    Excellent done. Reducing most or all of the color ramp values to about 50% also produces an pleasant dark pearl effect too.

    Hello thanks you very I really appreciated this video. I am trying to make a greenish black pearl with iridescent purples hues on the sides of the pearl. If ever you needs ideas for videos. I'd be very happy to see you make a tahitian pearl.

    Pro tip: When you're selecting your colors, it's much easier to just click-drag on the color wheel to get the colour you want. The swatch will update in real time, so you don't waste a bunch of time trying to adjust HSL values to get the color you want.

      @@blenderbitesize I agree... because I was watching you spend 30 seconds messing around with value bars, and I just click-draged to match your color. It was easier, faster and better. Liberating! ;)

    Just to save you time in the future: The Subsurface IOR (and other subsurface settings) do nothing at all if the initial Subsurface value is zero.
