Springs towards Denver...also a gravel road through the Roosevelt National at altitude coming in from Wyoming, but they were somewhat tame compared to this...exceptional views, brought back a lot of memories...thanks again
Went on a four wheeler over this pass and Yankee Boy in Sept of 2017. Scariest thing I've done (I'm nearly 70 and was riding with my son and holding on for dear life. He nearly tipped us over twice but we survived. My son has traveled all over the world and he said this was one of the top experiences he's had! We loved it but it's off my bucket list!!
My wife and I made this trail and Black Bear Pass In 08. We had no idea what we were doing and darn sure had no business on The Bear. It was exhilarating and scary. We had a blast though.
Thank you for watching! We shot some vids in Moab this Spring, but for some reason we had tons of camera issues. I took a brief look at the vids and wasn’t pleased. I will revisit those soon and hopefully post some gems. Next big trip is Moab next spring.
I just did this trail in my 2013 Land Cruiser. My LC is stock except for 33s and rock sliders. Your Jeep will do it easily. This is an easy trail, but you have to pay attention -- inattention could have serious consequences.
This route is not as technical as the Bear. There are narrow areas closer to Telluride. All trails in CO require driver attention to avoid getting into trouble. The mine ruins near the top make this one a must.

What time of year was this?
Second week in July 2017. Late May snowfall. Should be the same if not worse in 2019.

That’s way more than you will need. Air down and enjoy the scenery!
