Mfw M was much scarier to fight than N. And conniving with her little trick she pulls to make N do what he does and realizes the centrifuge and snaps like a twig. And M neutralized X's abilities for the group. That moment was just like "OHHHH MY GOD!!"
still salty this game lost best OST to God of War
I love how this having the same melody as Agnus Colony while using different instruments portrays both the similarities and differences between this place and any other Agnian colony.
I love when this plays when you're fighting an enemy in a tiny pool of water on an island.
Manami Kiyota's original comment, put through a translator and edited by me: 2-03. Nearing the Enemy This is an ambient piece I wrote for a tense scene. The basic part of the song was created using synthesizers, but a chorus was added to create a nice atmosphere. The chorus melody may have a slight Japanese element. As I listened to the recording, I thought about how wonderful it was that the male chorus added weight to the song. Remote recording with Slovakia created a very magical space, and I am always impressed by how interconnected the world is.

Me when when the great sea stirs permanently replaces this banger. (to be fair, that one is also really good)
Kenji Hiramatsu's original comment, put through a translator and edited by me: *2-02. Alfeto Valley/Night* The still-anxious feeling of the early field is carried by the alto flute and cello with the piano as the main instrument... For this song, I wanted to have a calm, quiet, and delicate piano tone, so I asked Osaki Keiko-san to play on the Bösendorfer. This album has many delicate songs (including some intense ones), so the vast amount of percussion was also recorded almost live! In the final days of recording, we had to go over the top every day due to a storm of dubbing, but Nozaki Megumi-san breathed the last of her life into the song!
A couple of explanations I gleaned from messing with the translator: Keiko Osaki is one of the pianists, a Bösendorfer piano often has extra keys, but its tone is also more "calm, quiet, and delicate" as Hiramatsu says. Megumi Nozaki is one of the percussionists (separate from the drummers), my interpretation of the last two sentences is that trying to record all of the percussion instruments (1:22 onwards) was very time-intensive. The "storm of dubbing" may refer to transferring audio takes between different people or devices, which may explain why he says "it was recorded almost live" (as in there may have not been much mixing or mastering). This may be an incorrect interpretation, but would explain why Hiramatsu makes that last remark about Nozaki's performance. One thing I did not understand was that Hiramatsu used a word that is like "percussion" but with a "B" in front. It led to a strange translation and was confusing to work out. Upon searching, "BARcussion" is a special line of tiny percussion instruments like bells, but I could not find videos of what this sounds like (and thus edited it to "percussion").
The Nintendo Music app needs the Xenoblade games asap.
Epic song of Xenoblade3
*Kenji Hiramatsu's liner note:* (I do not know any Japanese. Put through both Google Translate and DeepL and edited to make sense. My translations are still inferior to a Japanese speaker, though I do hope being a musician will help me out with the ideas) _(I'm not trying to replace the person who did this before, Robottsie, but I have access to the composer comments for the rest of the soundtrack and would like to make them easily accessible to people who find these uploads. They share fascinating stories and aspects of the music that may otherwise not be known)_ 2-01. Alfeto Valley The song has a heavier tone to evoke the image of the flow of great destiny that is about to unfold; of the footsteps passing under the overhanging, sharp rock faces in the midst of the protagonists’ worry after the story has begun. They are looking out at the sea of clouds spread out below the mountain, the tin whistle carries their feelings of anxiety about being unable to see what is on the other side at the bottom of the sea of clouds and the loneliness of being separated from their friends… I put the atmosphere of the scenario straight into this song, especially in the beginning.
This area is absolutely stunning, and the music exemplifies the contrast of the trees and ground
This really have been the Xenoblade Chronicles, A.
I can't believe I've never realised just how peak this song is. Really makes me disappointed it only plays twice in-game.
I love how perfectly this song manages to strike a balance between similar and different to the out of battle version.
I love how menacing this one sounds, especially when the vocals kick in. It really reminds me of very carefully sneaking around the enemies to avoid getting detected. (and failing half of the time)
Does this give off similar vibes to Captocorn Peak or is it just me? To be fair, they are both composed by Manami Kiyota.
Out of all the songs in the series that are infamous for interrupting other songs, I probably mind this one the least. The very calming composition (compared to most other songs of this type being intense battle music) combined with the fact that you can actually CHOOSE when this gets to play and that you won't have to hear it as often as other "optional" themes like iris network and chain attack. (Visions of the future and enemies closing in are unfortunately not triggered by player choice)
I can't believe I went from not even remembering what this song sounds like to it becoming one of my favourites from the entire trilogy.
This one was so memorable definitely one of the best area themes I've seen on any game
Honestly, if the devs decided to always play the same music at day night and instead make the two different versions of this song be the high and low Maktha Wildwood themes (this one being for low Maktha), I genuinely wouldn't bat an eye.
Marco Pt attempting 116 Kg military press official theme
Monolith the only studio that can make an unassuming and plain town theme into one of the best field themes in the franchise (alongside its night variation)
I love how they used this for the land of challenge, even though Urayan Tunnels would've given off a more similar vibe to the land of challenge songs in the other games.
This reminds me of Nier Automata
foun this song from a vid , i thought this song was like 10 years old or sum , turns out its new as hell

The sense of wonder and adventure that this song gives is unmatched !!
The sound of touching up and re-wroking your entire team after losing a boss fight.
While both versions are amazing in their own right, this one has a sense of sadness to it, especially in the second phase and ending... the flute just brings tears to my eyes man 😭
Break! Topple! DAYEEZ!
I feel the reason why I hold XC3's music in the highest possible regard is how it seamlessly blends storytelling into its compositions, especially into the cutscene music. This is no exception either, as Homecoming's composition reflects despair and anxiety over something that was once thought to have been triumphant, and the climax and crescendo of the music perfectly matches the explosion of those feelings that leaves nothing but despair and anguish behind. Very few games actually come this close with the level of detail put into the music to tell a story without words... you can simply feel how the story goes through this song alone. And XC3 nails this consistently throughout the soundtrack, creating the absolute greatest Video Game OST of all time

…no words…
I forgot this actually first plays when Mechafriend gets crushed and upon playing it after knowing the more famous context of this song (being the opening to chapter 6) I was laughing so hard that that's when it first plays.
As much as this song is cool... It gives me PTSD because the chord progression reminds me of that one song from the School Days anime... IYKYK
For most overworld music in the series, I feel like both the day and night versions both work very well individually, but this is one of those few tracks where both the day and night theme work together to tell a musical story. Absolutely beautiful. And boomers say video game music isn't real music.
And people say this game has forgettable overworld music. SMH.
I've never heard anyone say that before honestly

That transition from Crys to Noah may be one of the best moments in the entire series. The way the music swells in tandem with Noah growing up, coming into his own as his own leitmotif becomes more prominent in the music never ceases to give me chills, and is especially emotional upon repeat playthrough knowing his past with Crys.
