    ABOUT ME:
    I began learning how to draw in February, 2019. I was inspired by Into the Spider-Verse and told myself, "I want to be able to make something like that one day". SO I decided to pick up a pencil and start learning.
    I've spent every day since scouring the internet for the best tutorials and lessons to help teach me how to be an artist.
    But I don't have all day - I want to figure this out! I've structured my practice and learning in a way that has gotten me to figure out the fundamentals in 2 years - and I hope to have even less until working professionally.
    Because of this, I sought out to make myself a curriculum that would train me effectively.
    I called it "The Curriculum for the Solo Artist". It got popular on Reddit: / from_the_guy_who_made_...
    Proko even talked about it on the Drafstmen podcast (time-stamped)!
    • DIY Art School Part 2 ...
    Since then, I've been working hard to improve. I take pride in learning, helping others, and pursuing creativity.
    If you want to talk more with me, I'm on Discord all of the time.

    Hell yeah, most of the perspective videos explain 1 point, 2 point and 3 point, but don't talk about the usecases for them. This was really informative, thank you Alex!

    Thank you for the demonstrations of perspective. It's the most valuable information I've ever received on the topic of perspective. Perspective seems to be what I'm struggling with the most but this truly put it all together for me mainly bc you used examples, thank you. Time to apply what I've learned, hope it goes well.

      Best wishes! I'm glad this was able to help connect some dots. Seeing perspective used and understanding how it can be used for different purposes was a big eye opener for me, too

    I don't think any other video actually informed me about why 1, 2 or 3 point perspective shots are used for particular purposes. I also didn't realize that sometimes vanishing points are off the page because of the distortion. Thank you for very informative video!

    Holy shit, you are the guy who create the Curriculum for self taughts, I've been planning to start learning using it to guide me, do you have any tips on how I should approach using the Curriculum, and how much time drawing the exercises dayle ?

    • @AlexHuneycutt
      @AlexHuneycutt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sure thing. I've made a new version - it's an interactive eBook with custom TH-cam playlists and links. I'm pretty proud of it. You can find it at:
      gumroad.com/alexhuneycutt
      I spend at least 2 hours every day studying. It's just as important to question your own development, share your work with others in a community, and try to help critique others thoughtfully. Those components are just as large of a factor to your development. By recording yourself to other people's work, you discovery your own shortcomings.

    i have a question about one point perspective, if in one point we are looking directly at the front plane of the box and we see a perfect square then how come we draw the side planes as well without the front plane changing at all??

    Question.. does all lines follow perspective? I heard there were some lines that dont follow perspective that made me confuse

    • @AlexHuneycutt
      @AlexHuneycutt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not all objects have to follow the perspective grids you create. A 2-pt grid does not mean every object has to align to the original two points. When you rotate an object, it will converge to its own, new, points.
