Im no admission officer but a advice that I got from my college counselor is that… “GPA and SAT are for scholarships and to get college to notice you, they play a major role, but your Essay and Extracurriculars are what helps them choose between you and the other applicants.”
OMGGG YOU’RE GIVING ME HOPE IM GOING TO BE A RISING SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL AND I HAVE A 3.7 GPA😆. IK STATS AREN’T EVERYTHING BUT IT’S GIVING ME CONFIDENCE THAT I THINK I HAVE A CHANCE
Your unweighted GPA is about the same as mine, but you must have taken a nice workload of APs and Honors. My weighted GPA is about a 3.88 but that's because my school only offers I can only take at most 2 APs per year during my upperclassmen years bc of prerequisites, and I got a B in Algebra I in 8th grade, and instead of having 3.9 in Freshmen year, I had a 3.7, so it's nice to know that I have a chance to still get into USC with my scores and my extracurriculars, especially since I've been going about my main one since elementary school. I'm also becoming a better writer, and I'm becoming so much more hopeful for when I apply this fall
It’s depends on how the school weight the classes. My school valedictorians GPA’s are 4.44 (the highest) and that’s because they weight a semester of honors 0.02. For me I took Honors Microbiology this year (Junior) and will take General Psychology (Dual enroll) during the summer. Also I’m taking Honors/AP Chem II and Honors/AP Gov and dual enroll in English 4 Technical writing. Also I’m taking Trig/Analytic Geometry which is considered Honors in many school. The highest GPA I can get is 4.1 which means then jump is 0.1 while having a 4.0 weighted GPA. But if I were in other school, I might have 4.3 or 4.4 weighted or even higher
Hi, I am a high school senior and have 4.14 weighted GPA and 3.86 unweighted GPA. Does anyone know or think if this is a good enough or safe GPA for USC? You guys can be very honest. I am going through college apps rn and I really need serious advice or feedback not a sweet comment :') (oh bty I am a California resident)
girl i thought you were gunna give me hope by that title. But your stats are woah I was hoping you would’ve said lime a weighted of 3.1 because that’s why mine is lol
My dad is gonna think I’m kinda dump because he got a 800 in math and 620 in language arts. I’m probably gonna score a 1200 or something I’m so nervous please and help
Really no question here. This girl was Student Council President, Editor and Chief of school newspaper, and leadership role on robotics team. Plus a weighted GPA of 4.5+??? I look forward to voting for you as President of The United States. Please run.
Hey I'm an international student wanting to apply for my masters (I'm currently doing my bachelors), so does most of what you said apply for the masters admissions as well?
I think you still do. Aside from all the scores concerning how good you are at taking tests I think extracurricular and your essays will really boost your application
The competition isn’t so much with scores anymore since a lot of applicants have good scores. I think they look at your essays more now to really see your personality and ambitions and that’s where there’s the competition

Hello, great video! I wanna just ask is there an architectural engineering major at USC? Thank You!
I am not too sure. I think they have civil engineering but you might want to fact check that on the website
Did you have to submit a letter of recommendation?
Yes I needed 2
very helpful!!
Wait so would u say that it’s not that competitive, sort of average competition?
The competition isn’t so much with scores anymore since a lot of applicants have good scores. I think they look at your essays more now to really see your personality and ambitions and that’s where there’s the competition
amo el video, btw yo también quiero estudiar arquitectura en usc
Wait I am an international student too planning to apply to USC.. you got no aid at all? I thought since it was a private it would be need based
International students get 0 need based aid. You can get mitt based scholarships but not financial aid
Does usc count freshman grades for the admission? if you know even if youre international.
I am not sure how heavily they look at it but they do ask for your full high school transcript which includes freshman year
Last two years of high school are partitioned for GPA
Did you apply your senior year? if so, what semester?
I believe the the application was due in November so I applied in the fall semester of my senior year
im sorry but idk in what world, these stats arent low
nice vid tho and congrats!!!
what country are you from and what was your rank ? if you dont mind me asking
I’m from The Bahamas. Do you mean class rank? I do not know it, we didn’t have that in my highschool

Did you get a full ride? Any scholarships did they provide?
I did not get a full ride. I got a little help from USC but majority of the scholarships I got were outside scholarships
NAEDAY where would u recommend looking into for outside scholarships?
Omg I got a change once I heard you’re unweighted gpa 😭
Portfolio?

Your accent sound like a island girl 😏and i'm 100% sure that you are from: dominica 🇩🇲 😉 anyway love your video 😇
I’m actually Bahamian🇧🇸 and Trinidadian🇹🇹, but my roommate in high school was from Dominica 🇩🇲and I definitely picked up some stuff from her accent
Oooh 😅okay
girl why is your hand flying everywhere??
Cause I’m black
Affirmative action
I don't know how admissions work here but California banned Affirmative action
USC Maintains Affirmative Action policy, as a private school.
Tip:
USC is looking for Leadership in their students.
Nahh your just inferior Sanchez
Trying is all it takes.
Wait I am an international student too planning to apply to USC.. you got no aid at all? I thought since it was a private it would be need based
I live in the UK and I’m interested in applying to USC but I still have until December to apply 😳
