the first time he could lay down his weapon. He, the last person left, could finally make the choice he's given to so many others, and so desperately wanted right from the start. The choice not to fight. That's why he cast his sword away. He was making his choice.

Noah made due on actually getting rid of the sword that bound him… the symbol of something that had broken him so much… something he never even wanted to begin with.

I didn't want this game to end which is why I stalled the story's progress as much as possible to explore, kill unique monsters, do side quests, and kill those unique monsters a second time after getting a certain class. This cutscene was genuinely incredible. Every single shot was perfect in my opinion. Between the use of non-spoken context clues to show how close Lanz and Sena grew when they were able to completely non-verbally communicate their fist bump, before Sena begins to cry, the fact that Taion couldn't figure out why he was 4th, and Eunie seeming all too happy about it potentially hinting at him being 4th because Eunie's love for Fortune Clovers meaning that she holds the 4th place spot as her favorite, Riku and Manana's funny yet still heartbreaking hug and sobbing, and of course the long awaited kiss between Noah and Mio, giving closure to both them, and to an extent N and M. The shots of all of the Kevesi, Agnian, and City dwelling heroes smiling, including Ethel and Cammuravi, the scene where the Mio and Noah being forced apart by the splitting of the worlds. The reveals of Melia having kept the Monado from Future Connected (I think, I actually haven't gotten to Future Connected lol) and Nia having both Poppi and the picture of her found family (Giga-Chad Rex included)
The subtle details in the running, like Taion's trip, and when they finally reach the cliffs between them, Taion falling to his knees broke me, seeing these friends (and honestly probably unconfessed lovers) being ripped apart was devastating. The post credit scene confirming that it wasn't just some dream. Noah hearing the offseeing tune that he and his lover would play so often confirming that it wasn't just a dream, it was real, was an incredible way to end it. Sure there were some issues with lose threads, but 1. This final pair of cutscenes are NOT part of that issue, and 2. I'm confident that the story expansion will be able to wrap up those loose threads. Torna was great as a prequel, but I desperately hope what we get is a sequel. No clue how Monolith will go about it, but hey, I'm not getting paid to write stories. I'm just the one who loved this one, the story of Xenoblade 3, more than any other game.

i have similar but slightly different idea.
i always thinking about eternal life since i was like 8, and still think about it sometimes. mainly because i have terrifying impression of dying, which becoming nothingness but void. but at the same time, i always fall into a conclusion something like this, "if i live eternal life, what my life defined to? a hero? a villain? or one huge mediocre human being doesn't do anything less than being alive? shouldn't i ended up as a villain just like quotes from dark knight, "
“You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”?
and this game series is overall, is perfectly describes my personal thoughts about concept of eternal life. even though there is an exceptional character like soul hacker, most of characters who want eternal life in this series ended up as villain. why? because the desire of living longer than you have permitted, is just like as you said, nothing but weak, egoistic mind that most good-hearted people would never thought about in the first place. we all can achieve greatness in rest of our life if we try hard enough, at least thats what i believe.

Im mainly writting this for myself, and I could be entirely wrong about the games message, but I think the ending represents what I think the core message of the game is.
Not everything lasts forever, it sucks when something ends whether it be the life of a loved one, the end of a friendship, or the end of a third entry of a game.
A lot of us want that something to last forever, but if we get stuck on that infinite now we will never change, its ok to want that something to last but sooner or later, we have to move on, and while we could forever be in grief and regret about what we lost, we can also look back at the smiles those things gave us, be inspired by that joy and replicate that something to change the future, move on, and make others feel that joy.
Something along those lines, again I could be very wrong abt the message, I just finished the game and there are many thoughts on my mind right now (mainly post xeno depression) but I at least want to say, thank you xenoblade, no franchise has me crying over fictional characters this much, to think a simple wii game would end up becoming an emotional roller coaster franchise is just weird to me, but again, i love this franchise too much, ty.

It's not just the end to Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It's the end to the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy.
Spanning back from when we first saw Dunban slaying Mechon with the Monado in hand in Sword Valley, to Shulk then taking the Monado in the service of revenge for the ones who killed his loved one. To Shulk then having to defeat the very being he called home. To Rex being just a normal salvager who got recruited to help Torna recover Pyra so they could kill her, only for him to take Pyra in hand to defend her from Torna. To the grand adventure of Xenoblade 2 where we learn it was the origin of the entire trilogy. Klaus being an inhabitant of XC2's world and creating XC1's. To Aionios where the two worlds in those games merge and we meet old faces again and help us defeat a common enemy. To Noah and Mio being such strong soul mates that no matter how many times they are reincarnated, they are destined to fall in love. All ending in Noah throwing away Lucky Seven as he no longer needs to fight. They finally share a long awaited kiss and say their heartfelt goodbyes, to the final ending scene after the credits of Noah connecting with Mio across universes because their love for each other is so strong.
This song isn't just the end of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It's the culmination of the entire Xenoblade Chronicles franchise up to this point. There will be more Xenoblade games for sure. But the Klaus Saga has come to an end. The Monado. The Aegises. The Ouroboros. All gone, their stories told, but never be forgotten. Thank you, Monolith Soft. For three incredible games.

Well, take solace in knowing that they DO meet again after the two worlds merge safely thanks to Origin rebooting. Everyone inside, reborn and returned to normal, no more mobeus, no more endless now, no more purgatory frozen time. At the end, the two worlds separate, only to immediately merge again, returning time and life to normal.
That’s why, in the post credits scene, Noah recognizes and remembers Mio’s off-seeing tune.
You see, the very very very first cutscene IS the moment mobeus froze the two worlds together when they merged. Hince, time stopping. But at the end, time began again, and the two worlds merged perfectly safely.
So, everything that happened on this fake, purgatory Aionios, never actually happened. However, the memories of it all happening, and the dna and souls of everyone who got trapped there were in Origin, which got released.
TLDR: Now that the two worlds ARE perfectly merged without Mobeus’ purgatory, they keep all their memories, are brought back to life, and will most certainly meet again :) as promised

This song and this ending shows that we all have Moebius in us, the feeling to keep things the way they are forever. But, I know that moment will always be with us in our memories and our hearts, so we can move forward without letting go. Change is scary but it can be beautiful if you let it, and it's worth it to change. Besides we know that we will always see each other again soon, no matter what

I'm not sure what the future of the story is with Xenoblade. The series may change and evolve after this game, and that's okay. However, Xenoblade 1, 2 and 3 are a trilogy of games like no other. I simply cannot believe how the RPG I picked up for the Wii in 2013 would become a trilogy that emotionally moved me like no other. Truly one of the greatest trilogies of all time, and I will always be thankful for these 3 games.

I cherish the time I had with my father, but I need to remember the happy moments and move on. And to have the hope of seeing him again one day.
...though listening to this and A Step Away made me bawl tear immediately upon hearing them on their own...

I can’t even begin to describe how this game made me feel. As someone who’s going through a difficult time in their life, a time where I find myself afraid to go forward and change with the world around me, to have to leave my own childhood behind and “grow up”, it was especially hard to see the characters of this game, after growing with each other, and becoming people who *wanted* to change, to people who *wanted* to grow after years and even alternate lifetimes of thinking they were only made to do one thing with their lives, and then even saying goodbye to each other, literally racing towards each other as their respective universes split back apart, it reminded me that I can grow and change with a new mindset while still being me, while still being a person who can go on my own path despite everything I was told I could only do and accomplish before. I’m sorry if that didn’t make any sense. I’m sorry if it was just a bunch of gibberish written a grown man who just had his heart broken by a video game. But I am so shattered by this beautiful ending, that I don’t think I can think straight right now. So long story short, thank you Monolith Soft, Nintendo, the talented Japanese and English voice actors who brought these characters to life effortlessly, and the this amazing fan base for creating one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had!

This is easily the most tragic ending of the whole Trilogy for me. Seeing our 6 Heroes get ripped apart was absolutely gut-wrenching. Especially after the long awaited Kiss between Noah and Mio. It made me Sob and shake like a bitch at 4 am in the morning.
The Ouroboros are my favourite Protagonist-Group out of all 3 Games. Their Chemistry was on point. No matter which of them interacted with one another it was always fun to watch. I don't really think there is a saga like Xenoblade. Every Single Game is so freaking good. It has the best OST I ever heard, the best cutscenes and incredible characters. The only bad thing you can say about xenoblade is that the games may feel rushed in some aspects, even tho they take a few years to make them. They are extremely massive games for a low-mid performance console like Switch and its normal to feel the quality drops in some point of the game since every Single one has +80h gameplay. Xenoblades are such an ambicious games, limited by time and his console.

I mean you can already see the people not wanting this story to end, not wanting Xenoblade 1 and 2’s story to end wanting to stay with the characters forever. you know, ever since I originally played it in early 2018, I considered XC2 to be my favorite game of all time - it helped me through my first break-up and kind of taught me to move on. I even retroactively bought the collectors edition for $250 (i am insane) bought the full OST cd set, and went to 6 different stores to track down the pyra and mythra amiibo on release day. but, the more time that has passed since I completed 3, my thoughts and emotions have finally sunk in and settled, and I really think it's one of the most beautiful games I've played and has surpassed 2 for me. I've never been so excited for a video game before, and while it wasn't what I envisioned, and didn't answer all of my questions, it was an amazing experience that left a big impact on me. I don't know if I'll ever be able to re-play it, as great of a game as it is, and I hope the franchise reaches ever higher peaks going forward. Xenoblade as a whole means a lot to me, as silly as it may sound.
