Peter, As it turns out, the early 2002 Corollas that were actually manufactured in 2001, do not have pollen filters. This was a mid-year production cut in that only applied to the last 100,000 or so sold in the USA.
2000 Toyota Corolla Linja Terra 1.6 was exactly the same, really had to pull the carpet back to have enough room to take it out, filter was really dirty like it had never been changed, putting in the new one was pretty easy once you bend it into three segments, I had no idea where the thing was until I found your video, thanks so much! I was looking behind the glovebox.
For those wondering about the US and Canada model 1998 to 2002 Corolla they are not equipped with a cabin air filter, overseas models are but if it was sold in North America you do not have a cabin air filter
Hello friend. I have 1998 corolla e11. It does not have ac. Now i buy ac and put it in. Old evap box did have filter but no connection to ac. New one has connection to ac but no filter. Is it possible to cut open so i can get both?
I pulled the glove box out from my 2002CE. No area for a cabin filter. Where could it actually be? Was this a mid model feature? I would have to check the date of production because my car was made in Canada
This component does not exist on my 2002 LE either. Damper foam pad is there but the Denso fan is the only thing on the right side of the car underneath the dash. Cold air box is located to the left of the fan unit and further left of that is the floor distribution louvers. I'm thinking that on some LE models they chose not to install a cabin pollen filter ????
2001 Toyota Corolla 1.6i GLE, I’m struggling to locate the cabin air filter. I spent hours and hours looking and it’s not there. I’m starting to think the 2001 model doesn’t have cabin air filter
My 2000 doesn't show what you have. Some say it doesn't have one and others say yes it does. Nothing in the owners manual though. Mine doesn't even have that side glove box strut.
Great video I guess. Funny as can be! Mr. Finn sounded exactly like Inspector Jacques Clouseau of Pink Panther fame.. Keep up the good work and look out for the "broom"!
My story is the same as yours. 2001 Toyota Corolla. Some brown spongy material blowing out of my Air Conditioner. And I can’t locate the cabin air filter
The replaceable filter through the glove box started in 2003, apparently 8th generation (through 02) didn't have this. what model year was the car in this video?
This video helped me to start. Was 10 minutes work. I think you placed the filter the wrong way for the airflow. should be the other way round. Only issue I have with this car I can't find the ODB connection.
Can you tell me which way it should read "air flow"? When I was installing it, it was on the bottom LEFT side. Is it correct? Steering wheel is on the left of the car. Filter is on the right front passenger side.
A lot of people showing these videos forget to State the model and year of the vehicle please State the model and year of the vehicle it will be very helpful if you do that thank you
Mr. Finn, I have 2002 Toyota Corolla and just can't find the cabin filter. Is it possible that it doesn't have one? All I see is a funky looking foam which looks disgusting, can't see a way of getting that out. SO FRUSTRATING!!!
Hi, you did it wrong. You turn old filter the wrong way and that was the reason you broke it. And once again you put new filter in wrong direction. This video is a manual how NOT to do this in a left hand drive.
Thanks for the video, I have just changed my Cabin Filter but unfortunately I have broke the section of the pull :( So I advise people to pull gently and also wear gloves for better grip.
the video is so poor, his accent so string and the difficulty of getting the filter out makes this simple repair look like too much work. I say ... skip this one...

RealistReviewer Thank You for comment.
I love that count dracula has his own youtube channel. It makes it so much more fun working on the car
🤣
Straight to the point and no time wasted, Great video man.
Ok and Thanks 👍
Hi, thanks for comment. My hands are durable, but it is good to use gloves.

Were you able to solve it by any chance ?
This is perhaps the most hilarious Peter Finn video!! Helpful but really really funny!
Noted 👍
Does anyone have the part number for this filter? Struggling to find replacement

2000 Corolla LE, made at the NUMI plant in the USA, and no cabin filter on this one

Hi and Thanks for info. Some Corolla's don''t have this pollen filter.
Does 2001 Corolla 1.6i GLE have the cabin air filter? I can’t seem to locate it

I have read your post, good comment 👍
There is a much easier way to change the cabin filter. You go through the glove box. You can find demonstrations in other TH-cam videos.
Source?
The 2000-2002 model is this video, while 2003-2007 is the other model you mention.
No, the 2000 filter doesn’t have struts on the side of the glove box, so you can’t remove it for access. Trust me, I’ve looked all over.
Hi, please look my another cabin filter video. I send mail link to You also.
I am having the same issue with my 2002 Corolla. I can not find the filter. Can you help me out?
You not alone. Mine is 2001 and I can’t locate the cabin air filter
I don't think 2000 Corolla has a cabin filter? Can you confirm if this is accurate?
I confırm it ıs accurate already I have 2000 corolla.... =)
What about a 2001 Chevy Prizm Cabin Filter? It keeps bringing me to your video for a Toyota Corolla cabin filter.
Same way
thank you for the feed back Mr.Finn.
Thank You. :-)
I have a 2001 corolla s. there is no replaceable cabin filter, just some grey foam that disintegrates when touched.
Thanks for Your comment- :-)
My story is the same as yours. 2001 Toyota Corolla. Some brown spongy material blowing out of my Air Conditioner. And I can’t locate the cabin air filter
The 2000 corolla does not have a Cabin Air filter for a 1.8 engine?
Maybe
The replaceable filter through the glove box started in 2003, apparently 8th generation (through 02) didn't have this. what model year was the car in this video?
Thanks for comment. 😀👍
hi Peter,
i accidentally pushed the filter deep inside and i cannot get it out. is there a way to disassemble the box that keeps the filter?
Yes, you can remove the box
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor thanks for your reply. Can you tell me which bolt/screw i need to remove?
2001 corolla does not have a cabin
My 2005 corolla has the polen filter that is located behing the glove box.
Thank you for the message. I'm trying to help you. 👍😀
Can you provide me with the model number of that air filter element?

You are welcome.

Does the 94 Corolla have this filter?
Must everything have filter? Mine doesn't have cabin so I just walk away
Good comment 😀👍
Hi man, what's the part number? Thanks!
Will this work for a 2002 Toyota Corolla(8th generation)?
Yes
Thanks for the video, we need to see the same with 1997 Corolla.
Where did you guys find new air cabin filter? I can't find it even on Ebay.
+Steven Lin Hi, please visit here and you have a filter: th-cam.com/video/MdZUPHaswno/w-d-xo.html
I’m confused. I tried to find it and couldn’t. Also, took to a mechanic and he said there is no part available for it so that there is no filter.
Ok, maybe you have special stripped model without filter
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor Weird. Just a standard 2000 Toyota Corolla. Ah, well.
Awesome, Thanks for posting this bro!
Thank You, good to hear.
I have a 2001 LE model is that from passenger side or driver side:
jorge arroyo Passanger side.
Thank You Peter!
does it matter what direction the filter is fitted
Yes. Is works better, if arrow is up
A lot of people showing these videos forget to State the model and year of the vehicle please State the model and year of the vehicle it will be very helpful if you do that thank you
Is it the same maybe on my Toyota Corolla 1998 hatchback?
Yes

Thank You for comment. :-) BR Peter

sorry.... between his strong accent and broken English and no reference to go by under the dash area... I gave up.
HI, I will do new video.
