    Well you inspired me to catch up on my ufo's. I am super excited. I have at least 15 quilts going and I finished 2 tops and 2 pieced backings and 2 different ones that needed binding on them. I needed that so bad. I am going to continue to work one those unfinished quilts and I have 3 more that needs binding. Some Of mine are bom quilts that I fell behind on because I love so many quilts and so I start bunches of them. And I want to start some more! It is an addiction. Thank you...keep encouraging us to work on those ufo's every month!

    I sewed all day Saturday too, in my pjs! Hubby was gone on a fishing tournament so I had the whole house to myself. I stopped long enough to make a simple casserole. It was my own little holiday and it made me happy.

    You should make a tag and attach it to the end of each quilt with a safety pin so you can easily read the card instead of pulling out the entire quilt when you need to locate it.

    • @sunflowerbaby1853
      @sunflowerbaby1853 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I too make pillowcases with leftover fabrics. It also is a great way to store your quilt or gift it. As an extra touch sometimes I machine embroider the name of the quilt on the pillowcase flange.

    Oh my! It's incredible that this discussion about pouring things were not really using any more happened today! My husband decided today was the day for me to go through my classroom library, which has been taking up storage in our garage, and purge. I left teaching in 2019. So it's reasonable to do so, but extremely difficult and emotional.

You’ve gotten through a lot of past projects regarding working on your bindings, updating the quilts in your dining room - not all, but quite a few have gotten done, your tops/flimsies.., you have accomplished quite a bit since first mentioned two years ago. So good, and inspiring ❤️ Chris

    I never even thought to fold like that. I fold my towels the way I do, because that is how my mom did - no consideration of the depth or width of the linen closet. (Some of my quilts fit their shelves - accidentally.)

    Folding a quilt sounds so simple, but I've also had trouble folding mine to get them to fit onto my shelves. Watching you do it was extremely helpful! I wouldn't have thought of tucking in the final edge. One of the main reasons I like your videos is to see your thought processes. That helps me think through the things that I need to do, and usually it's in a different manner than I would have done it. So thanks!

    • @sunflowerbaby1853
      @sunflowerbaby1853 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tip: I always make a cardboard template of my shelf, minus an inch for folds of the quilt. So when I'm folding my quilt I can determine if I need to fold it into thirds or fourths and again how wide. Each quilt looks exactly the same on the shelf which is pretty to the eye. But remember to refold it once or twice a year. Hope that helps.

    Thank you for the grand finale of January. Great job. I love to start my day with you. I am still in the process of reorganizing my studio. I decided to upgrade its name and expand the storage capacity. My word of the year is neat and I’m still working to that end. I’m planning for a number of quilts this year and keeping supplies in separate boxes. I put up a design wall. I finished one table runner.

    I have a question about folding quilts. In the Quilt Guilds I’ve been a member of, it’s always been suggested the quilts be “rolled” to store, to avoid numerous fold lines which become a nuisance when they’re taken out to display or use. Yours and others thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!
