ANDY! First off, hope you've been well but also glad to hear you can still get SOME value from these videos even if your platform of choice is a bit different. You're most welcome, dude :D
I bought a OEM dock as soon as possible too. Bricked after 6 months 😢 Interestingly, I bought the cheapest one on Amazon to replace it, and it’s been working perfectly ever since!
Oh man, that's terrible! Did Valve support help you out at all with it or did you just jump to the 3rd party dock? Also if you can tell me which one you went with on Amazon maybe that can be one of the first 3rd party docks I test here on the channel :)
I bought the oem dock worked great right up to almost a year where the usb c cable when out on me outta nowhere i got the anker docking station the 13 in 1 kinda expensive but it’s worth it and i use the old steam stock as a stand 😂
Lemorele sells a HDMI to USB C adapter that allows you to use the Viture ones with a dock. ive been using that to get controller support and mouse and keyboard and potentially more through the docks usb and built in NVME.
Oh snap, congrats! I saw that and was WAY tempted but I'm gonna hold off for now. But who knows? Maybe I'll brick my Steam Deck when I try to replace the analog stick and I'll HAVE to order an OLED- What a tragedy that would be ;)
Funny enough, beyond my dock I mainly use my drawing tablet on my Steam Deck. I'm VERY SLOWLY working on a GBC game and having it all done on my Steam Deck has been super nice, but also I was using it for certain 3DS games like Pokémon Art Academy which is a little janky, but it works at least. Installing the drivers is still the biggest nightmare to figure out and you do have to find a drawing tablet that actually works on Linux, but it works pretty good! The only other accessory I want to get for my Steam Deck beyond the OLED glasses you showed off at the beginning is this phone clamp you can get for your steam deck to use as a second screen. I forgot the name of the channel but they showed off dual screen use of the Steam Deck for stuff like the 3DS or Wii U which I think is a super cool idea to try out.
Dude that's killer! Let me know where I can check it out whenever you're ready to share it in a wider capacity and I'll try to showcase it in an emulation video or something :D I mean IF you're planning to share it in a wider capacity and all :p Oh that sounds super helpful! If you find it again I'd love to check it out in a new accessory video next year :)
@@YourPlayer2 It may take some time before I ever get it finished, but once done I'll make sure to send you a message about it! Oh also the person behind the dual screen Steam Deck is GameXData. They have a few videos about it but its still a cool idea personally.
The one used currently is Jsaux cover. Boy does it really deliver. Travel on motorcycle alot. Fall with my bike on a rainy day. The front cover was scratch especially on the joystick. Ran like nothing happen playing while waiting for tow. No damage on the SD.
Hey Josh, I hope you're having a great week so far. :) I don't own a Steam Deck because they aren't selling them here in my Country but I love your videos, I can't wait for the Playstation Showcase tomorrow to see which Games are going to be announced. Meanwhile today I got an e-mail telling me that my copy of Silent Hill 2 is on the way, I can finally delete the Game from my external hard drive and play it on my PS5.
@@YourPlayer2 Sometimes when I order Video Games they arrive with the case broken and I really hate when that happens, luckily that doesn't happen with all of them but I have a few broken cases. :/
Oh, they're from Dbrand! Although I think there's a TON of 3rd party ones you can get on Amazon as well I just haven't had much occasion to purchase/test them yet :)
Cool vidéo, just got the oled 512 version (after owning a légion go) I really found the kill switch case from Dbrand to be super expensive when you can get the jsaux one for much cheaper
Glad you enjoyed it and enjoy the new OLED! And yeah, Dbrand is DEFINITELY pricey but I haven't had occasion to check out any other cases just yet. Probably something I should look into in 2025!
Yeah it's one of those things where I don't necessarily need them 24/7, but in those instances where I'm a passenger or just really want to get absorbed in a game (Silent Hill 2 enhanced edition was particularly fun) they're a solid nice-to-have!
I don't really have much in the way of accessories, only a generic power bank which I only use very occasionally because the oled model is so good at battery life already... I did recently almost order the gaming pillow from mechanism after having seen it several times on retro game corps... Had it in my cart along with some accessories so I could also use it with my tablet, but then came shipping which almost doubled the price pushing it to like €140 or so which I couldn't convince myself to pay. The burden of living in Europe sometimes 😅 I am still curious about it, being able to lay down and plop that thing on yourself so the steam deck kind of floats in the right place above you. Maybe I'll try to find some people to order along and split the shipping costs at some point 😋
Yeah man, like I don't do TONS of accessories videos because the basics have held up really well for me so far outside of more niche stuff like the glasses or a secondary monitor. Ooh, first I've heard of a gaming pillow but I might have to look into that! The closest I got to that sort of ergonomic comfort for portable play was probably when I got a goose neck tablet holder for my bed when the Switch came out so I could play BOTW while staring straight up in bed 😂 But yeah, that does sound kind of pricy after shipping!
I don’t own a deck, but your videos still help me with interesting stuff for my gpd win4. Thank you sir!

Oh neat! I'll see if I can find them sometime and maybe I can try out the glasses while Docked for a change :)
Well, this one is good timing for me, as I took advantage of Steams’ refurbished sale that went up today for the OLED model !

nice to hear.... lucky me i bought that case a week ago
WOW, first off I'm glad (hoping?) you were ok from a spill like that but beyond that what a testament to its durability!
You don't have a link to that one by chance do you? If so I'd love to check it out in a future video!

@ yeah . And even though the Lenovo légion go is technically more powerful the steam deck oled is a breath of fresh air in terms of user experience .
