"More jobs then people" If this was real it would be obvious and easy to get a job. People wouldn't have to jump through hoops and have MIT on their diploma for an entry level position. If they ACTUALLY NEEDED workers these places have plenty of people needing work, they just don't want to put the effort into new hires. They want someone worth $60 an hour to work for them for $16. As if someone is just going to hand over 80% of their earning potential for some lazy unproductive employer.

It's always a depression for broke people during recessions and layoffs especially the ones that didn't prepare for these things.
Many of those tech companies over-hired and are now thinning the herd to run more efficiently. Those days of getting paid to sit around posting and doing videos at work are over.
Just look around during these layoffs and notice that life goes on and business as usual for most.

Dave hasn’t been an employee in so long, that he is clueless. More jobs than people looking for jobs; spoken like a truly mind-blind employer. Generally like his advice, but He cannot relate to the working person at all.
