In the past, my face looked dull. However, I managed to achieve radiant skin, free from pimples and dark spots, by adopting these practices. -: 1. This new formula for the gentle skin cleanser was absolutely terrible for my daughter and I. I didn’t realize it until I did a deep dive on Reddit and saw so many people commenting the same results. A burning stinging face with red blotches all over my face. I also had bumps all over my face. A trip to the dermatologist confirmed my findings. I wish they could’ve kept the old formula and just added this new line of products :( also I don’t think that they do smell the same to me. I find the new formula scent to not be as pleasant. Very upset!!
I used to use the gentle cleanser in the past and it was wonderful soft gentle with no irritation. I see it says improved now and I tried it and I got irritated!! :(
This new formula smells like flowers to me. I can tell a big difference between the new and old one. I used the old one for several years and am finding that the fragrance is irritating for me and I'm seriously disappointed. I think I'm switching to cera ve!
The new Gentle Cetaphil Cleanser formula is NO LONGER "FUNGAL ACNE SAFE." If you loved the older formulations, my friend just bought the Equate generic at Walmart that is still based on the old formula.
On this channel, Dr Dray has said multiple times there's nothing such as 'fungal acne safe'. It's a bogus term plus a Cleanser that makes contact with the skin for such little time won't improve or aggravate fungal acne.

The Cetaphil Gentle Clear Cleanser will forever be a mainstay in my regimen. It was the first cleanser I tried after switching over from "natural beauty". Yup! The old formula always gave me a sting feeling, after. I really thought I was the only one who was feeling it, but thank goodness I'm not crazy lol
Love these "1-Brand" reviews! I used to use the Gentle Skin cleanser but as you said, it doesn't remove eye makeup at all. It breaks it up somewhat but doesn't actually remove it. I am digging their new Healthy Radiance Exfoliating cleanser. Very gentle and leaves my skin very smooth. :)
I used to love the gentle hydrating cleanser and the moisturizing cream but the reformulation gave me such a horrible breakout 😭 I think it was the niacinamide, my skin doesn’t always get along with that ingredient but it’s sad because these were some of the few products my extra sensitive and ultra dry skin could handle. Unfortunately vanicream isn’t moisturizing enough.
It made my face burn with the new formula. And if my significant other used it, it would also make my skin burn if he touched me. I loved the product and used it for many years since it’s advertised for sensitive skin, but now I can’t anymore.
@@Berkimelon cetaphil daily facial wash was the only one that didnt mess my skin up and my skin hates Niacinamide. Now I have no idea what facial wash to use now
I used to use the old gentle face cleanser religiously in the winter. Bought the new stuff and broke out in hives and my skin was hot to the touch 🥴. I use the daily facial one in the summer. Haven’t tried the new one of that cleanser but a little nervous. I’ve gone through the ingredients and have no idea what caused such irritation but I’m so bummed!
I just bought the new cetaphil gentle cleanser not realising the formula had changed... it totally broke me out! :( i finally found a cleanser that was sutiable for my skin and got rid of ALL my acne... now it's all coming back :( i am so upset.
I have the same experience. I’m pretty sure it’s because of the niacinamide they added. Heartbroken and on the hunt for a new cleanser that won’t break me out again 🥲💔
I just had that same experience, and it is weird because I’ve been using the new formula for around 4 weeks, and didn’t suffered any side effects, until today, my face got really red and it was hot. Is sad and upsetting because we as costumers expect to receive a product as better as the old formula
I am one of those who are sensitive to phenoxyethanol. When I use a product that has it on my face, my eyes burn (even when I apply well away from my eyes), and I get small raised itchy bumps on my face. And if I use a mascara with it, it burns my eyes like crazy even more. So hard to find products without it now, since there's pressure to go paraben-free, and phenoxyethanol seems to be the default substitute. I'm happy to see these reformulations that don't use it.
I used the new formula for the dry sensitive skin cleanser this evening and my face started burning after massaging it into my skin for about 30 secs and I looked up at the mirror and my face was extremely red, it looked like I had just had microneedling. I panicked and immediately started rinsing it off and the burning was so intense so I took an antihistamine and it took over an hour for my skin to calm down. I've never reacted to a skincare product like this before. Definitely won't be using it ever again as clearly i'm very allergic to it
I came here looking for this comment, I’ve been using the new formula for around tree weeks and didn’t notice any difference comparing it to the old one (beside the new obnoxious smell). I noticed some redness on my skin (not that alarming) only when I wash it with the new cetaphin formula after shaving with razor blade, so I started using a electric one, and didn’t notice any redness ever since, until about 20 minutes ago, my sking got really really red, and it felt super hot. Of course I got really stressed out
The new gentle cleanser is not for me. It was kind of drying and by the fourth day it made me itch all over like a lunatic. I used the previous one for over a decade in winter for face and body. No active ingredients worked well. Now the search begins again with a dry, red, irritated face going into winter. Not happy. The original stuff never done me wrong like that.
Me too and the same with my mom. I’ve been using the original for 28 years. My then 1 year old had some skin issues and her dermatologist prescribed it to her. I tried it and loved it. Told my daughter’s doctor and she said her whole family used it and she increased my refills. My whole family had used it. With the new formulation, we all were affected with terrible itchy skin. I feel like they did not test this enough.
I’ve been using the Daily Facial Cleanser for years now. My cheeks start tingling, like a pins & needles sensation near my nose. Not sure if this is the same as the “stinging” people experience. It was the Daily Facial cleanser. New formulation, same thing. Switched to Cerave Cream to Foam. Better cleaning experience & no more tingling. Have to use less. Better for oily skin in my case. Fragrance free. switching to fragrance free then going back to ceta daily and it just smells so bad & strong. Tried the new Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, and hated it. Bad cleaning experience and feels like it numbs your lips. Just a bad experience.
I am now considering Cetaphil the new formulation seems good Dr dray Please make a video of Cerave new formulation as well so we can decide especially their Hydrating cleanser 🙏
I remembered trying out the old formulations (cause that's what's alot of people recommend me when I used to use have bad acne). I thought it never work and also it did gave me bad breakouts. Now really interested with the new formulations! I bought the travel gentle cleanser size and so far loving it for the colder seasons!
So upset that they’ve changed it :( it used to work so well for me and instantly would make my skin feel so much better. Now with this new formula, it genuinely feels like it’s doing absolutely nothing
Same here, niacinamide doesn’t go well with my skin. I’ve tried their new formulation and my skin broke out real bad after 4 days of usage. I had to buy 10 250ml bottles of their old formulation just so I have stock until the end of the year. I really hope Galderma would still make the old formulation just for the sake of their loyal consumers who are used to the old one.
I have normal to combo skin and love using the gentle cleansing versus the daily cleansing. Even though my T-zone can get oily I loved the gentle cleansing because it would help remove makeup, leave my face clean and soft. I just picked up the new formulation and haven’t had any issues, just don’t really like the smell….not too terrible but weird like plastic. I used to love their antibacterial bar soap but after a while it was too harsh. Other than the cleanser I don’t use many of their products
Update***** I definitely do not like the new formulation as it dries me out/broke out in rash like patches on my forehead. Had to run out to a mom and pop store/beauty supply to find the original
I find the new formula to be very drying. I’m not a fan at all and think I’ll need to find a new face wash unfortunately. So bummed because I’ve used this for years! It also smells different to me than the previous version.
Thank you for today's video. I will try the new Cetaphil cleanser. I did get the new Cetaphil Moisturizing cream for dry skin, and like it. Will you be doing a video on their new moisturizers and creams?

You must be the only person on earth not to complain about the new formula because I know dozens of people that broke out because of it and even more all over the internet
I like the new formula to gentle skin cleanser. I want to go purchase daily cleanser next. I will give a review after I use the daily cleanser. The important step is to clean vigorously when using this cleanser and use a towel afterwards.
I am an older woman who still breaks out and don't wear foundation, so my physician recommends Spectro Derm. I use Cerave currently and prescription products for acne. I get VERY DRY, ALMOST SCABBY but I am also still really oily- I've got the old Cetaphil in my Amazon cart- I'd appreciate your advice. I also rely on Aveeno's soap free, oatmeal bar- everything causes zits and I am a bit fed up! Excellent video as always. Namaste.
The old Cetaphil moisturizing lotion formula kept my skin clean and moist. The new formula burns my skin and feels like I’m rubbing a slice of lemon on my face. Time to shop for a different brand.
Nooope. Their new gentle cleanser formula gave me contact dermatitis. My skin was so irritated after using it for 2 days. They shouldnt have changed it
Started using the Cetaphil lotion today for sensitive skin. I love hoe it feels on my skin so far. I hope it's good fo me. Thinking about trying the cleansers too.
I used Cetaphil lotion for 10 years. I'm allergic to new glycerin (it's made from soy). :< I used it for 4 days and felt horrible, in the same way I feel when I put soybean oil on my skin. Also not sure if Niacinamide irritates my skin, too, or not, but my skin definitely felt tight and red. I have some empty-ish bottles of the old formula left. I have 0 idea what I'm going to do when they run out. My face has already been very sad because I've been trying to thin the old formula with aloe and a little oil. :
I love the new Cetaphil moisturizing cleanser! I have always preferred Cetaphil cleansers over Cerave’s. They are gentler on the eyes and I love their textures.
Thank you for sharing info on the change in ingredients. I’ve used the gentle skin cleanser for years; unfortunately the new formulation has been leaving my skin burning and bright red similar to a fresh sunburn for the first 5 minutes after use. Thinking it may be sensitive to the niacinimide
Cetaphil still leaves my face dirty. When I wipe with my toner I still get so many dirty brown cotton balls showing my face is not cleansed. I just went back to using by delta soap bar and black soap bar and my cotton balls are clean as a whistle when I use my toner pads.
I love new cetaphil cleanser my dermat recommended me and i hardly use any moisturiser after that it makes my skin so supple and even sunscreen gets removed if you rub it more than a minute though ofcourse it takes time to remove but ain't remove makeup❤😊
I’m not happy about these changes. Too many products have too much of that stuff and it irritates my skin. Niacinamide and hyaloronic acid irritates my skin and everything has these ingredients. I’ve had to stop using CeraVe, and most neutrogena, also most of oil of Olay. A couple of months ago I bought a small of cedaphil face and body cream, I was liking that. Now I can’t get it anymore. I’ve done an exhaustive search for products that I can actually use without irritating and burning. 😡
I’ve used the old gentle skin cleanser for a very long time, almost 6 years. I thought it would be very nice with the new formula (I tried the dry sensitive one) but it caused me a very big break out while using it and I’m stil facing its consequences :(. The new one burned my face like 30s after applied, especially when I used it for the eyes-surrounding zone, my eyes was really hurt. And the worse part is, my face started to have oil even I’m a dry-normal skin :((.
i just got my new formulation cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for all skin types , and when i just used it for the first time and it stung my skin which never happened before with the older formulation. i dont think niacinamide irritates my skin(?) since i’ve been using the ordinary’s 10%niacinamide+ 1%zinc and nothing wrong happened with it so far (abt 5months?)
I really like the new formulas! I can't stand the masking fragrance personally. The gentle skin cleanser I find friends way better used on dry skin first! Try it!

Omg same with me😭😭
@@NurulAqilah-kd4ve you can use the equate brand, gentle skin cleanser. It's the exact same formula of the old Cetaphil formula.
Me too, so upset
Literally broke me out after one day . I’m upset
Same. Sitting with stinging and redness all over my face
This new formula smells like flowers to me. I can tell a big difference between the new and old one. I used the old one for several years and am finding that the fragrance is irritating for me and I'm seriously disappointed. I think I'm switching to cera ve!
Why they didn't take the time to get rid of frangrance in the new formulation? I just don't get it. 😕
Ugh yes!! I wasnt paying attention and mustve skimmed over it before I bought it. I ended up giving mine away.
Yes it also seems like there is more perfume in it now. I hate the smell.
Fragrance masks the original formulation - as far as I remember
Just picked up the Healthy Radiance line, can’t wait to try them! Thanks for the info!
the gentle cleanser actually takes off my makeup super well!
All I wear is washable mascara, do you think it will take that off?
@@jessie9653 it does mine!
@@graceblackfordmusic thats funny 🤣 I just tried it a half hour ago and it takes it off just fine. I like it ☺️
No, adding niacinimide to everything is not an improvement. It's an active that not everyone can tolerate, like myself. Stop with the trends
Precisely. I do not know who advises skincare companies about ingredients. The craze for Niacinamide and other trending ingredients is ridiculous.
I get that but majority of ppl can tolerate it
@@vivianani582 it's not just trending it's very beneficial for the skin
Me too niacinamide is not for my skin.
This new formula with Niacinamide burn my skin.
@@taiyabazaheer9492 I am not a cult follower, and I have personally gone through malassezia folliculitis. There are certain ingredients that feed the yeast. When you put the wrong product on, your skin gets worse. If you aren't speaking from personal experience and are just parroting Dr Dray like a cult follower, it is unnecessary. I have heard Dr Dray's opinion on this before, and it goes against my personal experience. Also, the previous Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser was recommended to me last year by MY DERMATOLOGIST. It is best to have more than one source and to still expand your own knowledge. Otherwise you are just a mindless cult follower. Best of luck with that.
The Cetaphil Gentle Clear Cleanser will forever be a mainstay in my regimen. It was the first cleanser I tried after switching over from "natural beauty". Im on my 5th month of using it with the matching moisturizer and my face looks amazing!! I'm also really glad its a cream based cleanser as other acne cleansers are super drying.
@@lism2164 Im using the Cetaphil Gentle Clear Acne Mattifying moisturizer. Its from the same line as the cleanser. My skin is super oily, acne prone, and I have hyperpigmentation but this has been really helping me. Oh and sunscreen! Lol
Thanks!
I'm torn between stocking up on the old formula and trying out the new formula of the gentle skin cleanser. I really love it like nothing else
Right where can I stock up on the old one ???

I used to love the gentle hydrating cleanser and the moisturizing cream but the reformulation gave me such a horrible breakout 😭 I think it was the niacinamide, my skin doesn’t always get along with that ingredient but it’s sad because these were some of the few products my extra sensitive and ultra dry skin could handle. Unfortunately vanicream isn’t moisturizing enough.
Yes me too, Can't use product anymore. So so sad
Now I have no idea what facial wash to use now
@@geoff0707 you can try the target or cvs duplicate it's the same as the old formulation. Good luck
@@Berkimelon CVS or target duplicate same formulation as old Cetaphil gentle cleanser, you can try. Good luck
Same here!
I have the same experience. I’m pretty sure it’s because of the niacinamide they added. Heartbroken and on the hunt for a new cleanser that won’t break me out again 🥲💔
Same here!!! I’m still dealing with the rash. I’m so frustrated!
The reformulation gave me hives 😭 it's makes me sad because I used and loved the old school Cetaphil for years
I used the new formula for the dry sensitive skin cleanser this evening and my face started burning after massaging it into my skin for about 30 secs and I looked up at the mirror and my face was extremely red, it looked like I had just had microneedling. I panicked and immediately started rinsing it off and the burning was so intense so I took an antihistamine and it took over an hour for my skin to calm down.
I've never reacted to a skincare product like this before. Definitely won't be using it ever again as clearly i'm very allergic to it
Omg This happened to me as well.
My skin was all good till yesterday....
Just after using this cleanser my skin got irrited and all red.
Niacinamide
I came here looking for this comment, I’ve been using the new formula for around tree weeks and didn’t notice any difference comparing it to the old one (beside the new obnoxious smell). I noticed some redness on my skin (not that alarming) only when I wash it with the new cetaphin formula after shaving with razor blade, so I started using a electric one, and didn’t notice any redness ever since, until about 20 minutes ago, my sking got really really red, and it felt super hot. Of course I got really stressed out
The new formulation BURNS my skin 🔥
The old one burned me as well as the new one.
Mine too
Love that you're wearing nail polish!! You look so good! So posh! 😃🥰💅
Same here I just started using the Walmart or Walgreens versions.
@@vh4478 good to know thanks for the review
I am now considering Cetaphil the new formulation seems good
Dr dray Please make a video of Cerave new formulation as well so we can decide especially their Hydrating cleanser 🙏
Oh no I didn't realize CeraVe changed there ingredients too 😥
I have seen a ton of bad reviews about the new formula. I think I'm gonna stock up on the original formula while I can still find it.
I remembered trying out the old formulations (cause that's what's alot of people recommend me when I used to use have bad acne). I thought it never work and also it did gave me bad breakouts. Now really interested with the new formulations! I bought the travel gentle cleanser size and so far loving it for the colder seasons!
Oooo yeah! I’ve been waiting for your opinion on this one. Thanks Dr. Dray!
So upset that they’ve changed it :( it used to work so well for me and instantly would make my skin feel so much better. Now with this new formula, it genuinely feels like it’s doing absolutely nothing
Honestly
Have you found an alternative?
Oh no! I’m super sensitive to niacinamide, and have used Cetaphil since I was in high school… so for 25 years! I’m sad.
12:12 Dear dr. Dray, your nails look so pretty!💅 The polish is great and so is the length - not extremely short and not too long😍👍
Oh thank you!
Woo hoo Friday. Hope you are having a nice Friday Dr.Dray! 💕

Hey GOOD NEWS! 🌠 If you like the original version of the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, today I discovered they currently have a lot on Burlington! 🛒
Timely video. I just noticed the new Cetaphil at Walmart and wondered what you would say about it. Now I know!
Oooh perfect! I was interested in this change. Happy Friday dr dray!
Thanks for watching
Can you talk about the new formulations for the other cetaphil products, like the moisturizing cream?
I would like to know as well. I'm almost out of my old jar and debating if I even want to bother with the new formula 😥
I’ll have to give Cetaphil another try, thanks Dr. Dray!
The Cetaphil cleanser was the only thing that helped me out during breakout the new formula irritates my skin and makes acne itchy
I love the new formulations of the cleansers and moisturizers and cream.
I love this cleanser 🧼 my skin glows if I leave it on in the shower for 15 to 30 seconds.
I absolutely LOVE the new gentle cleanser!! No burning or stinging my rosacea and no tight feeling. I finally found a holy grail cleanser.
It is really improved
I find the new formula to be very drying. I’m not a fan at all and think I’ll need to find a new face wash unfortunately. So bummed because I’ve used this for years!
It also smells different to me than the previous version.
Thank you for today's video. I will try the new Cetaphil cleanser. I did get the new Cetaphil
Moisturizing cream for dry skin, and like it. Will you be doing a video on their new moisturizers and creams?
Off to Walmart to buy some new Cetaphil! What wonderful changes they’ve made! I can’t wait til you do a review on the new and improved moisturizers. If they’re as good as the cleansers I’ll pick one of those up as well. Happy Friday Andrea and thank you for everything you do for us😘💐
You must be the only person on earth not to complain about the new formula because I know dozens of people that broke out because of it and even more all over the internet

The new formula makes my skin feel tight and the old one didn’t so I’m not happy with a new one at all
I like the new formula to gentle skin cleanser.
I tried the new version cleanser but just can’t stand the fragrance, wish they would have removed it.
Why do these products never get released in Canada? :(
Love the new formula for the gentle cleanser- very happy
Great info!!! Cetaphil really works on my face especially treat my pimples!
Hey Doc 👋 I have never tried anything by Cetaphil, but I'm definitely interested in doing so now, thanks for the video!

Nooope. Their new gentle cleanser formula gave me contact dermatitis. My skin was so irritated after using it for 2 days. They shouldnt have changed it
Me too I’m breaking out really bad
Same here 😭
Started using the Cetaphil lotion today for sensitive skin. I love hoe it feels on my skin so far. I hope it's good fo me. Thinking about trying the cleansers too.
Unfortunately the new formula is breaking me out! 😭😭 need to find a new cleanser now- how disappointing
was waiting for this one. I would like to hear about the reformulations of the moisturizers too , but I can't find any on TH-cam! thanks Dr dray
I love the new Cetaphil moisturizing cleanser! I have always preferred Cetaphil cleansers over Cerave’s. They are gentler on the eyes and I love their textures.
The cetaphil products for sensitive skin have recently changed. Will you please review these products, especially the daily cleanser and moisturizer?
I switched to CeraVe. The reformulation to me changed the smell and the texture, both I don't like.
I have used cetaphil gentle cleanser for many many years. Have always loved it.
Happy Friday Dr Dray!
Happy Friday
Cetaphil still leaves my face dirty. When I wipe with my toner I still get so many dirty brown cotton balls showing my face is not cleansed. I just went back to using by delta soap bar and black soap bar and my cotton balls are clean as a whistle when I use my toner pads.
I bought the new formula by accident and it had soooo much fragrance in it and gave me eczema. Big bummer!!
Thank you for talking about hard water. I believe it can help a lot of people. I know it has for me
Their gentle skin cleanser has a ph of 6.3-6.8, which I heard increases likelihood that niacinamide changes to niacin and flushes face
I hear ya 😠
Have you tried the updated formula of the moisturizing cream??
You read my mind Dr Dray!! 🔮✨
I actually found a fragrance free version for the cetaphil combination to oily skin facial cleanser at Target which I'm so happy about 😊
It was good?

i just got my new formulation cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for all skin types , and when i just used it for the first time and it stung my skin which never happened before with the older formulation. i dont think niacinamide irritates my skin(?) since i’ve been using the ordinary’s 10%niacinamide+ 1%zinc and nothing wrong happened with it so far (abt 5months?)
The new formulation sounds great!!!
The new formulation just burned my skin only to realize a month later with a burned dry itchy face. The old formulation was Gold.
Noooo. I'm highly allergic to coconut and all its by-products. Now I wont be able to use these. Any suggestions for something else that's similar??
I really like the new formulas! I can't stand the masking fragrance personally. The gentle skin cleanser I find friends way better used on dry skin first! Try it!
