  • Well the blower motor now makes zero noise, so yet another FREE redneck fix!
Do not be afraid to tear into your cars guys, as long as you read the manual and go about repairs slowly and with intelligence you can save a lot of cash! This repair only cost me a tiny amount of silicone spray which l decided to use on the blower motor shaft, to both clean and lubricate lt. 4 weeks later and she still makes zero noise! SPLENDID!!! l love keeping my cars out of mechanics hands!!!

Exactly what mine did, I ended up replacing the entire unit shortly after this video! You can definitely do this yourself, it is very very easy! best bet is to buy new from ebay, but make sure you buy the entire assembly, believe I paid 41 bucks inc. delivery. It is still working perfectly months later! I am more then willing to help you with step by step instructions, will even shoot you a video on how to do this. I would also like to give you the ebay part number/company I dealt with.

That part you zip tied is for the air circulation. There is a cable that attaches to the level for inside air circulation / outside air circulation. It's supposed to open and shut with the lever.

A little fyi found on an A1 parts co. video, When you get the blower out spin the basket, if it makes noise the bearing is bad. He then spun the new to show it's quite.

The Power Windows are also hard but still doable, I did replace my Drivers Side Power Motor. You are one hell of a woman proven by your continued home repair successes.

I was in a rush when I first put it back together, but I could easily see the problem when I looked at it later. There was a hole that the part of the latch should have been threaded through. it was an easy fix, I readjusted it without having to take everything all the way apart again. I wish every repair was so quick and easy and cheap. I also replaced all my inside door handles...unfortunately I lost 3 screws and the replacements did not come with the specially made screws.

Okay, got a beautiful new part for $40 and installed it with no problem...getting the trim off so I could get the glovebox off was the hardest part. I almost had to stand on my head to get the motor out, but that was okay. But now my glovebox won't latch!

The last 3 videos I have watched has not shown all the steps for taking out the glove box to get to the motor

My corolla blower has made an awful racket for months if not longer. Yesterday I noticed it is not working at all. I hope I can tackle this job myself.

I have the same issue on my 99 corolla Left hand drive too( ottawa)
it makes a squeeky high pitched whine from time to time and does not work on settings 1 & 2 -
I am thinking that i will take a stab at replacing the resistor pack and see if the same housing or piece is loose as was the case in your corrolla Ebloke71
( i have the heynes manual and now your helpful video)

I have 3 exterior door handles bust out of 4, but ALL workl from the outside! As a man anyway wi no nails to break off! I have big hands, my drivers door card is already off but it looks a small hands job! I already got the new handle, just afraid of the job..you r the kick up the ass I need! I am tired of it too, will try to video how to replace, just give me 2 weeks max! Be aware these door cards are fibreglass lined under the cloth and they just bust out once removed! I will do this repair!!~

How long did your repair last? Did you end up needing a new blower motor?

My 98 corolla is missing that cover that you put a strap on, on top of the motor fan so air is escaping through. Where can i find that part and how its called?

Why didn't you change the cabin filter why u had it apart !!

Oh, I got an ebay one for 40 with lifetime warranty. I am most worried about getting the glove compartment taken out and putting it back in. Actually installing the blower fan looks pretty easy. Do you know of a video showing how to get the car taken together and put back?

My driver's side door handle on the outside doesn't work. It feels like it isn't connected to anything when I pull up on it. After my success with my fan blower replacement, I wonder if I should take my door apart and see what's up. It is a bit of a pain to have to reach across from the passenger's side to open the driver's side door from the inside. Also, 2 electric windows don't work well at all. They can go down, but getting them up is a pain!

no, but its 2 x10mm bolts to remove the lower lick panel under glovebox, and 3 x 10mm bolts to remove glovebox tray. just disconnect the battery, airbags r not needing to be disengaged, no sensors near this work area.

Had same prob, its how u put the glovebox on at the very back 2 bolts..just undo those and reline it all up, it will work!!! know what u mean about removing motor, gave me a headrush!!!

    Hi!
My name is Vitaliy. I wanted to ask you about the climate control system in your car.
When removing the fan, freon should be drained?
    Waiting for comment. Thank you.

I tried the zip tie trick, but not luck. It still rattled and I realized that the zip ties locked up the internal/fresh air lever. So I sprayed wd40 under the squirrel cage towards the motor shaft, that made it run quiet, but don't know how long it will last.
If I have to swap motors, I could do it in 10 minutes now.

Mine makes noise only when its very cold outside.I think its the blower motor bearings

My 2003 Toyota Corolla seems to have a similar problem. It started with the blower not working at all but the highest setting. Now it runs only on the highest setting and makes a godawful noise. This being winter in Chicago I'll have a mechanic look at it, alas.

You can win on Ebay if you buy right! I only purchase these kind of parts from proper Ebay Motor Parts companies who offer AT LEAST one years warranty! To me it is worth the extra 5 bucks! Like I said, my heater blower motor has now ran perfectly for months WITH NO BAD NOISES!

Any idea how to replace the filter that's underneath the foam where you zip-tied.

    • @martinhunt1084

Well yeah, you simply unclip the zip ties correct.

The plastic clips r gonna break on that passenger door plate, I still have a naked bare wire door plate! but my cars 14yrs old, so I do not care!
