I just got a 2002 Corolla from a mom with 115,000 miles on it! It’s having trouble passing California smog standards but it’s gonna last forever if I take care of it. Thank you! I will be changing the oil for the very first time.
When you take it in to get tested… Try making sure that you drove the car for a while and the engine is nice and hot… Well we had smog tests hear a hot engine always performed better… Good luck with the oil change
i love that car, especially when gas prices decides to go up, i also have a 2002 corolla with 216,000 miles, it only gets driven one day a week, its just a secondary vehicle at the moment, i'll never sell her though, i will be doing an oil change this weekend
Ok I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla I’m over 65 I just changed the oil and filter thanks to you 🐥 The garage wanted 78 $ I had to buy a filter wrench but Still only cost me 40 $
Great video, finally someone that shows exact location of the drain and where the filter is located. Beautiful Video!!! My TOYOTA has 478,000 Km. and even the AC works. Great Car!
Just curious how you know you have 478,000 KM when the odometer tops out at 299,000? My understanding is that the odometer stops at 299K whether it's kilometers or miles, which is a problem for the former since Corollas would normally do much more than 299K km. I'm asking because I have the same car and I'm in Canada, so the odometer is in km as well.
That was nice of Warren helping you out changing oil. This saves a lot of money not going to a service station. Have a wonderful weekend. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 FW
What happens with the Toyota Corolla‘s is the rings get clogged Yeah I have had that type of problem and had some success with using seafoam. I’ve removed the spark plugs, poured a little bit of seafoam down on top of the pistons through the spark plug holes and let it sit for a few hours… But you must crank the engine over without the spark plugs in it or it will wreck the engine. I then put the spark plugs back in and dump in the rest of the remaining seafoam in the oil. Just remember if you take out the spark plugs you have to make sure that any fluid that you add down those holes Hass to come out before you put the spark plug back in… That means cranking over the engine with the spark plugs out to blow all that stuff out. If you don’t feel comfortable doing that try and find a friend that works on cars and they can help you.… You can also try a little thicker motor oil
I have one of these with 110k miles but I’m having problems when I start pushing the gas from a complete stop it stutters like if it wants to die. Can someone tell me what that might be?
Why? That’s a good question… It’s an oil filter and a little bit more of a pricey one was from Napa… It was their gold filter Part #: NGF 1394 Or a Fram PH4967 Good luck
You can use whatever you like… I’d like Rotella 5w40 synthetic. I always suggest a synthetic and a good oil filter and if you change your oil regularly you’ll be good If you’re nervous what grade of oil to use, just use what is recommended for the car
If it wasn’t smoking before the tuneup you possibly did something to cause it Does it smoke when you start it and then it goes away? Or when you accelerate? Did you use really thin oil? Toyota corollas do tend to smoke

Thank you. I'm on a budget fixed income and just got a 99 Toyota Corolla after 14 years of riding a bus. Saving money and learn to do it myself
Do you know what they’re a decent little car as long as you check the oil and make sure you change it… Good choice for transportation
Salute to you ma’am 🥇😤👌
this is the greatest car ever made. mine still runs after 400k miles like its brand new
I am a woman on a budget because I'm disabled I'm doing my own oil change from now on thank you 😍

my 2002 Toyota Corolla just turned 131k miles. I’ll keep mine for a longtime, use as a daily commuter. 👍
My 2002 Corolla just hit 120k, fucking love it👌

Still only cost me 40 $
That is absolutely awesome… I’m really happy it worked out for you

@sammyt3514 my 1999 Corolla has 326,000kms and it's reads it fine! I think it was the newer corolla with that issue
Nice to see some local vids on youtube! Love the video. 🇨🇦
A Canadian Brother!
Thanks
Thanks for this video. I checked a few others but this was definitely the best. Never changed a oil filter before. 👍
That’s awesome
I’m so glad I could help
Thanks for the video! This will be my first time changing the oil on my first car which is a 2001 Corolla and this was very helpful!
202k Miles by the way 😂
I’m really glad it helped you
I've got Toyota corolla 2002,I recommend to ad STP oil small can on the top. it's provide better lubricate engine with height millage
About to do one on mine. I got a 99 VE with 26,000 miles on it! Bought from an 88 year old here in Denver
That oil filter location is in a hard location to get to compared to the camrys i had where its accessible from the top.
You are absolutely right
Actual legend mate
👍

Yeah, Warren is a good guy. Thank you for coming by and checking out the video. I appreciate all you do for me
@@ghettovanadventures your welcome. Thank you
great vid, clear, concise and detailed. thanks for sharing
Thanks
Doing a great job taking care of that car👍
I’m trying… I usually try to extract as much life as I can out of each vehicle I own
Thank you, sir.
Thank you, and I hope you stick around
I do have a 2002 corolla but it is burning so much oil. For every 150 miles you need to refill. Any solution?

@@ghettovanadventures can you give an estimate how much does it cost?

Have you ever done a tuneup?
Great explanation and easy to understand demonstration----Thanks
I feel dumb for asking this but what kind of filter did you buy
Why? That’s a good question… It’s an oil filter and a little bit more of a pricey one was from Napa… It was their gold filter Part #: NGF 1394
Or a Fram PH4967
Good luck
Thanks man, very in depth love your work
Thanks
I hope it helped
Hi Dave and Warren, I have fallen behind but am catching up now. You must have a pretty good day there. No jacket. 🤔 thanks for sharing. 💕NonnaGrace
if the 'washer' on the drain plug is a 'crush' type and not replaced, isn't it already 'crushed' ?
How many quarts of oil does it take
I think it holds 3.7 L with the filter but always check your oil level because different oil filters can hold different amounts
I really need to learn how to change my own oil. But I'm pretty inept! LOL I would totally lose the washer and the gasket for that matter!
I’ve seen all you can do Ann... It would be easy for you
Nice work Dave !
Thanks… I know you could probably do this in your sleep but I appreciate you stopping by
Likes and comments bro... we all need them !
The Halloween outlet called, they want their beard back!
Aww come on lol
I know my beard looks a little out of control
What should I use for summer weather ? I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla
You can use whatever you like… I’d like Rotella 5w40 synthetic.
I always suggest a synthetic and a good oil filter and if you change your oil regularly you’ll be good

The beard is majestic
Lol thanks
oil capacity?
Mines is smoking after tuneup n oil change 🗣HELP
If it wasn’t smoking before the tuneup you possibly did something to cause it
Does it smoke when you start it and then it goes away? Or when you accelerate?
Did you use really thin oil? Toyota corollas do tend to smoke
Very informative! So much cheaper sometimes to just do.it yourself
Me watching this knowing well enough I’ve lost the oil filter gasket
😳
Thanks for sharing. Well done friend!
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it
Why does my Corolla sound like a lawnmower
It could be a lot of things from a bad muffler to just the way that car sounds. I do notice a resemblance between my lawn tractor and the car
You forgot use gloves amigo
I know.
I am old school and I forget to wear them all the time
👍👍😀
:)
Very bad dark video
Sorry
I’ll try harder
@@ghettovanadventures What are you apologizing for this video is perfect I followed through and did it all myself. Thank you so much sir.
