About the bird feeder - your backyard looks very open. Birds like a little shelter to hide when the predators swoop in. Easy fix is create a hide-away pile with branches from those pines I see bordering your backyard. Birds don’t mind coming close to the house as long as they have a place to hide. Thanks for all the joy you bring us every day. Good luck with the birds.

I'm binding by hand. I can't sew that fast! I love puzzles. I work on them when extended family get together. If I had a puzzle out at home all the time, I would never get anything done.Your Woodland? flimsy is a great example fabric which I might pass on, because although I am attracted to it, I can't see how to combine such different prints. I never liked puzzle's, not sure why. But quilts are exactly like a puzzle! Thanks for the encouragement, I am getting some stuff done. Pulled all my scraps out and sorted through and pressed what I will keep. I use many for my barn cat's beds. Keeping all the RED's (because Pat' taught me to like red). I also found 3 charm packs from years back of Pat's "Hometown Girl fabric. I really need to put that to a quilt soon.

Both my husband and I do a puzzle first every morning. We have an online puzzle service that has two new puzzles each day. We can choose one of those or find another in the library. We can choose the number of pieces in the puzzles and the puzzle changes to suit the number/ challenge we like, The puzzles are photographs but you can purchase for your library, paintings as well. We do these as brain exercise and that makes the routine important to both of us. I make quilts too.

I love puzzles. Always have. I’m not as good at them now. On your quilt, I liked the fabrics you auditioned as borders. I thought the red might be great as an inner border, then the splatterware. And bind with any of the three. I’d wait until it was together and see which binding I liked. You are so industrious. I love it. I’m reading that first quilt mystery book you suggested. Liking the characters. Thanks

Yes, I love a good puzzle! I also love your teal-and-light stars. As much as I like red plaid, I definitely don't think it works as a border for this quilt. The spatter looks much better. I downloaded the Stronger Together pattern, but don't have time & energy to do it right now.
I've worn New Balance for several years, but had problems with the heel width. While I need a wide toebox, I don't need a wide heel. Now I'm wearing Ryka. Support and cushioning, along with better fit!

  • @tinakay7933

I use good quality shoes like New Balance when I am out and about. For in the house, I prefer Dansko clogs. They are easy to slip on and off, have a wonderfully wide toe box (I wear wide width shoes), and have great cushioning. If I forget to have them on when I am puttering around the house, I actually breathe a sigh of relief when I put them on. Plus they are easy to kick off when I go to sew and use my foot pedal! :) They don’t come cheap; expect to pay even a bit more than your New Balances. I got my first pair from Nordstrom Rack. My husband just surprised me with a new pair this Christmas, which I totally love, that he got at Farm and Fleet of all places!
