I have a stihl mdg1 coming tomorrow got it for next to nothing hoping it works lol. Trying to get my hands on the husqvarna but they are being difficult. I am trying to get certified for Repair for husqvarna but they are kinda air headed over there.
Called around and all the dealers are telling me I can't buy one since I'm not a dealer. They said even if I could get my hands on the hardware, I wouldn't have access to the software.
Hmmmmm. For what it's worth, my local dealer had to make a call. They were unsure if they could sell it to me. I suppose you could reach out to your Regional Stihl Tech Rep to help you. They are definitely stretched thin with a large territory to keep up with, but would be able to assist your local dealer. Good luck and keep us posted

So where can you get one of these. I spoke to my stihl dealership they said you have to work for stihl and be a tech to be able to get one of these

What was the cost of the diagnostic package for the Stihl saws? What would be a good price if finding a kit used? Thanks
I paid almost $800 for mine, new at the dealer. I have seen a couple used on ebay for about half that. They don't come up for sale often though.

I have MDG 1 ,hardware is not problem ! Software is a problem! SDS 1 and new SDS 2( only dilership account )!
@@vikingpower95 That's not good news. I've heard about SDS2 but haven't seen it yet. I'm waiting to hear back from the Stihl rep.
