Disclaimer: I don't own anything. This is just for entertainment purposes and hopefully to get more people interested in one of the greatest sitcoms in television history.

The TV stars that we grew up with are dropping like flies.
I watch the reruns and it takes me back to what my life was like during those times. Life was good. What a joy to see their reactions when they miss up. They know its coming and how they try to recover and can't.
Ahhhh, the 70's. Best times ever!
Living in Chicago again today, seeing how it was before my husband was born and when I was a toddler, it's quite nostalgic.
Great show. I appreciate these shows (Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, WKRP in Cincinnati, etc) so much more today, as an adult, and faced with the crap on the air now.
I don't even watch TV unless it's Heroes and Icons, Cozi TV, or Decades
And God bless Mary Tyler Moore for producing so many terrific shows. She and Lucille Ball did some great work in that arena.
The writing on this show was top notch even now it is as funny as when it first aired. Suzanne Pleshette was incredibly beautiful but you never questioned how they ever got together you just had to see their interaction and then you knew they were magic together.
The Thanksgiving show was THE BEST! Those four guys were drinking enough they all had a buzz on.
Trying to hide their laughter wasn’t a ‘blooper’ it was a delight. The audience in the studio that day was fortunate enough to be part of a classic episode, and TV comedy history. 😊
Used to play a drinking game called "Hi Bob" while watching this show. You took a sip every time someone said "Bob" and when anyone said : "Hi Bob", you had to guzzle what remained in your glass,bottle or can.
Bob’s managed to outlive both of his TV wives and most of the people on this show.
Bob and Virginia Quinn Newhart have been married since before I was born. Their real marriage is priceless. Hollywood never got in the way.

It's cool that Bill Daily went from _I Dream of Jeannie_ to _"The Bob Newhart Show"_ Audiences got to see a different side of his acting.
The Bob Newhart Show! To me, there is no comparison.
Bob Newhart is the most well written television show of all time--even beats its 'mother'--the MTM show. And brilliant ensemble cast, of course--makes today's shows look like dog food. Every episode is a pleasure to watch--its a diamond. Very adult show in the best possible definition. I feel like sipping a really good martini and having smoked mussels while watching.
Sorry, but NEWHART was even better. Better characters. Nothing wrong with BOB Newhart though.

I refuse to discredit the work of the late great Tom Poston who originated before any appearances on shows hosted by Bob Newhart and Robin Williams with Steve Allen, Don Knotts, Bill Dana, and Louis Nye on the original "Tonight Show." The host with arguably the most brilliant Comic Supporting Cast in Television History!😂🤣📺B.W.

@Armored Batman I have a Newhart channel. Just the origional show. One episode ends and the next begins with no commercials. Also, individual channels for all the classics like Love Boat, Bionic Woman, Beverly Hillbillies ect.... I think they come from the UK. Write me if interested in a complete list.
I was stunned to see Susanne in the Newhart finale. Probably the greatest finale ever.

I think Bob and Emily must have been modeled on that other sophisticated fictional couple--Nick and Nora Charles--witty, breezy and cool--a delight from any angle. Anybody agree? Updated to the 70's of course.
I love this show growing up. A lot of the time the bloopers are better than the real take.
Bill Daily. What can you say.?! So funny. He always seems to bend (down) over when starting every line. I guess that was his way to get in check.

He was shocked that a 30 year old gal knew who he was, and while non of my older coworkers seemed interested, I found him fascinating. We had all these A list celebs coming in, but I got excited to see Mr Carlin, lol. We'd chat for a bit every time he came in, he was so lovely.
Bill Daily (RIP) was the best. When I was in radio, to make a long story short, I accidentally got on his bad side. You haven’t been cussed out until you’ve been cussed out by Howard Borden/Roger Healy.

We have been watching the entire series on Prime and it is still so good. Bob is a genius.
They had 35mm color film running through three cameras. Mistakes could get expensive! Also, only ten minutes of film could be loaded into each camera. Mistakes required that the cameras be loaded more often.
I am now 54 and remember both NEWHART classic shows !! Suzanne Pleshette was STUNNING 4 sure !!

The absolute best ending to a sitcom ever was the ending of Newhart when Bob woke up in bed with Emily and it had been a dream all a dream.

The "William and Morey" blooper at 2:29 is from that episode, I believe. I agree, I wish there had been more outtakes from that episode.
Oftentimes when I see something associated with William and Mary Sports I think of the classic line "It was the worst defeat in William and Mary History!"😂🏈🏀B.W.

The thing that was great about this show is that these characters all seem like real Chicagoans. If you’re from Chicago, you know what I mean.
That's where Bob is from, he gets it. ;) and maybe that's why it always felt familiar.
I was too young to play “Hi Bob” in college…. It wasn’t on TV anymore by the time I got to college (after 6.5 years in the military)….
RULES FOR “HI BOB”
Everyone chugs a beer or slams a shot whenever anyone on screen says, “Hi Bob.”
There is no second rule, nobody makes it to the end of the show sober enough to remember a second rule….
We did that with the Big Lebowski, every time they said "dude" and I almost died, lol.
I read that Bob was a CPA. Clients would tell him that he was a naturally funny guy and he should go into show business.

Back in 1976 I was working at Beverly Hills S&L. One Saturday on my lunch break I was walking down Rodeo Dr. and in a 1 block section I saw Suzanne Plesette, Cloris Leachman and James Coburn (driving a Dino Ferrari). I remember how petite Ms. Plesette was and how striking beautiful Ms. Leachman was and how cool Mr. Coburn looked in that hot Ferrari.
It's a memory I'll never forget.

I liked this show when I was a kid. Suzanne Plechette was so amazing, then she went on to play Karen’s long lost Con-artist Mom on Will & Grace.
I went into mental health because I thought I, too, would one day have an apartment like that. Didn't exactly work out that way....quite the opposite,.
It was just a 2 bedroom rental in Edgewater, lol. Not expensive then or now, lol. I'm sure a therapist married to someone working, like she did, could swing it. 😂
There was a scene with Bob and Pat Finley eating at the table and Bob flips the salad fork and salad goes flying(think it was season 4??).. It was one blooper that was left in.. as its not included here..

Warden Gordon Bordon always cracks me up.
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE show..................I think Bill described it best when he said.....If you didnt get the jokes this show is not for you.....and most people didnt.......and its because..you had to think...to figure out the joke.Most people are lazy and dont want to. Thats why those jokes in other sitcoms are corny and have no substance. Good example "THE OFFICE" you really have to put on your thinking head.........(LOVE THAT SHOW )

It is interesting the different paths Bill Haley and Larry Hagman took after I Dream Of Jennie…..luck has a lot to do with it….but Larry we all can say took the better path….

This show was much better than the spinoff where he owned an inn. But I couldn't stand Howard, that dentist, and ditzy receptionist. Mr. Carlin was awesome though.
Ah, Jack Riley. He was a regular at the holistic chiro office where I worked for years. No one else seemed to know about this show but I did. He was shocked that someone who was only 30 greeted him with, "Mr Carlin!" and he was an absolute doll. We'd chat every time he came in.
But I disagree about the cast. They're all perfect counterparts to Bob. He's the straight man, he needs idiots. 😂

Surprisingly NOT funny.
40 Years Behind Schedule: I had to see these bloopers to find out that Susanne Pleshette was, in fact, not an AH. WHich means the writers for this show were AHs, creating her acerbic, off-putting, unwatchable character.
What's an AH and why are you unable to discern that she was written to reflect women at the time this aired? BTW, she's an actress. I think we all realize she's playing a character.

I miss the first Newhart show from the 70s. The second one wasn't nearly as good. Wish I could buy the entire 70s series.

Bob Newhart and Don rickles were best friends for years. Does anyone remember if Don Rickles ever appeared as a guest on the Bob Newhart show?
I don’t think so, but Rickles did appear on the Tonight Show once when Newhart was guest hosting. That was the day he broke Johnny Carson’s cigarette box.
