Played it tonight and I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Wooden edition with wood tokens was SUPERB, and the gameplay was SUPER unique. I love love loved it.
Yea they hit it out of the park ! Agree maybe the expansion will make the islands a touch bigger and yes maybe 15 bonus cards instead of 4 but very minor tweaks could easily be add for 2025 expansion or something Thanks Dr. Brian
Well, I didn't think it was game of the year material when it was first released as Metropolys which I bought. I really like the game, but there are a lot of good games coming out this year I think are better. I'm not convinced the new version makes the game jump to elite status.
I was surprised by how much our group loved it. More than one ordered their own copy - it’s definitely a contender for us, but you’re right, there are always more games to try. What are you most looking forward to?
@@brainsongames I don't want to be hard on the game or your enjoyment of it because I've played Metropolys a lot over the years. It is really good. I don't know if the main scoring rules have changed, but I did not think they were perfectly balanced in the original. In fact, when I laid everything out I could see it was not, but whatever. It is a revision so I have a preference for original ideas, but maybe that's not fair - if it's a great game it should be labelled as such. I say that while anticipating the new Cyclades (I sold the original for it), Unconscious Mind, Gnome Hollow, Wondrous Creatures, World Order, Undaunted 2200, haven't bought Faraway yet, love Harmonies . . . I feel like this is a fabulous year for board games and I don't see Metropolys/Skyrise contending for the "GOTY" status. That's just me. Totally respect your opinion.
It’s a golden age for games for sure! All I can say is our experience with Skyrise was great. I’m excited about Forges of Ravenshire, Thiefdom (because I love Clans of Caledonia), and Fractured Sky.
Thanks for the video, can't wait to play!
It’s a lot of fun!

Glad to hear the wooden edition is great too!

The title gives it away.

Thanks for watching. I’m looking forward to playing this again!

@@brainsongamesMore proof this is an awesome year for games!
not a game of the year. Its smart and interesting, but not that innovative to justify the claim.
Fair enough. We’ve had extremely fun game sessions with it and lots of laughs!
Sadly, game is filled with w0k3 rubbish
