    I just came across your video and I think it might be the best one I’ve seen on Imogene. Your camera angle and the way the sunlight hits the trail really shows up detail and just how technical the surface seems. Great job!

    Good job, Jordan! A friend and I just completed a full-day trip with Switzerland of America this past Saturday, August 27, 2022, and really enjoyed it, although we were both bruised and tired when we got back to Ouray. It was surely worth it. I also enjoyed seeing the big, red Dodge RAM 3500 with the 400+ HP hemi-head sitting at the summit of Imogene Pass. This is the vehicle we made our trip in. It is an excellent vehicle with its longer wheel base, compared to a jeep, for this kind of trip in my opinion. We went from Ouray to Telluride. After lunch in Telluride, we headed south on 550 before taking off over Ophir Pass and Corkscrew before returning to Ouray. We started this trip about 8:45 AM and got back to Ouray about 4:45 PM. Total distance for this route per the truck's odometer was 71 miles. I recommend Switzerland of America, if you want to book a tour. If you have never done this kind of 4-wheel tour over rough roads, I suggest booking a half-day tour first. Just my personal opinion.

    Thanks for the vid! The trail looks a lot easier on video, I ran that trail on my 2013 jk, 2” lift on 35” tires. I ran mostly in 4wd low and used the lockers a couple of times. Most obstacles have a detour but I chose to take them on, rain and hailed on us and it made it slippery on the Ouray side of the trail.

    • @Huneycutt
      @Huneycutt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I definitely agree the video looks easier. I was running also with a 2013 Jeep JKU Rubicon. To make things worse, I also had 300 lbs of roof load with the roof rack and roof top tent. I had the sway bar disconnected and 2" lift with 33s. I also typically run trails at 20 psi. To make the trail look even easier I was using a camera stabilizer and video stabilizer on my computer program. If I didn't use the stabilizer, the camera looks too shaky.

    Very good. Shows the road, scenery very well. Very beautiful mountains. I am sold on the go-pro hero camera. Very nice clear picture with great stabilization. Best to go west to east for scenery. Road is much rougher on west side. Narrow road cut into cliff at 15:00. I am surprised that you had no traffic on the west side except for the bicycle. The two Jeep’s closer to the east side top were very rude to not let you pass. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks Rich, glad you liked it.
      Believe it or not I do not have a gimble for my camera. The camera was mounted on the roof rack using a bicycle handlebar mount for the GoPro Hero 6. The GoPro Hero 6 has a built-in image stabilizer and it makes the trail look much smoother than it actually is. I had the electronic sway bar disconnected on the Jeep and I typically air down the tires to 20PSI. There is some post-production edits using my video software, but generally speaking the GoPro did 90% of the stabilization.

      Since the early 1980's we have been to this area many times. In my opinion late August or early September is best if you are doing Jeep trails. It just depends on the year. We were there in July once and Imogene was not open yet because of the late spring snowfall. We were there mid September last year when a snowstorm came through and had to cancel Jeeping and hike at lower elevation.
