I want to read a hades graphic novel, blood and darkness i would read a whole series. See Zag go to Olympus, interact with mortals...if they ever could figure out the whole bound to the underworld thing...
A theory I have with this. Zagreus was still born. Due to Hades' occupation as the Leading Lord/God of the Underworld he was told he would never have an Heir. Persephone unable to bear the pain of losing her son felt she had no more connection to the underworld and left to live on the mortal plane away from humans, gods and the underworld. Nyx intervened and brought Zagreus back to life. In the subsequent parts of the game as you learn the true story. Zagreus cant stay on the mortal plane for very long. He only has a few hours at best. Before the River Styx takes him back to the underworld into his home. Zagreus though brought back to life still died. And due to the Fates' prophecies. Zagreus was never suppose to be alive to begin with. And in so letting Nyx bring Zagreus back to life the Fates have forever bound him to the Underworld. I'm hoping in future latches we can. Meet the fates and actually see what is the reason why Zagreus truly cant leave the Underworld
I was having a generally difficult run and wasa thinking "I dont think ill be able to kill hades with what i have." Completely put me off guard that run.
i went into this game basically blind 2 weeks ago, i was expecting a fun roguelite, what i got was a deeply impactful story, amazing music like this, beautiful scenery and animations, amazing characters who i adore talking to every time (dusa is probably my favorite), as well as it being some of the most fun in a game ive had in ages. this song playing during the credits mightve been one of the tipping points in making this game one of, if not my absolute favorites of all time. i have almost 100 hours in jt now and im not stopping till i 100% this game i swear

@@elend1236 well the only example i can think of is of 2 wii games compare twilight princess and skyward sword twilight princess wasn't orchestrated and it shows at times, mostly in wind instruments, like trumpets and that sort of things there's way morr depths in instruments when.. it's real instruments and not made only on a computer
@@elend1236 real instruments have a gritty imperfection to them, the quality of the sound isn't perfect, no matter how good someone is, and that makes it better. real humans have imperfections, little crookedness to their noses or ears, their limbs. artificial robots made to look like humans freak us the fuck out because there isn't anything wrong. kind of the same concept! the overall result is richer, more natural, and our ear likes it better.
I moved out of my moms this year. I’ve been trying my hardest to accept that this is home now ““Home, is not where you live but who cares when you’re gone” I felt that.
Honestly, that wouldn't be too wrong of a title. If Hades is the God of the Underworld, basically the realm of the dead, and Persephone is the Goddess of Spring, the return of life, it'd make sense that their son would be the God of blood, something representing both life and death simultaneously.
@@kaylenvee8150 It also ties into Hades' theme of Family, since blood is what ties them all together, and Zagreus ends up being the catalyst for old feuds being laid to rest and family coming back together
I beat Hades main quest after about 40-50 hours in a 3-4 marathon during a long weekend. I haven't had a game suck me in like that since I played Divinity Original Sin 2 for the first time like four years ago. Hades is an absolute masterpiece and I regret having only just recently picked it up.
I had just gotten the credits today and damn. You fight your way through all of these hellish places, facing against the most ferocious monsters Hell itself can pit against you, and you die so many times just to achieve the outcome Zagreus is looking for. And that outcome was a ride home alongside your mother, passing by the places you fought tooth and nail to get through, going back to the place you were running from. I love this game.
I like how, when they sing about home being people who cares when you’re gone you can hear a few notes of Hades theme. Another evidence that Hades truly cares about Zagreus

the guy who wrote the soundtrack is damn genius, i mean every song from the ost i play i immediately like and it fits the vibe of mythology and stuff but also it's so cool and catchy, no matter its a ballad or fire battle theme
I'm so happy knowing the two people who did the vocals for Bastion's music made a return as Eurydice and Orpheus. Such a great duo who make god-tier music.
Hearing Hades' leitmotif expanded into the full song really gave weight to the ending. All those deaths, hearing that theme over and over, all those victories, and hearing that theme culminate in this true masterpiece made for one memorable boat ride back home.
My boyfriend finished the game yesterday and I was so happy when this started; he was very surprised I already knew the song. Thanks randomly generated TH-cam playlist! Orpheus' voice blows me away every time.

Next time someone tells me that video games are not artistic endeavors I'll just link this song to them. This game is such an excellent piece of storytelling and this song is the massive gem atop a mountain of gold.
I’d you didn’t cry when Zagreus and Persephone rode Charon’s boat through the River Styx while this banger of a song accompanied their return home… then I don’t know what sort of person you are. This is art. And one of the greatest video game stories ever told.
"loves in your life live ever on, home is not where you live, but who cares when you're gone, they'll follow you to the beyond" interpreting it in a more lively way, it reads as "love can last forever, home isn't a place, but rather the people you love in that place, they'll follow you anywhere you go" interpreting it in a more morbid way, it reads as "memories of love live forever after you die, the realm of the living isn't your home, you shouldn't care when you die, because they will join you in the afterlife eventually" the people who made these lyrics deserve a medal
I've been working on this game all summer and I finally beat it last night. The credits gave me chills. This will always be one of my all time favorite games.
This song caught me so off guard in the BEST way! I almost wish that every time you escaped you can watch the credits again. I would get excited every time.

@@Monk_TheG A DLC where Zagreus fights the Fates so he can maybe leave the Underworld would be neat.
a fight with the fates would be fuckin awesome

the fact that this song slaps THIS hard, absolutely unbelievable, incredible

It was the opposite for me. 2k crit Excalibur run and I didn't get to test it :(

@@Time_Ripper1 why can't you have all 3 dominate?
@@RushWheeler actually, good idea
I can't believe how can Darren get better and better
i went into this game basically blind 2 weeks ago, i was expecting a fun roguelite, what i got was a deeply impactful story, amazing music like this, beautiful scenery and animations, amazing characters who i adore talking to every time (dusa is probably my favorite), as well as it being some of the most fun in a game ive had in ages. this song playing during the credits mightve been one of the tipping points in making this game one of, if not my absolute favorites of all time. i have almost 100 hours in jt now and im not stopping till i 100% this game i swear
This song reharmonizes the death leitmotif and I'm absolutely floored, this is the greatest OST to a game I have ever heard
I mean... they used a real orchestra for their OST, not some software but real instruments... I am speechless and grateful as a musician! It makes it a 1000 times better!
Can you share what’s the differences to be picked up? Im uninitiated
@@elend1236
well the only example i can think of is of 2 wii games
compare twilight princess and skyward sword
twilight princess wasn't orchestrated and it shows at times, mostly in wind instruments, like trumpets and that sort of things
there's way morr depths in instruments when.. it's real instruments and not made only on a computer
I genuinely got chills when this song started playing during the boat ride. Just a beautiful ending to what has become my favorite game in the genre.
I moved out of my moms this year. I’ve been trying my hardest to accept that this is home now
““Home, is not where you live but who cares when you’re gone”

"So Achilles thinks I'm the God of Blood?"
The Blood is the Life.
Blood the hunt and resurrection
Honestly, that wouldn't be too wrong of a title. If Hades is the God of the Underworld, basically the realm of the dead, and Persephone is the Goddess of Spring, the return of life, it'd make sense that their son would be the God of blood, something representing both life and death simultaneously.
@@kaylenvee8150 It also ties into Hades' theme of Family, since blood is what ties them all together, and Zagreus ends up being the catalyst for old feuds being laid to rest and family coming back together
"we are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone, by the blood"
Anyone here because a new chapter in the tale of Hades is coming?

I love this game.
the chords are the main theme in a different key. amazing.
Same chord progression in the same key (C). Still very cool.
Ashley Barrett has such an incredible voice. Like holy Hell, it's so good
I got chills when this song starting playing during the credits. Absolutely amazing game.
Reached this ending now. What a game and what a song. Totally perfect for the ending with all of this symphonic metal vibe.
Got that right \o/ 😎
I like how, when they sing about home being people who cares when you’re gone you can hear a few notes of Hades theme. Another evidence that Hades truly cares about Zagreus
I love that I wasn't the only one who noticed! The composer really outdid himself with this one!
I just got to the moment this song hits and I can't believe how beautiful and emotional it was. Thank you SGG for this journey and absolute masterpiece that's called Hades. My only regret is not having played it earlier. Without shadow of a doubt, my GOTY 2020.

the guy who wrote the soundtrack is damn genius, i mean every song from the ost i play i immediately like and it fits the vibe of mythology and stuff but also it's so cool and catchy, no matter its a ballad or fire battle theme
The guy who composed all the OSTs is the same guy who voices Zagreus and Skelly.

The bloodline of the gods
and if you focus on the cello melody, it's the same as On the Coast
The fact that that part also has a leitmotif to the surface theme, which plays when you try to leave your home.

Absolutely love this game and I haven't enjoyed a game for years and this game deserves every bit of praise and awards it has rightfully gotten. I'll even settle for a Cerberus petting simulator.

I was genuinely open mouthed when I beat Hades and this song was playing. This is a genuine fucking masterpiece
before finishing the game this game sounded so melancholic
Next time someone tells me that video games are not artistic endeavors I'll just link this song to them. This game is such an excellent piece of storytelling and this song is the massive gem atop a mountain of gold.
I can’t even explain how good it feels to finally be able to listen to this
The first time you return home without dying, this theme truly feels like triumph over everything you’ve been through.
I’d you didn’t cry when Zagreus and Persephone rode Charon’s boat through the River Styx while this banger of a song accompanied their return home… then I don’t know what sort of person you are.
This is art.
And one of the greatest video game stories ever told.
I get chills everytime listening to this, it even made me cry. Masterpiece.

When 3:02 hits... * aggressive headbanging *
Lawd, these horns!
Saw a playthrough and was not disappointed when hearing the ending credits...instantly looked for this masterpiece
"loves in your life live ever on, home is not where you live, but who cares when you're gone, they'll follow you to the beyond"
interpreting it in a more lively way, it reads as "love can last forever, home isn't a place, but rather the people you love in that place, they'll follow you anywhere you go"
interpreting it in a more morbid way, it reads as "memories of love live forever after you die, the realm of the living isn't your home, you shouldn't care when you die, because they will join you in the afterlife eventually"
the people who made these lyrics deserve a medal
I've been working on this game all summer and I finally beat it last night. The credits gave me chills. This will always be one of my all time favorite games.
This song caught me so off guard in the BEST way! I almost wish that every time you escaped you can watch the credits again. I would get excited every time.
It's awesome to know that we're going to be getting more music like this soon.
After the announcement for Hades 2 earlier today, I couldn't resist coming back here, now feeling nostalgia rather than simply excitement and fulfillment back then for completing the story.
