I just got rejected from USC's film school 2 weeks ago and am still devastated but this video really helped put things into perspective for me and hopefully I can transfer in like you did. You are proof that it is possible! Thanks for making this video
usc has been my dream college since its my backyard college. Left for the military for 8 yrs and now finishing my associates in crimimal justice. I totally agree i did crap work in high school and now that its my second time around i got my shit down. ASU has been on my radar as well of colleges to go to. Seeing they have alot of cultural studies in Native American. I would like to think that its never too late to go to your dream college as long as you keep trying0
Taking your prerequisites at a safety school is such a smart decision. I’m honestly glad I was rejected and had the opportunity to see what I actually wanted out of my major.
Not to sound like a stalker but which college are you going to. I’m doing the same. (Attending my safety school for one year then transferring to USC for my sophomore year), but I need to know what courses I need to take in order to get to the requirement of 30 semester credits.
I'm going to be a freshman at community college in California and I wanna transfer to USC after my first 2 years. I want to make my transfer as easy as possible and in order to do that I should probably be in touch with a counselor at USC. How did you get connected to your counselor at USC? Thanks for the tips!
Tommy Ik but now I’m going to community college for a year and transferring . Because if I did go to Arizona, I would take the money out of my mom’s retirement account and I don’t want that.
What type of community service did you do and what if I maintain that high gpa and get the 30 credits can I choose to not submit my Sat and Act? Congrats on getting in by the way
Nothing out of the ordinary I believe in one of my essays I talked about my community service with candlelighters. If you have over 30 credits you don’t have to send any standardized test scores but if you have less than 30 you can still decide which scores to send.
Were you constantly in contact with your counselor before submitting and getting accepted into usc? Im currently attending community college as well and I was granted an admission to chapman university (private school), i'm not sure if USC is more willing to accept students from four year universities rather than community college.
itslins about 5-7 times over a period of a couple months. A lot of people transfer from everywhere but most community college transfers come from schools in California. Every application and situation is unique.
I just got rejected to usc, if I don't get into university of Maryland, then im going to community college for a year then transfer to usc for my junior year......
so this video might not be relatable for me in the context of that i’m trying to do the same to get to FSU, but this inspired me since our stats are similar, i’ll reply to this comment what happened and hopefully I can say that i’m a Nole after first getting rejected. THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION DAWG 😩😩
Yo wat sup ^^, I will apply for USC for sophomore Transfer 2018. If you have time, please rep this comment cuz I really need your advice and help through my application (especially the essay) since I had been rejected by USC in my senior year too :(((
Shane Mendoza You don’t goto elite schools like usc, Berkeley, ucla just for the education. It’s the connections too. You can be stupid with terrible grades but if you graduated from an Ivy League then you will have doors open to you, especially in Wall Street, that a state school wouldn’t give. Usc has a very strong presence in LA. There’s even a saying at usc where Trojans will always hire Trojans. My cousin got into a top law firm in la because of usc. There were only three spots and two of them went to a usc student. The third spot was a ucla student. Obviously if usc turns out expensive then don’t go. Ucla would be a better option.
@@Justin-ev8nn I'm currently a student at UCSD lol. I have all job opportunities/internship opportunities and graduate placement the same as USC, UCLA, Berkeley, UCSB, etc. More matters about how you do in college my guy. If you get a 3.0 gpa, then you aren't going to amount to much.
Shane Mendoza Tell that to the kids who are getting into Wall Street because of their school and parents. UCSD is a great school especially for stem . People who goto usc and do exceptionally well post college are those who want to pursue business/film. Marshall is one of the best business schools and that’s because of our connections to many wealthy people and companies located here in LA. Gpa is important but even that value diminishes overtime. What’s important is experience and connections and elite schools like usc, la, Berkeley have that for their students. I’ve seen people with low gpa land good jobs at Fortune 500 companies simply because their frat bros dad hooked them up. My point is that I don’t agree with what you said about “same education.” UCSD is better than usc at stem but if you’re going into business then usc/Berkeley is a no-brainer.
Marcus makes some awesome points! If you want the view of 3 different students on transferring watch this vid: th-cam.com/video/P0gBeNVWUZI/w-d-xo.html
Would you mind sharing what your application essay sounded like? I'm trying to transfer to USC after 2 years of attending CSUDH and I need as much help as I can get
I was so confused for the SAT portion then I realized oh it's the old one

USC has a website where you find your admission counselor based on your location
I got rejected from from USC for fall of 2019 and I’m thinking about going to University Of Arizona and thinking of transferring :(
Taylor Nicole Marvel unless you get good financial aid that sounds like a terrible plan financially
Tommy Ik but now I’m going to community college for a year and transferring . Because if I did go to Arizona, I would take the money out of my mom’s retirement account and I don’t want that.
Taylor Nicole Marvel how is year transferring plan going, I will enter community college this summer
i am thinking of doing the same but transferring to USC from Texas State University
wow, that’s amazing. I’m currently at a community college in Dallas and plan to transfer to a university in the spring of 2019
How did it go
did you reuse your old supplements from your first application? or write new ones for transferring?
What type of community service did you do and what if I maintain that high gpa and get the 30 credits can I choose to not submit my Sat and Act? Congrats on getting in by the way

How were the housing options like for transfers, both on campus and off campus ?
Hi

Hi how were the financial aid opportunities for transfer students at USC?

What was your freshman schedule and did your AP scores transfer into your transcript?
I just got rejected to usc, if I don't get into university of Maryland, then im going to community college for a year then transfer to usc for my junior year......
Does USC care about which college you transfer from? Or can it be any college anywhere in the states?
If I am a freshmen rn in my fall quarter can I still apply even though I only have a quarter under my belt?
How did you find an adviser at USC to email?
Google “Find your USC admission counselor”
+Marcus Hammonds thanks so much!
After 3:30 it sound like a whole ass commercial😹 but congrats🙌🏾

Did you do any extra circular activities in high school or ASU?
Jasdeep Singh I did speech and debate along with some others in high school and at ASU I participated in one club for computer information systems
Marcus Hammonds, thank you so much for the reply, but did you take any leadership roles in those clubs?
Jasdeep Singh nope mainly just a member

No problem, you can contact me through any of my social media accounts and ask any question
How did you get a USC counselor before getting admitted there? I plan on applying as a sophomore transfer this February and want to be prepared!
go to their website and you can search for your counselor based off of your school
"procrastinated garbage" hahaha you are so funny
Should have just went to UCLA, UCSB, or Berkeley. Way better education and way cheaper lol.

Bro should've continued the hustle.
Go to NC A&T
When did you start the application process in your freshman year?
Good thing I don’t really delete emails, I started my application process Sept 10 and submitted it Nov 2.
I just got rejected from USC last week
Just grind away wherever you enrol. I transfered in after a year.
How is the diversity at usc
5% black. But things are what you make of them: look up Joi Wade on here, she goes to USC and is very involved :)
how is a 1600 trash???
that's a perfect score
He took the old version, which is out of 2400
Andreas Christodoulou ohhhh
My exact reaction
