Excellent selection for your top 5. Few I love and some I haven’t played.
Oathsworn has replaced Dune Imperium as my all time favorite board game. My son and I have been playing through this together and having a great time. The thrill of playing through the story and then immediately unboxing your new baddie to paint and fight has been nothing short of phenomenal. Dwellings I picked up when it finally became available after seeing you hype this on your videos. It's a great game and so much replayability with all of the factions. My gaming group has enjoyed every play of this game. The hype was well earned.

Nice video! I've been on BGG almost daily for the past 21 years, yet somehow I completely missed Aquatica. I've now added that and Dwellings of Eldervale to my WishList.

Awesome video, what a great production! I backed Andromedas Edge All In. I missed Dwellings and AE looks like a really good successor! Can’t wait for it to arrive next year. I’m curious and torn about Oathsworn but not sure because of its price… and it seems to be a real table hog. But Isco love great story telling! I only played Blood Rage on BGA so far. Really enjoyed it! Can’t buy it though as we mostly only play with two players… Blood Rage really sucks at two. Unfortunately…

Always been keen on trying Oathsworn! Love your picks though 😃 blood rage I only played this year and it’s become a favourite quickly. Root I’ve loved since I very first played it and dwellings of Eldervale is just so special 🎉
Excellent production and awesome top 5. Blood Rage is my #2. I love Aquatica and need to play it more. Root is a hard teach so I just play it on Steam now. DoE is probably my #5 but I sold my legendary copy to finance AE. We got a 3-player game of Oathsworn going right now and it's def the highlight of my week 🐺

🐺🐺🐺 This was very exciting! I am happy to see you got to use your new Playmat for Dwellings. I had picked out Aquatica, Oath Sworn and Dwellings. I didn't know about Root and Blood Rage. The top 10 would be very cool too. I love the lighting for each game. That was a great detail. Especially the wolf pack logo! It was well worth the wait. 🧙🏽♂️🐲🏚️ Dwellings of Eldervale for the win!

Blood Rage is really great! Oathsworn we just started. Only played scenario 1. But it was super fun. Cant wait to get back and play more.

First time I’ve come across your channel. Production quality was so excellent, fresh and different than most board game channels. Games shown look interesting but complex. Even if I can figure out the complex ones, they just don’t make it to the table very often. Of the games shown, which one would be least complex?

I'd definitely recommend aquatica the most then! you simply play a card from your hand and do it's actions, and once you start getting the location cards, it's not overwhelming at all because you'll learn the icons one at a time! if you get a chance to try that one, let me know how it went for you!
i think we have very different taste. but great video!! of those i only own root, which i greatly enjoy, and i have a curiosity for dwellings of eldervale but its not a priority.
to be clear: this is not a critique. its great to be exposed to different reasonings of what people enjoy about certain games!

Blood Rage - hadn't played it in awhile, and I THINK you just prevented me from selling off my promos from the last kickstarter. (I had the promos from the original kickstarter, so the monsters, at least, I felt I didn't need the "duplicates"). Oathsworn, I own, but I'm waiting for my group to finish Frosthaven before I thrust another campaign game on them, but you've got me thinking I should solo this while I wait. And Dwellings.... you've changed my "I'm thinking about this" to "MUST GET".
OMG if you love blood rage, I'd highly recommend holding onto those promos because everything is either 10x overpriced or extremely hard to find!! I'm still hunting for random pieces of it still like the sixth optional faction!
yess to oathsworn! I feel like playing it solo would at least prep you for questions when diving into it co op!

I haven't gotten a chance to play Oathsworn but I suspect I will love it.
Root only one for me personally I do not enjoy. Mechanics are sound and I understand why many love it.
Likely the issue is a few things but as I often am the one teaching the game having to teach asymmetric abilities to each new person can for me be tedious.
I've never played Oathsworn. The Kickstarter was at the same time Monster Hunter World was, so I went with that instead. I really need to play that game.
As for my favorite game, I have to go with Project Elite by CMON. The frantic action still gets me hyped. Shout out to my fellow Wolf Pack. I was surprised that Marvel Champions didn't make your list. We definitely need that top 10 video.
ohhhh both Monster Hunter/project elite were games I was definitely interested in but never committed to! Now you have me interested in project elite 🔥
AH I considered it, but currently, I think MC keeps coming out with too many expansions to keep up with. I still love it a ton but not sure where it would rank for me just yet!

Nice presentation. 😃👌🏼 And very interesting games. I really would like to try out Root, but I think I do not have the right gaming group for that game since it only can really shine when it's played more often. But I love another game with also a strong asymmetry (even if not on the same level as Root). It's Cthulhu Wars. Man, I love that game 🙌🏼
In Oathsworn I really liked the Story and the visual presentation and the creative ideas to bring the different creatures to life with their own behavior. They fighting mechanic though was to puzzle-like for my taste and I did not lime that I always knew what exactly the monster would do on it's next turn. So the fight actually did not feel like a fight with anticipating, tension, surprises and so on but more like puzzling. Competently executed for sure but not the experience I look for. I really love Sword & Sorcery from the bottom of my heart and I'm really looking forward for Primal the Awakening. While the first one has a nice adventurous feel, with tactical fights and exploration the last one has an interesting card combo system and the players fight single big monsters on a very small board with only a limited positioning possibilities. The biggest part of the game is the anticipation of the monsters actions by given hints on the back of the behavior cards of it and playing effective card combos to defeat them. 😊

When I've commented on your videos in the past, it's been to compliment your cinematography. And not only have you done it again in this video, but you've raised the bar. I'd also like to add that the music selections were excellent also--they really complemented the visuals. Now I'm really curious about Aquatica. Is it really that good or am I being seduced by your beautiful camera angles? Hmmm... (P.S. Didn't you play Aquatica with Monique (from BYP) way back when? I think she beat you, if I remember correctly...)

As someone who doesn't really like dudes on a map, this list was great. Oathsworn seems like a good one to try if I ever want to do a campaign style game.

extremely excited to play the fully produced AE FOR SURE!!
For Oathsworn, you control a party of 4! How it works is you choose any number of characters to play in full (with their set of cards), and the rest are played as companions. The companions still have a roughly equal strength, but they're just easier/faster to manage since you would use just 2 of their abilities instead of a deck of cards. You could choose to do that with all 4, but I usually play with one full character + 3 companions to speed up the game, and it's worked amazingly!

One criticism I heard of Dwellings of Eldervale (when compared with TI 4e for instance) somehow lacks lore, is that something you experienced too? There isn't much lore in Twilight Imperium so I'm not sure how the comment fits? 🤷🏽♂️

Nice list. Prefer Kemet to Blood Rage as I don’t like questing in BR. My list would include Marvel Champions and AHTCG. Warhammer Quest. Scythe /Fenris. Interested in Dwellings of Eldervale on your list.

Nice list... if you can find people to play with. My favorite games of all time fall into games that are fast to set up and easy break down and fast game play. Best games for me are the ones that are played often. Super Fantasy brawl is my top board game.
4 of these games have a solo mode! It is tough finding bigger groups for root/BR, but i get what you mean! I think that's why I prefer oathsworn over other campaigns bc despite the insanely large boxes, it's quick to get going and tear down

I just got to play Aquatica for the first time this year and it was because of you talking about it on your channel! First game flew by because we had a very experienced player, but we set it right up again and it is a fantastic game!

Oh NO way!! Aquatica definitely gets like that if you have an experienced player, but I'm so happy to hear you ran it back and enjoyed it!
YES! I love kemet! I think the reason it ranks lower in my list is because you spend too much time in the shops buying instead of on the field sometimes, but it's a fantastic area control nonetheless!

I really don't think one replaces the other because the engine building, combat, and endgame scoring make them feel like different games despite sharing the initial "place a unit-->bring them back" foundation. If you get a chance to try out dwellings somewhere, i'd highly recommend that first!

My top 1 is Dune Imperium. Cannot play that game enough. (Especially the new Uprising)
Would recommend all of you to check it out cause it's the best game design and balance I've seen so far that never gets stale.
