@@ResendeViana Pretty sure that was only about the ingame points, not SL and RP rewards. It wouldn't make sense to get the same amount anyway as it requires more to kill them.
Some useful groundpounding tips honed from years of pain and grind. 1. Blinking yellow ground targets deplete enemy tickets when destroyed. If you’re not helping out the fighters, at least be more useful and go for those. 2. Pop antimech orders because you’d likely be winning it. 3. Instead of rushing in, fly sideways and only advance to where the ground targets are when you see furballs develop 4. Land and J out when you see your team getting destroyed (Partly because you’re not helping). This happens really fast in top tier, so keep an eye out on the leaderboard. You’re unlikely to win or do any damage anyway and it saves repair costs. 5. Go for AA and artillery first, even if you can kill pillboxes. There’s a limited amount of ground units, and most planes can’t kill pillboxes. This will pay dividends when there’s one guy camping the af at the end of the match and fighters transition to groundpounders and compete for resources. 6. Finally, and most importantly, prepare a ballistic estimate in test flight with the guns. Like 300m vertical targeting on Mig15/17 (which imo is the best setting) will hit right at where the crosshair is if you fire at a ground target at around 0.6-0.8 km while not rolling. Knowing this lets you spend only one burst, and massively improves efficiency. Developing one for the aircraft you’re groundpounding with is very important. These are only groundpounding tips, and not general grinding tips. I’d add that attacking AI aircraft is very lucrative, and playing as a support fighter, if your aircraft allows it, is much more fun than groundpounding, even if it’s less efficient.
I've complained to the devs, at length, about the lack of a ballistics computer on half a dozen or so of the ground attack planes that absolutely SHOULD have one ....

You can activate it through the Y menu by first pressing 6 for cockpit and then I think it’s 5 or 6 again for switch target point and it will cycle a spi through the bases. If you want to bomb something that isn’t a base you need to place a spi with the activate target point keybind.

@@cavemanbonk8320 Once per day (each air + ground) is good for the boosters, especially without premium account. If the mission is won, the most common prize is a universal backup and a 300% booster for 1 game. For a free account that's 100%+300% = 4x payout in RP or SL. For premium account it's "only" 200%+300% = 2.5x payout - not THAT good. Use SL boosters on your best plane or lineup, RP boosters to help with painful stock grinds.
A cool paint job is always the key to victory, facts. I got the O Ni mask decal from pre ordering the AH-1S kisarazu and I put that on absolutely everything. It does the trick.
I found that occasionally Air Arcade Assault (the PvE mode) was pretty good for RP, since there is a lot of targets, I was able to grind out an upgrade in 2-3 missions (Assuming you are successful)
Yeah I'd agree but each PVE takes sooo much longer than a couple RB battles its insane. Plus you gotta have a good team because if you lose u get like 300 rp instead of 8k.
@@Scorchluck It's not the first win, you get a booster for the first game. If that's a win it's a big one (usually 300%) and a backup, on a loss it is no backup and a smaller booster depending on how quickly you lost (smallest I've seen was 50% for 1 game, common are 100 or 150). If you play again and win next time, there's no more booster or backup.

For me i recommend when flying a stock plane go for Players because if all the players are dead or running no chance of being interupted when ground pounding. And the tatic of "jumping" a player when they are in a dogfight always works.

@@DarthCody700 Bombing bases is really good but dogfights are a little less dependant on your plane's characteristics thus easier with no upgrades (Especially againts bots who just turnfight despite being worth a player kill). Don't groundpound it's a waste of time if you can outturn bots or sneak up on an unsuspecting player.
@@DarthCody700 I ground n pounded in my etendard as there are unlimited amount of ground targets and they automatically give you rockets stock I believe, so that made it much easier
Late response but you can kill AI planes (Destroy The Bombers/Attackers and Destroy Surveillance Aircraft objectives), groundpound (Destroy Enemy Convoy, also when soft and hard targets show up to push the frontline), or bomb targets (which respawn after a bit and are always on the same spots for the same match) OR airfields. If you see the capture objective, go for it, but you will be making yourself a target for enemy fighters so make sure your team has some presence first. Edit: Be opportunistic, I prefer flying high first, bomb, then see if I have to stay at alt for Surveillance or can just speed towards Bombers/attackers, or dive towards Convoys, or simply going back to reload if theres none going on.
as a so called "Prop Jockey" this was more helpful than you could ever imagine. Because I had no idea about what to do with the jets I grinded out by complete accident.
Grinding the F-100D and F-104 was a huge mess considering i got to that tier via groundpounding and average-level dogfighting and this is a good foundation to rebuild my skill from propellers to jet combat Also, if you mind, could you list the musics used in your videos? I'd love to hear them
I will say, when I grinder out the F-5E, I just played it as if it were top tier, and I was blown away by its performance. It was a fun little jet from stock (after getting flares) to the 9J’s and was prolly the most fun stock experience of mine in a while. (Most was done before the J-37C was added in)

Depends on the plane what I'll do. I generally switch to full fighter duty as soon as I feel I'm capable of being an asset in Air 2 Air. Winning games gives more points than losing, and any little bit I'm helping my team kill enemy players increases that chance for winning. OFC if its a strike jet or has a really good bombload like the f4c, then I might do multirole instead. For top tier planes, that switch comes as soon as I get good heat seekers. Examples of recent stock grinds: on the new mig23 MLD I only ground pounded until I got the r13m1's in tier 1 (and thank you gaijin for making it so quick) whereas the viggen I kept focusing on ground targets until I got the rb24J in tier 3. I really hope more newly added planes are like the EJ Kai, where their stock missiles are actually pretty good (x2 Aim9p in that case) or at least relatively painless like with the mig23MLD where you only need one upgrade to become relevant.
I do the same for all planes Hit ground targets or pillboxes if i have a brrt cannon And if someone comes for me i try to head on them and 50% i survive with a kill to get more ai targets Then when i unlock new rockets or bombs i go for tanks or bases After you get to a point where you can kill a base or two and get a few ground targets you will be earning a lot xp especially if you survive long enough and win
A good thing to practice for ALL PLANES IN GENERAL but high speed jets specifically is to not spam the zoom key. I can't tell you how many high speed deflection shots I've missed in the Phantom because brain reverts to tier 2 monke and I zoom in. Now I can't see the enemy if I try to lead properly, or can't lead properly if I want to continue seeing him. Not zooming in might mean harder to see the enemy, but harder to see is better than not seeing at all.
I would recommend always takeing out something with both air and ground capability even after it's been fully upgraded, then just make the decision to either hit bases/ground first or go full air to air, however it has to be made within the first 30 sec after takeoff

Thank you for the tips, personally I do not go farther than the first bomb loadout when stock grinding as it doesnt always mean for every plane a higher amount of ordinance and base killing power. Normally for top tiers you xan start engaging dogfights within the second missile loadout because they tend to be the manouverable dogfight missiles. But for the F4C its not very usefull in air combat without the AiM7C
I used the same method. However, gaijin have nerfad, in last update, the rp and sl gains in every ground units destroyed in air rb 😑. Assault arcade is too a good mode to upgrade the plane, if you have a nice gun to destroy the bombers. Good video dude! 👍
For those people that aren't confident taking a stock aircraft to air rb. Remember that you can grind out 2 or 3 early modules with a couple of games of air assault Arcade. At top tier it's rare for a team to lose and it's an easy 5-7500 RP every game. Just use the same aircraft the whole match. You will also earn a booster once per day. Which can assist the grind
This is how I grind: I ask the snail for a GE allowance...except the snail nerfs the economy instead and neglects bugs, overcompression + gaijin magic. 10 repaired suicides later, I pull out my wallet, and the snail makes things even more worse, then I put my wallet back in my pocket without spending a dime. It's only good for those who already reached the top tier jet with AAMs/bought their way up there at around lvl 3-1 XD (while exclaiming to have been playing since 2013, or came back after finishing all the way to top tier XDXDXD) dealing with the snail's GJBS and some kid whale BS from outta nowhere. This is my grind a wall at every turn and a little cherry picked BS on top. Stock grinder's reality. Great video btw : ) Love it, please make more !
I’ve been trying to spade everything in the British tree on and off for five years now, without premium, and I’m up to the first jets, so I’m no expert. But I usually at this stage go for performance upgrades and suffer through the painful stock Hispano struggle.
Especially useful for f2p players: play both air and tank assault arcade once a day regardless of what kind of vehicle you're researching. Though it varies with your team's performance, the boosters you get are like a second and third daily login booster, with varying quality, it's still better than nothing though. And if you're doing jets you get a little extra modification RP on the side. If you win in air assault it's quite a significant amount of RP. The only downside is that it takes quite a long time compared to regular matches.
TLDR: gaijin needs to fix high-tier assault because the br range is too wide, some info about ground assault maps & enemies, tip for the worst ground assault map, Sinai. If you play air assault in an early jet(6.7~8.0?) it's a pain because all the faster jets take the targets and you're stuck in the middle getting maybe 1 or 2 kills every wave... Gaijin needs to further split the assault br brackets. Ground assault is also a pain, because if you're going into top bracket with, say, a begleitpanzer, you can't kill anything from the front apart from sheridans and maybe leopard a1's. And I most cases, the targets are Soviet ERA slapping tanks like the t64b, t72, and even the t80u(how is bagel going to go through that from the front) so you need to aim your missiles very carefully and stay near cap to replenish missiles all the time, giving you little time to actually get into a position. It's even hard for top tier stock grinds, because almost all tanks are impenetrable from the front to heatfs, and a lot of them even have sides that are invincible(like the british challeys and soviets) so you barely get any kills, and you need at least 40 frags to get decent RP. Once you get apds, it's bliss, but none of that for any missile carriers.(don't EVER grind them in assault.) It's also terrible because most maps don't let you have any cover(exceptions would be Kursk and Fulda) so what you have to do is spawn in and get some shots off by spawn protection, die and repeat. If enemies have LOS to you, stay there because spawn protection goes away if you move, and you die anyways. The worst maps are Ardennes and Sinai. Ardennes is the the map with no chill spots(cover) at all, so if the enemy spawns from different angles you're gonna have to abuse spawn protection. It's also the map with a forest to the north that enemies snipe you through although you can't even spot them. Sinai is hell realized until you find the cheese spot. There is no cover aside from a few medium-sized rocks that cover you from very little, and buildings that the enemy shoots you through. You are on the liw ground as well, unlike Ardennes, so you can't even see some enemy hordes until they start shooting at you. The cheese spot pretty much makes Sinai one of the easiest maps, IF YOU CAN GET THERE. I have seen a challenger 2 get there, so it's not impossible for slower mbt's, but if you get an unlucky spawn at the start then you can't get there even in a leopard 1. The spot is the little passageway between two giant rock hills to the south. Go straight down, up a hill, into the narrow squeeze, get behind some rocks, and you'll be in cover. That us the best spot, and the enemy can't snipe you from afar unless you are firing at them. If you die, you have to wait until the end of a wave and try to rush when threeor two enemies are left. On rare occasions, there is team play, and the helis and tanks wait for the kill(and incapacitate it by shooting barrel and tracks) for other to replenish first-stage ammo or get into cheese positions. If you can get there, and can pen the enemies' sides, you will do fine in Sinai. Ardennes, does not have such spots, and you'll just have to abuse spawn protection.
For the Viggen (Which is extremely painful stock) kill ground targets to get countermeasures and rockets. With the rockets you can go after bombing targets or pillboxes to get all the missiles.
If I have time I like to do a quick arcade air and ground assault match, each of which will provide a booster. These days in jets it’s basically a lock to get a +300% booster no matter how well you do, and while ground might not be a sure win it still gives a decent booster when you lose.
An advice I give to new jet planes is safety over honor. If you are chasing a player and a friendly crit him, bail out as u are running away from a dangerous treat or "steal the kill" I constantly see new players refusing to steal the kill and believing the enemy is out of combat, then the enemy get in their 6 and kill them with a missile before dying
what I usually do is wait like 30sec or so at the airfield before lifting off, because 99/100 times I will die as one of the first people and that gives my team time to either take out most of the enemies, make those enemies easier to kill, or allows me to go off the side and do bombing runs without getting sniped by some 30g rocket from 10km away.
There is a neat little trick: After getting some RP; land, rearm, and takeoff. The RP you earned is now doubled (before multipliers, so its actually around +50%), this is a feature gaijin added to simulator battles to nerf bombers, that somehow carried on to RB.
If you have bombs/rockets to spare go for ships on maps that have them. Nobody ever goes for ships, so on top of whatever SL/RP they give you also get the Rogue Wave award.
I start with a nice paintjob and decals / userskin, then go into test-drive and try the acceleration, top speed (realistic speed) then rip-speed for all moduels, wings, landing gear, flaps etc. After that I start leading the guns on the AI in test drive, see if they work good and get the lead on jets. I usually go for player kills even when I'm new to the plane, once I get lets say missiles like AIM-9B's, I try to see if I can get kills on high altitude with a nation with bad radar/missiles, US phantoms can't shoot their radar missiles downward because of ground clutter and lack of Pulse Doppler, against the British or Japanese phantoms, it's a different story. I usually always, or mostly drive 20 degrees upwards and try to reach 6km alt when I'm in the middle of the map and if I can't see anything I get back to my team and help, on small maps I only climb 2.5 or 3km up and get high speeds to avoid getting jumped. When playing a nation that get mixed with the West or the East alot you need to know how some nations need or usually play. The Russians often use agresssive head-ons and dogfights with their MiG's. Their lack of 2+ radar missiles mean that their teams can get jumped by radar teams at high alt such as the US or Britain/Japan/Sweden etc. When playing with NATO countries you can expect some to climb and that can make your team quite empty at low alt when facing dogfighters and you lose quick. Stay low or Stay high is a hard choice so with NATO I can fly at a middle alt 3km or less and feel quite safe.
Btw for 1000lb bombs, 6 is enough for 1 base, so set ur bomb series to 2 and click 3 times per base. For the F-4E it gets times 11 1000lb bombs so you can get 2 bases, in which 5 bombs is enough for a base but it will not kill it instantly. (Side not, u cannot drop bombs in the F-4's over supersonic speeds)

a little bit of advice: when it comes to shooting ground targets... wait till the end of the match if ur in a fighter! try to get a few air kills then go for the ground targets at the end when there is only airfield campers left on the enemy team. this will help you win on tickets and you will grind much more efficiently if you get a few air kills as well!
@@kirbotastic9397 grinding the mig-27, it really helped to wait at the start of the match untill my team was about 2km in front of me. By the time you're at the AO, they were arounnd 9km in front of me and starting furballs. All enemies that pass through start turning around, which was perfect for me to shoot a stock missile op there ass :)
I find if you’re jet has a good bomb load you can grind out a modification every 2-3 games, for example the mig 27 I’m grinding out right now stock you can easily beeline a target bomb it then switch to vulture mode with the massive 30 mm and maybe get a kill or 2 off slow or tunnel visioned enemys
i would not recommend to go only for groundpounding but instead being a support to your team and stay away from the furball and just take the opportunist kills (not KS , it's not the same) , you'll learn more of your plane this way than just being low and pressing left mouse on AA
Grind the first set of bombs and just bomb bases. Don't grind rockets, or crap missiles first, get the bomb load, once you got a decent bomb load which is usually the first module, then go for missiles, then performance upgrades.
Gonna be honest, when I was stock grinding the AV8C I just used the Ballistics computer, you just kind of loiter away from combat for a bit then go in and get as many ground kills as possible. Edit: Sorry there was an add and I didn’t wanna retype this so I commented so I could skip it. Anyways, I did the same thing with the Su7, Mig21 SMT and 23M.

But i just got the mig 23m tried a few sim games but its really hard to do much there given f14s can just phoenix you from kms away and all you can do is wait for your death so should i just go air rb and ground pound despite all the all aspect missiles? Would really appreciate it if you could help a brother out
@@az8990 Alright, so what I do in the 23M, is I take 4 R60Ms and 2 R23Ts, use R23s for mid-long range and R60s for dogfights. What you want to do ideally is stay low, and in terrain, watch your RWR to spot targets and move it. If you get locked you’re going to have to notch, the Aim7s are way scarier than the Aim54s, if you get locked start looking for the bastard, if you can’t find him, turn around and go cold, and get low. In a tail chase you’re going to have to move left and right slowly in an S turn, enough to bleed the speed of the Missile. Aim54s do not care if you’re low or notching, so use chaff, but due to most people not knowing how to aim 54, I recommend believing every missile they shoot is an Aim7F. In my experience by the time I’ve made it to my first target, I’m swarmed and then Missile Thunder begins!🥴 In top tier jets I find I’ve gone through all 10 free repairs and only have 2-3 mods! Is this normal or is it because I really shit?!🙈

I feel that joining dogfights in the dogfighter planes (stuff like Mig-21, F-5E, Draken) would be better so that you know how the plane fights and because of them having the strategy of being the forefront of the team, you should learn endurance with them early
It's a really good plane. Upgrades make running from people more viable and easier. Just make sure to only carry 20 minutes of fuel. Otherwise you can't pull as hard and it makes aiming more difficult.
I spaded the F-104G by bombing bases. It's easier than with the F-4F because you can drop bombs at Mach 1+ but it's still kinda painful. Imagine playing a Vautour II that can't destroy bases in a single pass, and that's pretty much what it felt like until I got the 1000lbs loadout.
I use a joystick, I'm not that good and use 1st person view or cockpit view in RB (although often leave cockpit view in combat, as I found it a huge extra disadvantage). Using a mouse would be a lot easier but soooo duuuullll (and for me even less realistic). ...So hitting anything with guns is a challenge, especially in jets. What I do is, as you mention pound the ground and except that I'm not going to survive long for a lot of missions, a lot!. This is sooooo tedious and a real put-off flying warthunder but works for me (however I can just about tolerate it, for a while).
My guy. Draken is even worse now. Viggen cant be worse :( draken is pure 11 uptiers now. Nothing but r60 to the face on head ons aswell. Cant do anything :(

i like to at first get one bomb loadout then go to sim battles bomb bases for 2 matches by then i should have at least some decent missiles so i can either continue playing sim with missiles (depends if the missile i got is bad or not) or just go straight back to air rb edit: now that they give you stock missiles i would just go to sim grind the best missiles and then go back to air rb but usually i stick around in sim
My primary target during a stock grind is to go for the AI planes in AirRB. I think they give you more SL and RP than ground targets but I don't know if that is actually true.
More jets are getting a pair of AAMs as stock, which makes this process a little easier, and the rewards/economy have been tweaked a few times, but the general principles still work for the most part. I still use this method - ground, then hybrid, then air combat - to grind upgrades.

If you have a gun that can penetrate light pillboxes (like the F-4C) Go for them. It's better than going for AA.
And medium tanks too from the rear with the 20mm gantling gun

A-4 has CCRP though. I somewhat prefer this to CCIP for base bombing

@@cavemanbonk8320 Once per day (each air + ground) is good for the boosters, especially without premium account. If the mission is won, the most common prize is a universal backup and a 300% booster for 1 game. For a free account that's 100%+300% = 4x payout in RP or SL. For premium account it's "only" 200%+300% = 2.5x payout - not THAT good.
Use SL boosters on your best plane or lineup, RP boosters to help with painful stock grinds.

I found that occasionally Air Arcade Assault (the PvE mode) was pretty good for RP, since there is a lot of targets, I was able to grind out an upgrade in 2-3 missions (Assuming you are successful)
And 1st win of a day grants you a booster. Usually it's 300% rp, so you can have 2 more a day
If you lose you get 10% of the reward so enjoy that
Yeah I'd agree but each PVE takes sooo much longer than a couple RB battles its insane. Plus you gotta have a good team because if you lose u get like 300 rp instead of 8k.
@@Scorchluck It's not the first win, you get a booster for the first game. If that's a win it's a big one (usually 300%) and a backup, on a loss it is no backup and a smaller booster depending on how quickly you lost (smallest I've seen was 50% for 1 game, common are 100 or 150). If you play again and win next time, there's no more booster or backup.

For me i recommend when flying a stock plane go for Players because if all the players are dead or running no chance of being interupted when ground pounding.
And the tatic of "jumping" a player when they are in a dogfight always works.

I used simulator battles for the entendard as it has lackluster performance and found simulator battles was great for grinding rp

@@DarthCody700 Bombing bases is really good but dogfights are a little less dependant on your plane's characteristics thus easier with no upgrades (Especially againts bots who just turnfight despite being worth a player kill). Don't groundpound it's a waste of time if you can outturn bots or sneak up on an unsuspecting player.
@@DarthCody700 I ground n pounded in my etendard as there are unlimited amount of ground targets and they automatically give you rockets stock I believe, so that made it much easier
Late response but you can kill AI planes (Destroy The Bombers/Attackers and Destroy Surveillance Aircraft objectives), groundpound (Destroy Enemy Convoy, also when soft and hard targets show up to push the frontline), or bomb targets (which respawn after a bit and are always on the same spots for the same match) OR airfields. If you see the capture objective, go for it, but you will be making yourself a target for enemy fighters so make sure your team has some presence first.
Edit: Be opportunistic, I prefer flying high first, bomb, then see if I have to stay at alt for Surveillance or can just speed towards Bombers/attackers, or dive towards Convoys, or simply going back to reload if theres none going on.

Grinding the F-100D and F-104 was a huge mess considering i got to that tier via groundpounding and average-level dogfighting and this is a good foundation to rebuild my skill from propellers to jet combat

I will say, when I grinder out the F-5E, I just played it as if it were top tier, and I was blown away by its performance. It was a fun little jet from stock (after getting flares) to the 9J’s and was prolly the most fun stock experience of mine in a while. (Most was done before the J-37C was added in)

Depends on the plane what I'll do. I generally switch to full fighter duty as soon as I feel I'm capable of being an asset in Air 2 Air. Winning games gives more points than losing, and any little bit I'm helping my team kill enemy players increases that chance for winning. OFC if its a strike jet or has a really good bombload like the f4c, then I might do multirole instead. For top tier planes, that switch comes as soon as I get good heat seekers. Examples of recent stock grinds: on the new mig23 MLD I only ground pounded until I got the r13m1's in tier 1 (and thank you gaijin for making it so quick) whereas the viggen I kept focusing on ground targets until I got the rb24J in tier 3. I really hope more newly added planes are like the EJ Kai, where their stock missiles are actually pretty good (x2 Aim9p in that case) or at least relatively painless like with the mig23MLD where you only need one upgrade to become relevant.

Hit ground targets or pillboxes if i have a brrt cannon
And if someone comes for me i try to head on them and 50% i survive with a kill to get more ai targets
Then when i unlock new rockets or bombs i go for tanks or bases
After you get to a point where you can kill a base or two and get a few ground targets you will be earning a lot xp especially if you survive long enough and win

A good thing to practice for ALL PLANES IN GENERAL but high speed jets specifically is to not spam the zoom key. I can't tell you how many high speed deflection shots I've missed in the Phantom because brain reverts to tier 2 monke and I zoom in. Now I can't see the enemy if I try to lead properly, or can't lead properly if I want to continue seeing him. Not zooming in might mean harder to see the enemy, but harder to see is better than not seeing at all.

I would recommend always takeing out something with both air and ground capability even after it's been fully upgraded, then just make the decision to either hit bases/ground first or go full air to air, however it has to be made within the first 30 sec after takeoff

Thank you for the tips, personally I do not go farther than the first bomb loadout when stock grinding as it doesnt always mean for every plane a higher amount of ordinance and base killing power. Normally for top tiers you xan start engaging dogfights within the second missile loadout because they tend to be the manouverable dogfight missiles. But for the F4C its not very usefull in air combat without the AiM7C
I used the same method. However, gaijin have nerfad, in last update, the rp and sl gains in every ground units destroyed in air rb 😑. Assault arcade is too a good mode to upgrade the plane, if you have a nice gun to destroy the bombers. Good video dude! 👍
For those people that aren't confident taking a stock aircraft to air rb. Remember that you can grind out 2 or 3 early modules with a couple of games of air assault Arcade.
At top tier it's rare for a team to lose and it's an easy 5-7500 RP every game. Just use the same aircraft the whole match. You will also earn a booster once per day. Which can assist the grind
This is how I grind: I ask the snail for a GE allowance...except the snail nerfs the economy instead and neglects bugs, overcompression + gaijin magic. 10 repaired suicides later, I pull out my wallet, and the snail makes things even more worse, then I put my wallet back in my pocket without spending a dime. It's only good for those who already reached the top tier jet with AAMs/bought their way up there at around lvl 3-1 XD (while exclaiming to have been playing since 2013, or came back after finishing all the way to top tier XDXDXD) dealing with the snail's GJBS and some kid whale BS from outta nowhere. This is my grind a wall at every turn and a little cherry picked BS on top. Stock grinder's reality. Great video btw : ) Love it, please make more !
I’ve been trying to spade everything in the British tree on and off for five years now, without premium, and I’m up to the first jets, so I’m no expert. But I usually at this stage go for performance upgrades and suffer through the painful stock Hispano struggle.
fyi gaijin broke the sea jesus and now it's wings fall off at 850 km/h so just go for guns on that one.

I love the OG Mega Man tunes ^_^ Brings childhood memories.
Especially useful for f2p players: play both air and tank assault arcade once a day regardless of what kind of vehicle you're researching. Though it varies with your team's performance, the boosters you get are like a second and third daily login booster, with varying quality, it's still better than nothing though. And if you're doing jets you get a little extra modification RP on the side. If you win in air assault it's quite a significant amount of RP. The only downside is that it takes quite a long time compared to regular matches.
Air arcade in top tier jets (9.0+) is esy cous its balanced for 6.7 just look that you dont die to often
TLDR: gaijin needs to fix high-tier assault because the br range is too wide, some info about ground assault maps & enemies, tip for the worst ground assault map, Sinai.
If you play air assault in an early jet(6.7~8.0?) it's a pain because all the faster jets take the targets and you're stuck in the middle getting maybe 1 or 2 kills every wave...
Gaijin needs to further split the assault br brackets. Ground assault is also a pain, because if you're going into top bracket with, say, a begleitpanzer, you can't kill anything from the front apart from sheridans and maybe leopard a1's. And I most cases, the targets are Soviet ERA slapping tanks like the t64b, t72, and even the t80u(how is bagel going to go through that from the front) so you need to aim your missiles very carefully and stay near cap to replenish missiles all the time, giving you little time to actually get into a position. It's even hard for top tier stock grinds, because almost all tanks are impenetrable from the front to heatfs, and a lot of them even have sides that are invincible(like the british challeys and soviets) so you barely get any kills, and you need at least 40 frags to get decent RP. Once you get apds, it's bliss, but none of that for any missile carriers.(don't EVER grind them in assault.) It's also terrible because most maps don't let you have any cover(exceptions would be Kursk and Fulda) so what you have to do is spawn in and get some shots off by spawn protection, die and repeat. If enemies have LOS to you, stay there because spawn protection goes away if you move, and you die anyways. The worst maps are Ardennes and Sinai. Ardennes is the the map with no chill spots(cover) at all, so if the enemy spawns from different angles you're gonna have to abuse spawn protection. It's also the map with a forest to the north that enemies snipe you through although you can't even spot them. Sinai is hell realized until you find the cheese spot. There is no cover aside from a few medium-sized rocks that cover you from very little, and buildings that the enemy shoots you through. You are on the liw ground as well, unlike Ardennes, so you can't even see some enemy hordes until they start shooting at you. The cheese spot pretty much makes Sinai one of the easiest maps, IF YOU CAN GET THERE. I have seen a challenger 2 get there, so it's not impossible for slower mbt's, but if you get an unlucky spawn at the start then you can't get there even in a leopard 1. The spot is the little passageway between two giant rock hills to the south. Go straight down, up a hill, into the narrow squeeze, get behind some rocks, and you'll be in cover. That us the best spot, and the enemy can't snipe you from afar unless you are firing at them. If you die, you have to wait until the end of a wave and try to rush when threeor two enemies are left. On rare occasions, there is team play, and the helis and tanks wait for the kill(and incapacitate it by shooting barrel and tracks) for other to replenish first-stage ammo or get into cheese positions. If you can get there, and can pen the enemies' sides, you will do fine in Sinai. Ardennes, does not have such spots, and you'll just have to abuse spawn protection.
For the Viggen (Which is extremely painful stock) kill ground targets to get countermeasures and rockets. With the rockets you can go after bombing targets or pillboxes to get all the missiles.
Finally. Someone who appreciates that looking good is half the battle.....
If I have time I like to do a quick arcade air and ground assault match, each of which will provide a booster. These days in jets it’s basically a lock to get a +300% booster no matter how well you do, and while ground might not be a sure win it still gives a decent booster when you lose.

Get at least one player frag... Then just survive

An advice I give to new jet planes is safety over honor.
If you are chasing a player and a friendly crit him, bail out as u are running away from a dangerous treat or "steal the kill"
I constantly see new players refusing to steal the kill and believing the enemy is out of combat, then the enemy get in their 6 and kill them with a missile before dying
what I usually do is wait like 30sec or so at the airfield before lifting off, because 99/100 times I will die as one of the first people and that gives my team time to either take out most of the enemies, make those enemies easier to kill, or allows me to go off the side and do bombing runs without getting sniped by some 30g rocket from 10km away.

I've been using assault to grind modules. Maybe it's lame, but it's fast, at 2-3 matches for most modules in the F-105D, depending on win/loss.
There is a neat little trick: After getting some RP; land, rearm, and takeoff. The RP you earned is now doubled (before multipliers, so its actually around +50%), this is a feature gaijin added to simulator battles to nerf bombers, that somehow carried on to RB.
I think you are right. If I did 3 bombing runs in my Su7bmk returning to base 3 times I would get 40k rp, super good
If you happen to love stock grinding, try the mig19s, or as my friend calls it “the eternal missile grind”

If you have bombs/rockets to spare go for ships on maps that have them. Nobody ever goes for ships, so on top of whatever SL/RP they give you also get the Rogue Wave award.
I start with a nice paintjob and decals / userskin, then go into test-drive and try the acceleration, top speed (realistic speed) then rip-speed for all moduels, wings, landing gear, flaps etc.
After that I start leading the guns on the AI in test drive, see if they work good and get the lead on jets.
I usually go for player kills even when I'm new to the plane, once I get lets say missiles like AIM-9B's, I try to see if I can get kills on high altitude with a nation with bad radar/missiles, US phantoms can't shoot their radar missiles downward because of ground clutter and lack of Pulse Doppler, against the British or Japanese phantoms, it's a different story. I usually always, or mostly drive 20 degrees upwards and try to reach 6km alt when I'm in the middle of the map and if I can't see anything I get back to my team and help, on small maps I only climb 2.5 or 3km up and get high speeds to avoid getting jumped.
When playing a nation that get mixed with the West or the East alot you need to know how some nations need or usually play. The Russians often use agresssive head-ons and dogfights with their MiG's. Their lack of 2+ radar missiles mean that their teams can get jumped by radar teams at high alt such as the US or Britain/Japan/Sweden etc. When playing with NATO countries you can expect some to climb and that can make your team quite empty at low alt when facing dogfighters and you lose quick. Stay low or Stay high is a hard choice so with NATO I can fly at a middle alt 3km or less and feel quite safe.
Btw for 1000lb bombs, 6 is enough for 1 base, so set ur bomb series to 2 and click 3 times per base. For the F-4E it gets times 11 1000lb bombs so you can get 2 bases, in which 5 bombs is enough for a base but it will not kill it instantly. (Side not, u cannot drop bombs in the F-4's over supersonic speeds)

a little bit of advice: when it comes to shooting ground targets... wait till the end of the match if ur in a fighter! try to get a few air kills then go for the ground targets at the end when there is only airfield campers left on the enemy team. this will help you win on tickets and you will grind much more efficiently if you get a few air kills as well!
"Few air kills" are a big challenge personally when stock, si I guess you ha e to wait for the furball to form and then dive in?
@@kirbotastic9397 grinding the mig-27, it really helped to wait at the start of the match untill my team was about 2km in front of me. By the time you're at the AO, they were arounnd 9km in front of me and starting furballs. All enemies that pass through start turning around, which was perfect for me to shoot a stock missile op there ass :)
I find if you’re jet has a good bomb load you can grind out a modification every 2-3 games, for example the mig 27 I’m grinding out right now stock you can easily beeline a target bomb it then switch to vulture mode with the massive 30 mm and maybe get a kill or 2 off slow or tunnel visioned enemys
i would not recommend to go only for groundpounding but instead being a support to your team and stay away from the furball and just take the opportunist kills (not KS , it's not the same) , you'll learn more of your plane this way than just being low and pressing left mouse on AA

Grind the first set of bombs and just bomb bases.
Don't grind rockets, or crap missiles first, get the bomb load, once you got a decent bomb load which is usually the first module, then go for missiles, then performance upgrades.
Gonna be honest, when I was stock grinding the AV8C I just used the Ballistics computer, you just kind of loiter away from combat for a bit then go in and get as many ground kills as possible.

But i just got the mig 23m tried a few sim games but its really hard to do much there given f14s can just phoenix you from kms away and all you can do is wait for your death so should i just go air rb and ground pound despite all the all aspect missiles? Would really appreciate it if you could help a brother out
@@az8990 Alright, so what I do in the 23M, is I take 4 R60Ms and 2 R23Ts, use R23s for mid-long range and R60s for dogfights. What you want to do ideally is stay low, and in terrain, watch your RWR to spot targets and move it. If you get locked you’re going to have to notch, the Aim7s are way scarier than the Aim54s, if you get locked start looking for the bastard, if you can’t find him, turn around and go cold, and get low. In a tail chase you’re going to have to move left and right slowly in an S turn, enough to bleed the speed of the Missile. Aim54s do not care if you’re low or notching, so use chaff, but due to most people not knowing how to aim 54, I recommend believing every missile they shoot is an Aim7F. @@hiphip4808 that information is quite useful but i still havent even gotten my 12 flares so idk how should i grind. Rb or sim. Rb is just a clusterfuck of aim9ls that i wont be able to do much ground pounding in realistically so would you recommend going for sim then?

I feel that joining dogfights in the dogfighter planes (stuff like Mig-21, F-5E, Draken) would be better so that you know how the plane fights and because of them having the strategy of being the forefront of the team, you should learn endurance with them early
With the heavier planes (F-4s, Mig-23s) bombing is probably the best bet just because they're way harder to dogfight with stock

Started stock grinding the German F-104G the other day. Just played it normally since the plane doesn’t really get much better with upgrades :P
It's a really good plane. Upgrades make running from people more viable and easier. Just make sure to only carry 20 minutes of fuel. Otherwise you can't pull as hard and it makes aiming more difficult.

F4C br change makes it bearable
I spaded the F-104G by bombing bases. It's easier than with the F-4F because you can drop bombs at Mach 1+ but it's still kinda painful.
Imagine playing a Vautour II that can't destroy bases in a single pass, and that's pretty much what it felt like until I got the 1000lbs loadout.
Im trying to spade the stock mig-9 chinese and russian variants, killing ground targets seem to be the fastest way because dogfights tend to drag out.
I use a joystick, I'm not that good and use 1st person view or cockpit view in RB (although often leave cockpit view in combat, as I found it a huge extra disadvantage). Using a mouse would be a lot easier but soooo duuuullll (and for me even less realistic). ...So hitting anything with guns is a challenge, especially in jets. What I do is, as you mention pound the ground and except that I'm not going to survive long for a lot of missions, a lot!. This is sooooo tedious and a real put-off flying warthunder but works for me (however I can just about tolerate it, for a while).

i like to at first get one bomb loadout then go to sim battles bomb bases for 2 matches by then i should have at least some decent missiles so i can either continue playing sim with missiles (depends if the missile i got is bad or not) or just go straight back to air rb
edit: now that they give you stock missiles i would just go to sim grind the best missiles and then go back to air rb but usually i stick around in sim
My primary target during a stock grind is to go for the AI planes in AirRB. I think they give you more SL and RP than ground targets but I don't know if that is actually true.

More jets are getting a pair of AAMs as stock, which makes this process a little easier, and the rewards/economy have been tweaked a few times, but the general principles still work for the most part. I still use this method - ground, then hybrid, then air combat - to grind upgrades.
