Just bought myself a 2005 STI and Iâm tackling some similar things as I dig into my car more and more. Love the channel itâs comforting to know Iâm not alone.
Congrats on the STI! I appreciate those words and thanks for watching. The list is growing and we have to tackle one thing at a time. Good luck and enjoy the process!
@@RoadPatinaI honestly considered putting some of my content and findings on TH-cam as well. But your channel is the right amount of detailâĶway better than what I would have done.
And yes Iâm a HUGE Enkei RCT4 fanâĶI had bought a brand new old stock set years ago. Sold them sadly.
@@TheTarmacDaddy much appreciated!
Nice one bro ð ðŠ ðĪ ðŊ
RTC4 are also my all time favorite wheel. Just ever been lucky to own a set.
Just because of those wheels you got a follow.
Great taste my friend!
Rc-t4 was one of my fave wheels also. Gold
Great minds!
I have a po302 I'm troubleshooting all the steps. Did plug and coil swap. Now need to do injector swap then compression and leakdown test
Step by step!
had the same start up noise on mine ended up being my starter. It would stick and make that noise.
Really? Much better scenario than oil starvation I thought it could be!
Blinking dccd light. Maybe something to do with oil leaking from transmission? Is dccd working okay? Great stuff, love to watch your videos as they are very easy to understand and fun to watch.
Thank you! Iâll have to check it out. DCCD is not functional currently.
Decent headway considering your initial quote ðŽ
That sound on start could be starter related. Easy to pull out and bench test it at least
Sounded like it had no oil for a sec! That scared me considering I am trying to stay low budget. We know how that will end!

Most of that is just labor costs, if you just count the parts then itâs not anywhere near as expensive if you do the labor yourself. I own a 06 STi and i have gradually done almost all of those, except for my steering rack. Itâs an old car by now so most of those problems you would find in almost any old car, itâs all basically leaks. As far as those "standard featuresâ you are a lucky manâĶcause the "headgasket featureâ is a naturally aspirated EJ25 feature, turbo EJâs do not have that problem because they come with Multilayered Steel gaskets from factory as opposed to the N/A models which use defective composite paper thin gasket and always end up leaking. Now, i have heard of some people having misfire problems but Iâve never had those so i wouldnât know. Maintenance and fixing problems quickly is the key.
I agree! Any car this old will have leaks and need work. Many people think they last forever without proper care. The labor rate in my area is $150-$200 per hour! Good thing my labor ainât worth much.
Same in Ct
Gotta replace those headllights
@@scott-wright done!
