Just thought I’d comment that I got rejected by USC about a month ago, and it was absolutely gut-wrenching. But I submitted my appeal letter about two weeks ago (after watching this video) and just received my admission letter for the Fall 2020 semester! Long story short, I know it’s been two years since you’ve posted this, but it is still so incredibly helpful. So thank you for sharing, because you just helped me get into my dream school! Very grateful, and hope life is treating you well ✌️
@@nicholasjohansen2279 i just gave them a few updates that i never sent and emphasized why these updates make me a great candidatd ,,, and i also expressed my desire to attend
thank you for making this video! I am working on my appeal right now. When I first received my rejection letter I felt so many emotions-anger and sadness, and I want to be able to write a strong letter without letting my emotions get the best of me but also channel those emotions into the letter at the same time. Also I've been looking into the other schools I got into and hyping myself up with my second choice college and the more I do so the less I want to write the appeal.
I wanted to comment since this video was extremely helpful for me. I was denied admission for transfer in late May and your video helped me write an appeal letter. 2 weeks ago, my appeal was overturned and I will be attending USC starting this fall. Thank you so much for this video. FIGHT ON! ✌🏻
hey! can I dm you on instagram and discuss this some more? I applied to usc as a transfer and got rejected but would like to consider appealing. please let me know!
Hey! I submitted my appeal letter for the University of Florida about a week ago, and just watched this video! I love the tone of your letter, and honestly, I have the same mindset going into college. I’m passionate and drown myself in extracurriculars, which limits my grade scores below their standards. I’m hoping for a good response, and that they’ll let me in. It’s my dream, so all I can really say is thank you for sharing yours, it makes me feel like I have a better chance of mine too.
thanks buddy! your video is really helpful! i just got rejected by GWU, since i was dreamed to get into the Elliot international relations college at GWU, i'll take your advices, and try to strive for it!
hey man I love this story im going into highschool next year and im decading those 4 years into getting into there film school im going through the same thing you went through I hope I get in since film is my dream this really inspired me to do my best.
True. It's a wasted opportunity. I'm currently in the A level system which is possibly even more stressful than the college process itself, as everything is in a literal time crunch (a lot shorter than college deadlines and the same equivalent, all advanced classes). I wanted to drop out, but I understand that it's better for my future and see the bigger picture behind it. A little stress now pays off for me later in life. This pissed me off so much lol.
Hey I got rejected too, and although I don't have new information about my GPA or new awards recieved, I do have a lot to say about the unique challenges that I've faced. I also didn't mention a personal issue in my application which affected my grades, so do you think involving all of this would give me a chance? Thanks for the help :)
Congratulations! I got waitlisted from UNC Chapel Hill and now I'm waiting to hear back - hope I get accepted! By the way, who do you send your LOCI to? Would it be my personal contact whose name is shown in my application portal?
Only advice I think I can give is to be 100% your unapologetic self and let them know why they made a mistake. They get tons of applications so if you show them who you are through your appeal, then it's gonna help make you stand out. Hope that helps, good luck!
brain rose I got an email Thursday evening that my appeal was a success! I got so shocked that I couldn’t believe it at first. I’m admitted for spring 2020 though so I would be starting in January. But I guess it goes to show that miracles do happen! Thanks for your positivity!
Isaac The Gray I don't know much about cal state, I just know that finding where you belong is far more important than the reputation of the schools. Best of luck!
Hi Brian, I am in a very similar situation. Today was the official day that USC sent out their admissions decisions and just like you, I was decline. USC has been my one and only goal my entire life and just like you I am not rocket scientist but just a small town kid who strives to change the world through filmmaking. I am writing to you to see if we could talk about what and how I should write my appeal. I understand you are definately busy with making films and continuing to pursue your passion as a filmmaker but I am calling out for help. Everything you said in this video tocuhed me and displayed to me that I am not alone. This video gave me a sense of hope. Let me know if you would be interested in maybe giving me a few pointers on where to go with writing an appeal for USC Film School. The dead line for the appeal is April 5th. I look forward to your response. Thank you! All the best, Josh Elliott Pickel
Can you please help me write an appeal, I am on a waitlist as of right now for cal poly slo for CS and I have been learning code via Java for the past couple of months this is a school local to me and would be better financially too, the past four years I gave it my all to try to get in here my weighted gpa is a 4.2
