Ive had the 510mm MM barrel installed in a MAXX hop for a few months now, works pretty well for me, but that just leads me to belive that the MM has QC issues if everyone is getting different results. For my set up its worked well, but I dont think its worth the price

@@reflexairsoft4648 will try some begadi r hop buckings can only find them from germany what degree would you recommend for 350fps with .20g shooting .32g
@christopher hayto i would go 60 degrees, remember to choose the correct size Begadi bucking the mag5 is for standard barrel windows Also for that weight bb i would try the fly5 bucking
I remember seeing one review where the barrel was performing quite poorly. Mastermods parts have a lot of hype, but it doesn't seem like there's any solid reason for the said hype
I was just made aware of this vid, and I saw the same things as he did. The hype might just come from flashy packaging and paid/sponsored youtube reviews and I hate that
So just in terms of AEG barrels, what do you recommend? I'm eventually going to try out the begadi packings but right now I'm playing around with the new silicone packings from maple leaf (super mac and MR). Also, if you have any guidance for GBBP packings that would be greatly appreciated :).
Its a question I get alot, maybe I should do a vid on that 😄 I Can stand by Prometheus, davinici70, maple leaf, lambda, orga, zci, pdi and EDgI in barrels. I do very little in the gbb stuff so I wont recommend anything sorry 😄
Just put My MM barrel in My AEG this morning… replacing My Maple Leaf. “I” have none of the machining issues You pointed out on Yours, Nor do I have any plating issue(s)… Mine doesn’t seem to be plated(scratch tested) Internally, My r-hop rubber has no bump(s) that You pointed out on Yours. Anyhow, put 130+ BB’s through it while sighting it in. FPS increase average is 15 easily. 0.25 at 200 ft was 9 out of 10 on a 2” target and I had 4 of My teammates shoot as well… Maybe You got a dud?
Yours are plated, its a brass barrel with a plating, if you Cut it with a file you expose the brass underneath It has the bump on the retailers and their web site pictures still so i do not believe they changed it, so it is there, its alot of work to remove it in the mould. 0.25 is very light, the whole idea with an r hop is that it Can lift heavy bbs consistantly, and accurately, and this has proven difficult for this config. Increased fps, could just be Down to better fitment in the hop Unit or better nozzle contact. I have been send pictures of other barrels, and they have the same problems. Had 2 barrels in my hands and they had the same plating issues and one had a burr on the inside of the hop window sticking out.
@@reflexairsoft4648 I plan on swapping My Hop Up out sometime soon… I will take some pictures and get them posted. .25g, I am currently at a large indoor site, their limit is .25g unfortunately. I shoot .36g outside and expect the same performance, but haven’t tried yet. Good thing is if it doesn’t work out, I still have My Maple Leaf ready to rock…
@@reflexairsoft4648 So, I have in My hand the MM R-Hop 6.04 370mm system that I installed a few weeks ago. Getting ready to install a Maxx Hop Up unit… waiting on UPS😁 Barrel is plated w/ zero blemishes. No other nubs on rubber… more like a long patch. (Like You explained) Only issue I see is that there is a sharp edge on the cut out for the R-Hop rubber. There was some BB residue (shearing?) that got under the rubber and barrel. I was having some stray shots last Saturday, so this was the problem I think. I’ll file the edge, install the Hop Up unit and monitor for anymore issues.
No worries man, you Can just change the nub and use lighter bbs (.28-30) then you will be ok. And if you are comming from a standard barrel/bucking combo, you will see improvement 👍
I much appreciate your reply, Yes I’m coming from a standard stock brass barrel out of my cyma cm041g mp5 at 229mm length, .28-.30’s were what I was looking to use with it so all good, Main thing that bugs me is I thought it was steel,I was originally gonna run a zci barrel but these master mods just came in to my shop so thought I’d try it
In my own tippmann i run a lambda steel 6.05 with the modify flat hop bucking and flat nub. The tippmann is very accepting of bucking/barrel choises so alot of things will fit no problem, even madbull phyton barrels
The tippmann is not a very accurate gun right from the bat, so in my tippmanns I went for a more durable setup, but yes I would go for the maple leaf barrels, and depending on your fps 60-70 bucking MR regular will do just fine 👍
so now I'm wondering, what do you consider a good barrel brand and bucking + nub combo? And, do you think that barrel length also increases/decreases accuracy? I'm about to pull the trigger on a MTW Mil-spec 10 or 14 inch version as my main gun (before I had my VSR 10 bolted, but I want something more versatile) and I want to keep the stock barrel group intact but also get a new barrel group which I'm going to slap in the 'best' parts. (while keeping the stock group as back-up incase I make it worse)
That depends, what weight bb, what fps, semi only? Atm I really like my new gen prommy steel with the Begadi fly7 for .36 but if I go higher in weight eg. .4 or .45 I will choose a mr or mag. All in the 60-70degrees range
I will be running it both DMR config (1.7J max, 0.4g bb's) and assault (1.2J max, 0.3g bb's). Both configs in semi only Back when I made my vsr bolt build it was just slap either an EdGI barrel in it or PDI and it is okay. But I guess that has changed from 4 years ago
@@meldepinda some things have changed pdi and EDgI are still very very good, but my most accurate setup to date have to be: maxx Unit 6.5mm nub, my slightly modified prommy new gen barrel, and fly7 for under 0.4 bb and mag7 for over .4
Gotcha yeah I used 70 degree for 0.4+ in my sniper, do you happen also to have gotten your hands on a Phoenix hop-up and what combination works with it? Since its most likely I will stick with it in the beginning (see reason below) It is known that the Reaper gen 2 is quite picky in it's hop-up choice so I'm likely to stick with the Phoenix unless I can get some confirmation from MTW groups that Maxx also works)
Did you even use the Master Mods nub? My setup performs at least as well as it did with an R hopped ZCI barrel. It looks like you're under volumed now.. remember it's a 6.04mm bore..
mins is finished flawlessly. the inner surface is at least as smooth as my ZCI and Prometheus tight bore barrels. The R hop system performs like my rhopped barrels unless you're using trash sub 0.3 bbs.
