Thank you so much for this video. You have no idea how much this helps me. I grew up a fanatic of Florida State secretly, I loved everything about it. I loved its football, the culture, Tallahassee, and just everything. The thought of being in Tallahassee as a student motivated me so much, I was so so excited. I visited last May and absolutely loved it. I waited and waited for the APPLICATION to come out. The first day, I spent so much time filling out information and TO THIS DAY I still believe that I wrote the BEST essay ever for them. I waited and waited for Jan 31st, and I was so eager and excited. When I saw the words, "We regret to inform you...." I was devastated. It's been over a month and it's been troubling me. I start going to UCF in the summer and I really wanna transfer to FSU. I feel motivated and I'm stubborn as shit - I want to reach my goals and I just gotta trust the process. I feel lost sometimes when I think about it. Thank you so much for this video. It helped me a lot.
holy crap this came at the perfect time! I was rejected from USC's film school 2 weeks ago and I'm still devastated about it and having a hard time hyping myself up for the other schools i got into since USC was my dream school. This video really put things into perspective for me and was really comforting. USC's acceptances were crazy hard this year!
Love this! I know so many people whose first choice is USC Film School (myself included), but they end up getting accepted somewhere else that ends up being equally as good -- if not better -- than whatever it is that they wanted from USC. Great words of wisdom for everyone struggling with this! Thanks for the great content :)
@@paceyhansen great! I'm happy to hear that. I'm Brazilian, looking for a MFA in Screenwriting. I'll take a look at FSU. Many times the "top" schools have just a top fame.
I got rejected from USC's SCA as well, and will be heading to NYU Tisch's undergraduate screenwriting program this coming fall. I'm still a bit bitter about it and am having trouble getting excited about NYU--I hope I will be able to shed the pessimistic attitude I have right now towards NYU and develop a more realistic, openminded one. I know this is an old(ish) video, but you mentioned that you decided not to transfer from NYU to USC; if someone has a preference fro the 'commercial' side of the film industry rather than for the more independent side of it, would you recommend transferring? Or would you say that NYU students still get adequate instruction on that side of the industry as well as opportunities to interact with it? And was it easy to adjust to the kind of 'open campus' that NYU has (which seems very different from the traditional campus of USC)? Thanks.
I get accepted by my dream school , but at that moment my parents wasn't financially stable enough to support me, i am a international student at my dream school so i have to pay higher price for the international price tag.

Thank you for sharing! I'm Brazilian. Why does everybody want to study cinema in the USC?
Rejected from USC for film production after getting an interview. Heartbroken 😞 is it worth it to try and appeal?
How are you now? Working in the film/TV industry?
@@marlanoronha4065 went to FSU film school and it was the best decision ever. Much better than the “top” schools

Hi! I know this is an old comment. What did you end up doing?
Loved this video so much.
Gurl, lucky u, NYU is my dream school, and it still is, but I couldn’t make it simply cuz I was in Europe and I didn’t do SAT.
