    I have these and I like them. My speakers were not true to size, 6.5 Orion components stretched these out a bit. With some trimming and customization these worked for my install. Would definitely buy again.

    I had a set of those sealed baffles I believe from xtc and yeah they made my door speakers sound awful it basically created a sealed back midrange driver . I remedied that by cutting out the back so it still protected the speaker from the elements but allowed the speaker to use the door as it’s intended enclosure, I like these baffles from nvx and will probably be getting a set when I redo my system in the not so distant future.

    Question that will probably be ignored just like every other question or comment I have made to this channel, but lets try anyway!! 6x9's in the back window of my car just like every other sedan out there. My problem is that I keep going through them like crazy even though they are setup correctly with proper crossover points and everything. Issue is that even with them not even plugged in they get blown from the subs and the air pressure they make. They are getting pushed up and all out of wack from the backside. I installed the "baffles" that seal them off completely from the back and now they sound horrible!! I have ports from the trunk into the cabbin area of the car already, my worry is that if I do more ports it may ruin the sound quality it has now? Ports I mean for the subs not the 6x9's if that was not clear. Other option would be to make a box that goes under the rear deck area and sealing off the 6x9's but im a much nicer box if you will besides those foam things I have in there now. The foam baffles stopped the 6x9's from gettin beat to death but like I said it sounds like total trash with them in there. Any input would be awesome and much appreciated by anyone! Maybe sombody else has had this issue but it doesnt seem to be too common or maybe some dont relise its happnin to their speakers yet? Thanks in advance to anyone that made it this far!! LoL

    • @duanebledsoe7566
      @duanebledsoe7566 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The answer is to build a larger enclosure for the 6x9’s. That’s the only way to separate them from the sub air volume and still keep them sounding good.
      The easier answer though is just to count rear speakers as rear fill. Just something to produce sound so it’s not all from the front. You have subs so don’t worry about bass loss. I’d isolate the 6x9’s, or maybe even change them out to 6.5’s, and high pass them for mids and highs only. The baffles won’t affect this like they do bass. Use the baffles to protect them, use them as mid/high rear fill, and let your subs and front speakers fill in for bass and midbass.

    I think I'd punch something like an inch sized hole in the bottom of the baffle near the front of the speaker to help any water drain off just in case some rain were to get splashed inside the baffle from the rear.

  • @colt5189
    @colt5189 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I believe the Install Bay version you don't have to cut the rear. They have you fold it over. Which one is better quality, NVX or Install Bay?

    What if a speaker has a factory baffle or speaker adapter. These should go between the main connection of the baffle to the door, and not where the speaker goes into the adapter? Mine only has 3 screws in that main location.

    • @edwardsoares3838

      Put the foam over the deadener as the foam is not deadener but sound wave disruption

    I have a focal kx3 active set in my car with the 6.5 inch kx3 midbass speaker in the stock location. Would custom/install adding a second smaller focal midwoofer like the focal es130 k2 5.25 inch to the setup increase the midbass?. I would be powering the second midwoofer off of a different amp channel.

    • @bigboi6201
      @bigboi6201 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try getting a pre amp audio control device so you can tune your crossovers better. Just throwing more speakers and power may not give you what your looking for unless you can control those frequencies more accurately. I think once you do that adding another speaker receiving the desired frequency range will satisfy your audiophile's ear.

    I like how people think a 1" foam pad behind the speaker is going to absorb the bass in any way. You would need like 4" of some high density material.

    • @calicantdrive
      @calicantdrive ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not the bass we're worried about with a door speaker, it's the mids and highs, which the foam will affect to at least some degree. Mid and high reverb is what sounds muddy on the scale of a door cavity, which is too small of an area for bass frequencies to really bounce around much in the first place.

    These collect more water in the speakers than without. Especially if the car is parked sideways on an incline. Water will drip down into the back opening of the baffles and run down to the speakers. Without anywhere to go the speakers will start to soak up water and eventually leak through the speaker into the door lining. If you absolutely must use these, then cut a drainage hole in the bottom.

    • @marsruben
      @marsruben 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have no idea , but I've had 2 cars with these in it for over 6 years, never had any issues parking sideways. But yet again it probably depends if your car manufacturer makes shitty drainage in windows, if these get water ,then so will your original speakers.

    I'm not quite understanding exactly the fitment of this particular item as compared to a spacer or fast rings. Can you comment? Would you use both or one or the other?

    • @bigboi6201
      @bigboi6201 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This helps direct the sound waves and beef up the beaming effect of your speaker. Allso adds some minimal protection from dripping moisture. It is not a spacer. I like them and would recommend.

  • @steves5355
    @steves5355 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I used the enclosed ones. Would love these with a complete enclosed model. I also put sound deadener inside and out of the oldschool foam baffles does great..not sure i want a midbass driver beating the bare metal back side of my door skin..that"ll sound great..lil eggcrate and all. We going to start deadening the whole inisde of the door between inner and outer skin...lol. the rubber part is a dope idea. Plus the flare..give me a removable cap that goes on the back with an eggcrate insert, and im sold, til then..ill stick w conventional, mdf rings and foam extenders.

    slick marketing speak. Presentation with carefully described situations that promote your business, and knock the others. That's shady. I'm sure others will SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOUR HYPE, AND CALL THIS TECHNIQUE BS. Now, I unsubscribed. Good job!!

    • @papasavage8247
      @papasavage8247 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well thats their job.. but these things are actually bad ass and he's not actually wrong.. having a bare door causes whats called "dead wave" and can definitely reduce your sound quality because you're distorting your speakers trying to get it to the level you want to hear, also it helps against rattles and vibrations. And as for the sealed enclosure if its not tuned specifically for your speaker it will decrease its sound quality more than having a bare door will. You can cancel out the bass and cause overheating and overly tight response. It can kill your speakers because the tighter the box the more power you need to run them efficiently. I am currently using the NVX baffles before even watching this video and ive never seen something nice as them and its a lot easier and cheaper than sound deadening EVERY inch of your car. They work well if you're looking for easy fast sound quality on a budget. But yes salesmen are supposed to sell you on a product but I'm a consumer, ive been doing stereo systems for a while though and they have really simplified SQ installs. And its very clean looking as well
