Camera angle = Awesome! If only you kept all the windows shut for the entire video. We'd be able to hear your car so much better without the wind noise & buffeting. As I'm sure you know by now, on video versus in person, you can always hear a cars exhaust so much better with all of the windows and sunroof completely closed. Nice STI man! 👍
Tbh once you learn the gear ratios down shifting is super easy in these cars. I've only had mine for a year. And I'm not even super good at manual (I'm not terrible by any means) but yeah lol
loved the video! I wonder if a back window down a bit could help a bit with getting exhaust sound and no wind noise? if the mic on your camera is on the front may make a bit of a difference?
i’m trying to start filming pov drives in my sti i got a gopro hero 9 but im not sure how to get the footage onto my pc to edit and upload, are you using a go pro?
Hey bro I love the vids🙏🏼 I recently got a 2018 sti and its my first manual car, still trying to get used to it. Any tips on how to take off a little quicker in 1st?
Sick bro, Great choice. Tbh man it's just getting used to the bite point of the car. I've driven many manual cars and the STI's clutch is pretty weird compared to everything else. Practice finding the biting point and getting there quicker while also adding gas. It takes time but you'll master it eventually.
I just recently got a GoPro Hero 9 with a mic cover that came with the Media Mod. I’ve used the audio Jack for a mic that I place next to the exhaust pipe. Gotten some reviews on that. But it depends on what you’re going for. If you’re capturing the audio from inside, try the Media Mod Mic Cover if you decide to get a Go Pro Hero. Car sounds amazing btw!! Hope this helps. Much success bro🙌
Greatly appreciate the insight, I started this TH-cam thing with not much seriousness behind it so I am just using my iPhone (not the best quality) at the moment. But I have recently been thinking about upgrading to an actual setup.
how did you get the jdm bezels to fit flush? I have mine and one fell off on the freeway and scrapped it all up. In another video, it said that they include screws to secure it but the box didn't come with it. Where did you buy them from? I bought mine from Subie Bros.
If you're talking about the splashguards which I think you are. I have mine mounted by a pop clip and adhesive tape. I also have it screwed in at the same spot as my mudflaps. Pretty sure mine are OLM and bought from SubiSpeed.
I have a slew of cosmetic mods inside in and out. However, all stock drivetrain wise besides coilovers with supporting suspension mods and a tomei catback. Those are the mods I'm limited to because of warranty. Once warranty is up im going FBO E85!!
Was it a pain in the ass to get the paneling off to run the power cable for the dash cam? I have mine going from the windshield and all the extra cable bundled up below, but I wanna run it up somewhere and into the cig lighter. Just don't have the balls to start popping stuff off lol
I didn't initially route it myself, I had a shop do it. However, I have pulled it apart before to work on something else and it is super easy to tuck. Only need to pull a few panels and most of the time you can just peel it back a little and slip the wire in. I'd definitely recommend hiding the wires and even potentially hard wiring it into the interior fuse box (that's what I did). seamless and works great.
do you find 2nd gear to be harder to shift into on yours? Im a new manual driver and can shift fine on other gears bur 1st to 2nd in my wrx is noticeably rougher
@loltfsam3560 do you also have a notchy/crunchy feeling when shifting into 2nd? I bought mine with only 6k miles so I don't think it's synchros and I've heard it's a somewhat common thing
it is a oem subaru footwell light kit. My car didn't come equipped with this OEM option so I bought the part and did it myself. Super easy since it's OEM and there's TH-cam videos out there that show how to wire it.
The sound on the start that I think you're hearing is me making sure the cars in neutral by moving the gear shifter. Car is driving normal as of now lol. What part did it sound like no oil pressure?
Nothing like driving an Sti! All these guys and this new wrx is laughable. Wow you can make more power cheaply! You can do the same in an Sti it just cost more. But your wrx will never be an Sti. Everytime I watch a video of someone driving their STI, I wanna go drive mine 😂😂
Yes man, I'm the same way lol. Gotta drive it!
It’s addicting right? 😂
Imma about to get mine in sha Allah😂❤ALLAHUMA barik
Makes me want to go and buy one. Good price used in the UK now, probably the road tax and fuel costs and twice yearly service but I still want one.
Same lol. I look for a reason to drive it haha
sounds amazing bro, the sti has always been my dream car, i pray i get one one day 🤙

I really like the rear spats and diffuser you have, would you mind telling me where I can find a pair? Car looks great man
The rear spats and diffuser are both CS style. You can find them made by many brands. Ik my spats are made by OLM. not sure on my diffuser tho.

Blip the gas a bit brotha to at least 1500 rpms as you disengage the clutch. The higher the rpms the more you'll launch/wheel spin as well. Good luck!

So clean brother 🙏🏻🔥i’ve been looking for decent rain guards like that what brand are they?
Im pretty sure they are the Subaru OEM part
Can you make your future videos or POV setup 4k go pro ? 1080 is too grainy man but sick vid nonetheless...
I had 4k set on my camera set up for this video but for some reason it only went to 1080

Yeah the STI don’t got the rev hang that the WRX has
i love the tomei but if u gnna mod ur car and do headers etc tomei gets way to loud its great on stock car
100% agree!
Hi what device did you use to hang your camera like that 1:29?
I shoved it between the headrest and the seat

Weird how you can see your illuminated footwells in broad day light. I got a VB WRX and had them installed. Can only see them at night.
They turn on when my headlights turn on. The sun was setting and was actually darker than the video shows it to be. They aren't on all the time.

You have to buy one used. They don’t make them anymore.
Gotta up shift on those stis early they got no top end power
what do you mean?
On start up, was that a small knock?
had another person say that. Fortunately if you look close the noise is just from me wiggling the shifter in neutral. No knocking!
