- Learning to draw in perspective can feel daunting, it is in fact relatively easy if broken down into manageable sections.

This is the first episode and gives an introduction to myself and the series before giving a brief overview of 1, 2 & 3 point perspective and the advantages to learning all three methods.
This series is designed to give a full understanding of what perspective drawing is and why I think it's worth learning.

Very excited to watch this series. Right now it's hard for my brain to associate your words (parallel lines heading left/right/up/down) with the simple drawing, but I know I'll get the hang of it!
Thanks! yes it is a bit daunting at first, repetition and play is really key in learning. I learnt a lot of this doodling in my maths books at school.

@@Luke.Adam.Hawker as you mentioned on Instagram recently, you have a great relationship with failure, you know you’ll improve speed and skill with editing with practice from lots of failure for rapid learning. The same with your drawing ability, I intend to take up this kind of drawing with the intention of failing often in order to learn. I’ve really been looking forward to this video series and can’t wait for more, best of luck with it all and thank you for sharing your art and your ability with the world
@@Luke.Adam.Hawker I studied architectural design a good 12 years ago and back then we weren't really encouraged to make our line work look so effortless. It was more precision and clean solid lines - I much prefer drawing and seeing sketches based on your construction line approach, it gives the drawing more of a perspective of how the eyes actually view structures and lines from a distance (a form of haze effect). It would be great to hear you touch on this on future videos which no doubt you will because you're the master of this form!
Something I struggle with when setting drawings up is the sheer scale of perspective lines that are required if you're drawing a building for example and the vanishing points are way off the paper.
On your editing, no doubt in several videos down the line you'll be starting to work out quicker hacks to speed that up or at least make it work around your own time better.

Hey Luke, you're very inspiring . I have found that drawing is one of the most important aspect to my watercolor painting. I am teaching now and find that many students struggle with drawing. Thank you for this video and I'll be sharing this with my students to help them understand perspective.

Hey Berzan, I’ve noted that down for a topic to cover in the series. If you happen to have an example of perhaps something you found a struggle to capture then please let me know and I’ll base the lesson around it.
@@Luke.Adam.Hawker thank you for answerin me. the example could be a joistic or something (a building fa. hadid's or frank gehry's) have oblique form. and another want, when you draw your examples can you show relaitonship between the object and ground.

Hey, I haven't but I definitely will! I studied Interior. Architecture and design and I was a designer for 7 years before becoming a full time artist.....6 years ago.
