Wouldn't these 'cups' act like a very small box and kill any bass response from your speakers because they can't breathe properly? I fully agree with the deadening of the door metal, this needs to be done but I'm not convinced by the pod/cup/whatever you want to call it that the speaker sits in.
I'm in the process of opening the metal up behind my speakers so they have some breathing space, this seems like the complete opposite to me and very counter intuitive.

You're right. I have the exact same cheapo Pioneer 6.5s being used in this demo and when I put them in those foam baffles I lost so much sound, it was god awful. So I cut a huge hole out of the bottom. Like, half the baffle cut off and away. What I mainly wanted them for was to protect against water and dust, then to absorb vibration against the door panel. So they work, sorta, depending on how you use them.

If I remember right the company says to cut a hole in the bottom of the baffles to improve sound

I agree. Technically, a door panel can act like an enclosure of a speaker.

using thin insulation against the metal works really good when covered over with vinyl wrap. keeps the insulation from getting wet and doesn't add much weight.

Would i get better sound with those speaker baffles or foam fast rings?

Trill Will Baffles, they’re great for increasing mid bass and to lessen vibrations between the speaker and sheet metal of the panel. Foam rings help the sound to be pushed into the cabin of the car. Both can be applied, but personally I’d go with baffles.

All the reviews say that your product is killing the bass of the door speaker how can we modify your product to get the bass back?

do you put a whole in it to let the air out the speaker baffle

Mr. Sinnett, no you do not. These aren't designed to use with large air movers like subwoofers so there is no need for a hole to move air.
