Telluride to Imogene Pass Colorado 2017
Front bumper cam of the ride from Telluride up to Imogene Pass. This was a really nice climb up to the second highest pass in the US. Enjoy the scenery in HD where possible.

Black Bear Pass to Bridal Veil Falls Colorado 2017
มุมมอง 6K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is shot from the front bumper of the Jeep while travelling down from the Black Bear pass to Bridal Veil Falls. The video is uncut (except for our photo stops) and shows the full ride down to the falls. The camera gets a little shaky from engine harmonics at times, but still worth a view in HD.
California Gulch Animas Fork Colorado 2017
มุมมอง 5K7 ปีที่แล้ว
A short trip from California Pass through California Gulch down to Animas Fork. This was a small part of a very long day of riding the trails east of the Million Dollar Highway.
Corkscrew Gulch Hurricane Pass California Pass Colorado 2017
มุมมอง 11K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This video shows portions of Corkscrew Gulch leading up to Hurricane Pass. From Hurricane pass it is a short ride over to California Pass. Corkscrew can get a bit repetitious at times with long straight stretches that don't change much, so I cut out some of the redundant scenery. HD is always the best viewing option.
Black Bear Pass Colorado 2017
มุมมอง 15K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Black Bear Pass almost didn't happen for us in 2017. There was a large rock slide on the Telluride side that kept the trail closed until the day before we were to pack up and head home. The County did a great job getting the slide cleared and the trail open. This video is a little long, but the scenery is amazing to watch in HD.
Engineer Pass via Mineral Creek Colorado 2017
มุมมอง 15K7 ปีที่แล้ว
A video of Engineer Pass from Ouray via Mineral Creek. This is one of my favorite roads in the San Juan Mtns. Mineral Creek is mostly rock until you reach the San Juan Chief Mill. Mineral Creek is the west access road to the Alpine Loop from Ouray, CO. I had a lens on my camera fog up due to temps and humidity, so the video switches to front bumper cam for a little while. This video is long, bu...
Imogene Pass Colorado 2017

Video clips of our trip to Imogene Pass from Ouray, CO. These clips are from a bumper mounted forward facing GoPro on a Jeep.
Yankee Boy Basin Colorado 2017
มุมมอง 38K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Video clips from Yankee Boy Basin trail just outside Ouray, CO. We couldn't make it all the way to the lakes due to snow caps on the pass just before the lakes.

Modded DJI F550 (689mm). Short flight to record video from the Fat Shark Pilot HD and GoPro 3 Black and sync with Flytrex flight recorder in Dashware. PiP overlay contains video from fixed position PilotHD.The main video is from the GoPro mounted to a Tarot 2D gimbal hanging on AeroXcraft landing gear. Aircraft weight is 2086 grams without battery.
Does anyone know what the height of the overhang is on the trail? Clearance height, Thanks
The end of that large overhang collapsed not too long ago. After it was cleaned up you can easily swing wide away from the wall with minimal clearance issues.
My wife and I drove this in 1997. I remember seeing red commercial tour vehicles. Open top I think. No more I guess. Seeing this was fun. Thanks.
They still have them. They might be white nowadays tho
I love the pace you go - it gives us viewers time to see the amazingly beautiful scenery. I also liked the music on this one. Definitely watching more of yours! I live in Colorado but haven't been here since we were kids. I don't have 4x4 to go there myself so I thank you!
These are great video's! They actual show how technical and difficult these roads can be.
Did you make it to the Mt Sneffels trailhead?
How many hours to complete the trip?
Telluride to Ouray is about 12 miles. Should be able to complete the trip in 4 hours. Longer depending on stops for photos.
Thanks a lot for posting, very beautiful. So what month of the year was this filmed?
This trip was in early July.
@1:20, is that a barrel of petrol on the little hill for those who run out on the trail?
Is it feasible to do Corkscrew to Hurricane to California down to Animas and then go down San Juan County Rd 2 through Silverton in one day? How do you think the trails would be in a RAM 2500 Powerwagon? Thanks and beautiful footage!
Sucks that A-Holes put graffiti all over the sign. I plan on doing the trail in August. Thank you for filming...
Wow! Seems most of roads are one way?... a lot of water holes as well as all dirt roads not at all paved roads... slopes are everywhere... may make the scary ... long roads..
Thank you, beautiful.
Which direction is this? I want to go the other way
What time of year was this filmed? Month/ day?
July 12, 2017 if I remember correctly. The trail opened at 2pm the previous day (due to slide repair). We got an early start on the trail. This video started around 10a ish.
No, bruh. I don't know that I could be on that shelf road, man.
What actual date was that recorded?
Excellent video. Please share info about the music you used for this. Thanks Much
In Romania they would call a road this quality "Interstate"
Definitely on my bucket list. I have zero off roading experience so far in my jeep. Plan on getting a little experience before i do BBP. Did you unlock your sway bars to do this trail? Is it necessary?
Black Bear is a must! Definitely get seat time on some trails and plan to do BBP with a group so you can get pointers and spotting along the way. I would recommend lowering your air pressure in your tires as well as disconnecting your front sway bar. Both items are not required, but it will aid in comfort along the trail.
Nice video! OIIIIIIIO
Well done!
I would like the original noises too without the music. The rest is great. Thank you for posting.
Awesome trail one of my favorites
Quick question, is it possible to cover this pass from West to East in a Ford Explorer AWD with stock tires, clearance suspension etc?
Yes. From Ophir to 550 is pretty easy going. You will have your share of pucker moments, but nothing difficult. We have seen Subaru Outbacks on this road quite a bit. Folks use it as a pass through road from Telluride to Ouray or Silverton.
Great video and epic scenery. Thanks a lot for sharing. We sooo want to go there.
Great ride .., fascinating !! Thanks 😁 (music wasn’t the best tho)
please stop with the music
When the audio device was created a long time ago in the way back machine they added a volume control. Instead of trolling a video and commenting, try the volume control. Also, play your own music, it’s probably better than listening to my Jeep engine drone along for 2 hours. Enjoy life.
Excellent Video and Great Driving! Thanks for Sharing this with us all. I just bought a Jeep XJ that I’m upgrading to be able to tackle trails like this. Thanks again!
A couple of Friends and I just returned from Ouray the trail to Imogene and Yankee boy are awesome.
How wide is this trail? I am running 38's on my 2 door jeep.
You will be fine. There are only a couple of areas where water runs across the trail and eats at it. Just take it easy and be smart with your line choice. This trip was made with 83 inch wide stance - outside tire to outside tire.
Videos make the trails look considerably more narrow than they are. 38's should be no problem.
Great share!!! Can a stock, unmodified, 4-door Jeep Sahara (or unmodified Toyota 4-Runner) handle these trails? Thanks!
Yes. Most "trails" in this area are maintained county roads, so there is some level of care to make them passable. I would probably exclude Mineral Creek and Black Bear, but for the most part a smart driving line and taking your time will get a stock vehicle through. If the county that maintains the road thinks a high clearance vehicle is a must, there is a sign at the trail head.
Thank you Mark! My wife and I got the off-road bug after a fabulous outing on the White Rim Trail in Utah. Since then, we are always looking for the next amazing location, and Ouray, CO certainly looks to be that place. Safe drives!!!
Moab and Canyonlands area... Might favorite place in the US! Stay safe!!
Is this trail from engineers to Ouray
Yes it is.
Thanks! I wasn’t sure if my ford raptor could do this trail. I’m on 37” tires and have the shorter wheelbase extracab not the full four door so I’m feeling better about running this now.
You'll do fine. I saw a full size ford on Maggie, the switch backs there are way tighter than mineral creek. You may have to do a few 2-3 points turns, but should be good.
Looks amazing! About how long does this trip take?
I would say the trip time depends on your objectives. If you just want to drive it with no stops, I'd guess close to 2 hours out and back. Being at the top of California (coming from Ouray side), you will be very close to Animas Forks and it is worth the trip down to the mine ruins. On this day we included Animas Fork and returned to California via Placer Gulch. We were riding or hiking for 8-9 hours. There is a great book by FunTreks called 'Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4 Wheel Drive Trails' that will give you a better idea of pure drive time (no sightseeing stops) on the trails in CO.
Thanks for posting! for sure now on my list for this August!
Fantastic!
Why do you drive that Jeep through water as if you were driving a low profile sports car? Common man, it’s a Jeep!!!
yesssssssssssssssssss I drive my Rubi through water like a jeep is supposed to fast
Very nice. Thank you for sharing it. What time of year did you drive the trail?
First of all congratulations! Terrific video...I muted the music. Question: I just bought a 2020 JGC Trailhawk, and Black Bear Pass is on my wish list; incidentally I live in Atlanta, GA...do you think that without any mods, straight from the factory it can tackle the trail successfully? Thanks and happy off-roading.
Your wheelbase is 114.8",, It's highly recommended to use a 93.5" Such as an Early CJ7.. you need clearance as well but your wheelbase is going to make a huge difference on the telluride switchbacks its a one-way road only from the "Steps" down. With 3 point turn switchbacks.. once a year I believe they open it the other direction from the Telluride side. Bring a spare pair with you too. www.fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinternet/cs/recarea?ss=110308&navtype=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&cid=FSE_003738&navid=110240000000000&pnavid=110000000000000&position=generalinfo&recid=32490&ttype=recarea&pname=Black%20Bear%20Pass%20Road%20
This guy did it in a trail hawk.. th-cam.com/video/JTvszGzrwHE/w-d-xo.html
PR thanks from Greece! I return Stateside on October 30 and will heed your advice! Many thanks!
PR noted re. the guy in the Trailhawk.
What’s the name of the guitar music before, approaching the waterfall on the left. Nice guitar music and scenery 😊👍
I realize Im kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
Videos like this one is the reason why i wanna leave Sweden and move to USA.
Thanks for this awesome video 😍❤👌
Well, it was a nice drive until the snow turned you back! Great vid for getting me stoked for my next trip out.
I drove this in the mid 80's. Has this road been extended since then?
I've come down this trail from Engineer Pass to Ouray and it is tight. Luckily I didn't pass anyone along the way. Is this supposed to be a one way trail?
No not one way. Uphill traffic has the right of way. It's not that difficult to find a pull off. If you're in one of the very narrow parts, just sort it out with the other drivers. For the most part, they've all been in that situation before.
Wow! nice video, thanks...stayed in Ft. Collins for awhile, and did the old Fall River Rd. to the alpine center, and Rampart Ridge Rd. from Colo. Springs towards Denver...also a gravel road through the Roosevelt National at altitude coming in from Wyoming, but they were somewhat tame compared to this...exceptional views, brought back a lot of memories...thanks again
My wife and I made this trail and Black Bear Pass In 08. We had no idea what we were doing and darn sure had no business on The Bear. It was exhilarating and scary. We had a blast though.
Love your videos, Mark. Incredible.
At what time us Hurricane Pass?
23:17 we are parked on Hurricane Pass. It's not too much further from there over to California Pass.
Great video, Mark!
