    This interview was many many years ago when Julia Duffy was a much younger woman. Even today, in 2022, she still looks fabulous for a 71 year old woman. She aged very nicely.

      It really did. Her acting style fit it very well with the rest of the cast. It didn't hurt that she was amazingly cute. If you want another good example of her acting, watch her in a CBS miniseries from about that time called "The Blue and The Gray." She was just about the only thing bearable about it.

    HEr and Peter Scolari's characters really bumped up the shows humor level---that "Kirk" ahole was so obnoxious he ruined every scene his leaving was addition by subtraction.

    • @grf15
      @grf15 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, Kirk was a huge mistake. I saw an interview with the creator or producer who admitted it was a misstep. However, the same person invented Larry, Daryl, and Daryl. Beyond brilliant, everyone quickly forgot all about Kirk after that.

      Maybe it's because I'm a native New Englander, but I always preferred it when the jokes were at the expense of the flatlanders. Larry, Darry and Darryl signaled the end of this good natured humor and a turn to mocking everything the Loudons moved to Vermont for in the first place. And where on earth did Larry get that ridiculous accent??

      My theory is that Kirk had to play the "thorn in the side" to Dick (and everyone else for that matter). As the series progressed and grew in popularity, they were able to bring in more cast to carry the "thorn in side" load. I do agree, Kirk had to go.
