Very glad you did the review. I backed the deluxe version and when it arrived a few weeks ago I could not remember why I wanted it. This review has renewed my enthusiasm and I'll get it on the table next week.
Finished this past weekend a four player game of it at a friend's house and I really enjoyed it. The deluxe copy is really nice and the depth of strategy was pretty good once you got going. Great review!
I got the KS deluxe version + wooden counters (but I didn't get the wash) and it was was about £70 (I think 120 Canadian). I didn't know the deluxe would even be available afterwards but hearing that price I'm glad I backed (and I very nearly didn't). It's so pretty and is really fun plus you always have people to play with because it just draws people to your table. Glad you enjoyed it.
Game steward buys delux and the upsells them. So for those who did not get the kickstarter but still want xyz game. Not sure of other who are reputable that do this. So you are correct it is not at retail so to speak.
I backed this game too. My wife and I played it 4 times I think. Really great game. Simple rules, lots of interesting decisions to make. Beautiful pieces. Where did you get your T-shirt? I think I have the same one. Got mine as a reward for backing Tantrum House KS.
